Some really amazing and beautiful items! Very much for deeper pockets than mine! Shopping really selectively, I could get some items for my collection. I liked the teapot which was on the thumbnail.
I picked up 24 pieces of Royal Albert Old Country Rose's in mint condition for $5.99 at Goodwill.

HI, Mary Beth! Blue Bird Circle is another favorite shop of mine. We moved to a gorgeous rural property not far from Houston about 20 years ago but that never changed my shopping habits. Covid-19 did, however, and now I'm so ready to be out and about again.
This video brought back a special memory. We have been married 33 years on May 14. When we were engaged, my then fiance bought for us a stunning antique pedestal dining table with chairs and a gorgeous armoire for our bedroom at Blue Bird Circle Shop. We still have the armoire but donated the other pieces to someone after Harvey to sell in her antique booth. Her home sustained a lot of damage, her husband had recently lost his battle with cancer, and she needed more income. It was the only way she would accept any help from us.
So, in a way, Blue Bird Circle helped a person who had never set foot in the shop.

I used to shop at Blue Bird Circle a lot when I lived in Houston. I bought my wedding dress there when I married my first husband. I got many other nice items there. It's a great resale shop. I once got a nice pair of ferragamo heels there. I wore them for years.

Great score on the Waterford lamp. Bought a brand new Waterford dish at a yard sale for $6, so beautiful. The young couple selling it made a face when i said how lovely it was. They thought it was so tacky.

This was a beautiful store was so many beautiful pieces I wish we had one like this where I live we really don’t have too many high-quality used and discounted stores like this this Chyna pieces in the beginning with the blue pattern my grandmother had something similar if not the same when I was a little girl I used to love that sad and I really should try to buy one just to have it to remember her by every time I see somebody using it I think of my grandmother hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy

Hello, Lady Mary Beth. You have found some very interesting treasures at this shop. And, I'm so happy that they are in the business of helping people. I love your Waterford lamp. I can't imagine the price for a new one, but I know it isn't $150! Your vase is lovely, and once you have some flowers and greenery in the vase, the chip won't matter. It's in a very interesting design and shape. I noticed a piece of Wedgood Colorado at 5:56, just peeking out. I've always loved that pattern. The cute polka-dot dress is adorable, and very stylish. I'm glad that you had such a nice time, and I can see why you will be happy to return. Thanks for showing us your items.
Have been out of state and just responding to your message. The Waterford lamp would be about $700 new. It is a spectacular one with an upgraded shade and lots of intricate cuts. I have a Waterford account and order lamps for friends and clients. In fact, the Kells lamp just showed up at my door today for a friend. For sure, the one from Blue Bird was a deal! You are right that the vase will show well with flowers and hide the chips. It's really okay since this can be one I take to events without worrying about damage. It's all good!

I remember when Ashley's China Shop had the much bigger Waterford room in their previous location, and they had some lamps, and chandeliers. For $150, somebody was getting a terrific deal. Hehe I'm a dedicated collector of coffee/tea pots and cups. Think I have over 500 cups and around 300 tea/coffee pots ranging from 1910-2020.

Look for a store like this so many beautiful high-end things and even though it wasn’t super cheap it wasn’t expensive and they had some really unique piece of clothing everything there thank you so much for bringing this to my attention I need to start looking around

You have taught me so much about different tableware and crystal companies, and their history. I’m thrilled! The clothes you tried on and decided to purchase look absolutely beautiful on you. The shade of soft white on the polkadot dress is so hard to find. I’m glad you decided to go with it. And the blue and white, the fact that you can throw it in your suitcase, wow! And like you said, it’s such an elegant look. Also, I love the watermelon blouse. I’m trying to figure out what “season” you are for skin & eye color, a Summer or a Spring. Yet, you look beautiful in all colors that I’ve seen you. Again, Thank you for all of your teaching on tableware, crystal and history. Haven’t received my green VB chargers yet.

Sorry for the late reply. Have been in Tennessee and just got home last night. I think you messaged that the chargers arrived. You must remember the "Color Me Beautiful" days. Oh, the fun we had with that book. My mom and I were Spring/Summer. But, I can' t remember which we each were. They are so close. I recall wanting to be the same season as Grace Kelly.

I love this store! I live in Florida. Our vintage and thrift shops never have any real treasures. The lifestyle is too casual. Many to most sell or rid themselves of these things prior to moving here.
My best deal for Waterford was a returned McKinney Lamp for $67. It was at Belk. It must’ve been a return from a registry. The lamp retails at $895.
I just returned from Mexico Beach. Love your beautiful state! Spent time in Port St. Joe and Apalachicola. Filmed several shops there.

Many charity resales have a pricing scale that reduces 25% each month it sits on the shelf. You take a gamble walking away not knowing if it makes it to the next price/date. I have won and lost some.

Silver plate always under rated but if you can do the polishing always looks good
Silverplated trays are versatile and great for outdoor entertaining. No worries about breakage and can dress up or down. Polishing is easy with Hagerty spray and gloves. There are many easy polishing options.

I can't say to thrift in our area is pleasurable as most of the items belong in a yard sale. I don't mind buying something if I can find something worth buying.

Definitely! I probably should have purchased. Need a warehouse like Martha Steward to store everything. One of my new friends (celebrity lifestyle expert) has been to Martha's storage in NYC. Can you just imagine that experience?
The chipped Waterford can be repaired by a glass expert who would buff out the chip and you would never know it was repaired.
I need to find a local glass repair. Good idea! 👍🏻
@@LadyMaryBeth ...I use to have a few of my cut crystal pieces repaired of chips and flea bites it just doesn't work on cracks. I believe the glass experts use a diamond tip if I'm not mistaken, and the repairs are very reasonable.
Prices way too much! Come to Europe for the bargain prices - I usually travel to Italy pre Pandemic so many lovely things - crystal silverware, vintage damask linen. Best buy 10 crystal coasters 6 euros!
