Yes they are. We need to make a dedicated smallmouth bass trip to this lake. We always catch them by accident and are pleasantly surprised.

Great video. I can’t identity this lake - looked like turtle but the rock structures look like boulder lake

Water level on Turtle is low, that could be it.

@@getfishing2411 it’s not turtle. The dam didn’t match up. I never fished this lake but I might hit it up with my sons next year. Ant - how’s the walleye fishing on this lake?

I've honestly never targeted walleye anywhere but in Canada. But there's usually a few boats hanging in the original river channel. Haven't seen them catch much, but I also don't stare at other fisherman haha.

Man what a beautiful fishery, and hell I will take a tank smallie over hammer handle Pike every day of the week! This is one place I would love to experience hopefully in the coming years we can get up there

is willow as bad as turtle with hazardous waters? we fished turtle once and it was very dangerous. we love pike fishing & looks like this is a good pike lake. just dont want to travel 8 hrs for another body of water like turtle. love the videos!! very informative!!

The Willow is significantly more safe than the TFF. The Willow is primarily sand and gravel bottom. With most of the hazardous stumps in 5 feet and less. There are some areas with large random boulders and rock piles but they are marked for the most part on paper maps. The TFF has tons of dangerous stumps and random floating logs that can appear out of nowhere throughout the lake. I traveled on the east side thru the main channel multiple times and then randomly hit a standing stump in 10 feet of water. It's one of the most dangerous lakes I've ever fished... and night boating... forget it.

Also stay tuned for Part 2. We spend 5 days on the Willow during low water levels. So you'll get to see what I'm talking about. We usually go to the Willow ever spring for our annual Pike A Thon. We catch hundreds in a just a few days.

@@joezurek7804 Yes sir. We usually go the weekend after the Officially Wisconsin Opener. Water temps are usually in the 55-65 degree range and the amount of pike in the shallows is crazy.
