I always find that most Christian metal is A lot more Christian than the church as most of these guys have gone through hell and come out the other side where churches just haven't.

I've said it many times. Emotionally and sonically, heaviness comes primarily from contrast and buildup. The breakdown wouldn't hit as hard without such a beautiful song to lead to it. That's the beauty of it

They awoke in immense pain surrounded by glass and blood, wanting to scream in pain but unable to. The second verse seems to describe the friend's time in hospital. Then there is the Speak movement of the song.
