My personal head Canon about the merchant is that he's one of the few people who remains loyal to the true Salazar line, and is helping Leon to strike back at Ramon for letting the cult take over. Which is why he hates the cult's insignia, refers to their followers as traitors, and tells you to destroy their emblems wherever you see them. It's also why he refers to Ramon as a clown, but will also give you jobs keeping the Salazar castle free of pests. Either that, or he's simply a pirate smuggler, who got shipwrecked in the area, and is making the best of a bad situation, while making a couple of dollars on the side. Take your pick.
This actually fits perfectly there have to be a couple of people around who fight the cult
I have been saying it before one of the animated resi movies needs to be a prequel about the merchant better jet make the dog that helps you Fight el gigante his pet

Since I got Ashley's armor, that's the only way I play the game now 😂 it's just so annoying without it

They got a lot of hate when it originally released so i doubt they'll remake it

Yeah. I have noticed that they don't say the title anymore when starting a new game and it feels like something important is missing.
I'm surprised you didn't call Mendez The Undertaker. Every time he's in a scene he's either giving someone the Big Boot or Chokeslamming them.

Im okay if they remake 5 as long as they have a scene with a boulder, and Sheva tells Chris to do something about it and he gives a snarky comeback like "What do you want me to do? Punch it?"
Well I mean the boulder-punching is canon according to Village.

They should do like new Vegas' wild wasteland. Like in NG+ the game gets more silly and you can actually perform the punch

@@madcap3450 Yeah, really wish the loot table would filter out charms you have in your inventory.
The only parts of the shooting range that suck are the ones with the TMP and Striker. The spread isn’t consistent, so sometimes I wouldn’t hit something I was obviously aiming at
4-C and 3-B? Should rot. Hate them.
Ah yes, My Date With The President's Daughter: Remake. But seriously, RE4 is one of my all-time favorite games. I was lucky enough to play and review the original when it came out. It's been a wonderful experience going into the remake and seeing how things have changed and improved, and getting to see a new generation of gamers experience it.

@@dontbothertoreply9755I think a lot of those are subjective, as I personally like the designs and colors of the Remake better than the original (the original graphics are nostalgic but man, the village is so brown in that one that the color basically became monochrome for me lmao).
I also like the castle and Island more in the Remake as well, the level design feels tighter and better paced in my opinion, and the added set pieces in the castle were great and gave it more memorable moments.
I can see how some of the cut content can be a negative for people, but I believe that some cut things (like the cut bossfight) will come back in the eventual “Separate Ways” DLC.
I love how he managed to not talk about ahsley as a mouse

@@rjfrost7090 In Ashley's model, if you remove the hair, her ears are kinda big (Like a mouse).
@@rjfrost7090 Yeah, it’s a combination of her original model’s big ears and the fact that the first guy to draw “Moushly” on social media made her look adorable. People love to draw cute things.

The crappy script is mentioned on the Salazar fight, Bingo is still there as the Merchant says What are buying sometimes.
This game is definitely living up to the hype. The graphics are an improvement, obviously. It has the same great, story and humor with a self aware, B-movie edge that I love, and the controls have been improved dramatically. And I love all the little things they added to seperate is from the original. I miss the stuff they cut out, especially the giant Ramon robot, but overall, it's definitely an upgrade.

The modders community are always great with Resident Evil games, there's already a shirtless Leon mod even on the demo lmao
To be fair, 5 can benefit a lot more from a remake than 4. 6 is the one you can skip
I think that point is valid for 5. But i think 6 deserves a redemption. The only good campaign was Leons. Jake is an interesting character that deserves a second chance. But having him be basically superman was a bit ridiculous.
I think 6 can even more benefit, repurposing the story to be more serious would make it work
Thats the only RE game where all the stars of the franchise meets and interact so its kinda a good thing they could fix it
Also re6 have the better tps mechanics in all RE, so maybe they should tweak it a bit to be on par with re4 remake
Re6 is still the only game of RE that have shoulder switch (character doesnt have to be ambidextrous, much like grfs, camera switch is all we need, but its alright if they retain ambidextrous)

That bear trap montage is just beautiful
It will be very scary if you got a bear trap and saw the chainsaw man prepare to pierce you from behind. I swear that bear trap in front of Chief House is 100% hit to me no matter how many time I replay 😢
I played the game on ps2 years ago.
My favorite moment was the most obvious trap in existence.
Just a single pedestal with light shining down on it, in a small room.
I literally scootched around the edges as slowly as I could. After getting all the way past it, I looked back, quarter wondering it was a fakeout, but still DEFINITELY sure it was an obvious trap.
I grabbed the gemstone and with no regrets, laughed as the cage descended and this BEAST jumped down with it.
Still made it out alive but it's such a fun memory.
4:24 Not really, only time Ashley ever got truly captured in my play throughs was during that one section on the Island with the Bridge, otherwise keeping her safe was pretty easy.
Spotted the person playing on normal or easy.

thats just your experience, in general ashley gets captured way more in the remake, enemies are faster and more aggressive, because its balanced around Leon being faster and the new parry and stuff
@@Spillow-C proper spacing and positioning wouldnt cost you to have ashley get caught
Og re4 is kinda harder because of how ashley also have health to consider, but here all you need is to not make her in contact with any enemies
@@crisschan2463 that's not the point, of course of you have a lot of time to waste on a game to get good at everything of course she doesn't get caught, og ashley is harder just about the health part, enemies as slow as f so you stay steady in a position and kill everyone with her behind you, is that like this in the remake? NO, so she gets captured more in "general".
Ada's enthusiasm was the best part of the game.

@@alexgremlin3680 Original's got a lot more charm and personality, they toned down the campiness in the remake a lot apparently, to align the tone with the rest of the remakes.

I'm actually a fan of re5, I have great memories of me and my friend setting up two tvs in his living room and playing on system link, making fun of how corny it was.
So do I, loved it playing co op with my pal at the time.
But lets just say... it didnt age well.
It truly would be better just REMAKE the game instead of making a remake of it. Still have Chris and Sheeva but have them traveling around the world or something with the exact same plot. They can still be in Africa for a level but the game just CANT only take place there in todays culture.
Same. As I keep saying, it was a great game, just a horrible survival horror game.

Beating the game once and getting Ashley a suit of armor is the best part of Future runs because she doesn't stupidly get killed by walk in front of your panic shots in those "areas"

Thats surface level of modding, skyrim modding proves it long time ago its just not, with dedicated community, it can even par a full fledge expansion (re4 have a scary mod called "resident evil world s")

I love the original RE4 games, but I always hated we people claiming that the franchise ditched the "tank controls."
The controls were still the same. Practically nothing about the controls changed.
Up = forward. Down = backward. Run + down = quick turn. You cannot walk and shoot at the same time. Etc. Etc. Etc.

-You look at its busted hilt. "Made in Hyrule"
NO! NO SKIPPING 5! 5 was the first RE my friend got me into and i have loved playing this series since. i want a remake 5 more badly than anything.

in the OG RE4 in PS2, I use cheatcodes of inf flash grenades and "Ashley-always-present w/Knight Armor" so I feel I have a companion along, even if it's a survival horror game. But now in the Remake, are there still cheatcodes like that ? 🤔

Yeah I was pissed when he didn’t say the thing. Also why so many bear traps and not one freaking bear? A plagas infected bear fight would’ve been dope.
The bear traps are to stall you ofc, and when you are surrounded oh boy, enemies can also place traps midfight
With the sheer amount they seem to have to spare, I think they got all the bears in the region by the time Leon arrives.
