In the later clips both players are actually pushed back by balls with pace. Both players use the buggy whip likely because it allows the ball to be taken a bit later without detrimental effects.
It does actually for a lot of players but usually we can't see it in real love bc it's so fast. As long as you have it slightly closed or neutral on contact point, you're good.
Very similar heavy topspin forehands, but what really puzzles me about Nadal is how he flattens out a forehand in mid-rally and gives the defender something else to deal with. is he making a grip change, or is his follow through different.
The grip stays the same but it’s the follow through. He tends to hit across his body (flatten the ball) during practice sessions/depending how the ball is as well, but more so the former.
An interesting difference is the elbow position. Nadal bends it downwards in the preparation whereas Alcaraz bends his more backwards. How does that affect their swings?
I love Nadal❤️ ,because he made it !! And I love Carlos ❤️because he gives hope to the Spanish fans , Nadal is a master with 21 grand slams😱 ,Carlos and advantaged pupil ,we will see ..., thanks MEIKE ❤️
Good video, coach Meike. It would be interesting to compare Carlos’s and Federer’s forehand. I think they are quite similar.
I'll put it on my "to do" video list!
@@MeikeBabelTennis Thank you.

Delicious video !
A few more points for your ranking, Meike.
👍👌 😃
Thank you!
Alcaraz and Kecmanovic are in a forehand slaughter fight. 105mph vs 103 mph. Just crazy tennis between the two.
I only saw the highlights. I'm looking forward to the finals today!
Interesting how Alcaraz’s racquet faces upward after making contact in the second clip. What can we take away from that? Great analysis, Meike!

a genius at work. I agree with SRV&RTN. The grip stays the same.

For a split second, I thought this said "forehead comparison." 😬
Ha, I almost got a heart attack and thought I had a typo in there.

He'll win a bunch of GS, that's for sure.
