I have a habit of getting lost in RUclips. One great song or artist leads you to another and another. Some have been favorites for 50 years or more, others you may have passed over when they first came out and others you may have forgotten until you are reminded how great they are. I feel sorry for the young people of today whose music becomes forgettable over night.
This song reminds me of my Dad and Mama my Dad was a Libra and he was always traveling some was for working jobs, the other was for women. I guess that's what some Libra men do. It didn't matter when my Mama and us kids knew Daddy was home we knew we would eat dinner, it's was a happy time, I miss my Daddy and Mama. I guess that's why I like the song "Traveling Man" Happy Merories" for me.
Yes, it's a lovely song, but also very sad. He wanted to experience other parts of the USA and made serious sacrifices to do so, while she just wanted to remain in Tennessee. That just shows you the relationship will never work!
Right up there with Jim Croce, John Denver, and Cat Stevens, amongst numerous other fantastic artists!!! Im so very blessed to have had the opportunity to be not only introduced to this music, by my parents, but to be able to share it with my son,as he is sharing with my grandsons as well!!!! Keep it flowing!!! Once in a life time experience ❤
This song is the biggest sucker punch to my heart every time I hear it. I start out feeling good, then can't stop the tears by the end of the song. I was just 6 when this song came out, but I vividly remember hearing this and all the other great songs of the day over the radio as I sat in the back seats of my parents' cars. I think it just makes me miss those days, and how great life was back then.
The background vocals are ethereal and the last verse where he modulates his voice always, ALWAYS brings tears to my eyes. I am so lucky there is a song so magical that can always do this to me.
They wrote poems back then; I was lucky to start listening in 1963 when I was 7! Music is always there to help us make thru life, making the good times Greta and dealing with life’s challenges and grief! The 70s and 80s were the best, by far!

Oh yeah! As we’re getting snow tonight in the mountains south west of Denver 1:14 17 years later my wife from the Philippines watches the snow fly with our two kids.
I'm a 60's born gal and remember this song well. Because my young life was filled with constant turbulence. But Thank God for my Mom and her love of music. That she encouraged me to listen to. Because they were both my saving grace for surviving. The hell I, my Mom and 6 siblings had to endure. The 60's, 70's and 80's was a great time to be young. Because we experienced the best music ever and are so fortunate to be a part of that era. I miss it!
RIP Dave Loggins, singer of "Please Come to Dallas in November" that he wrote back in October 1963 at the request of the CIA. He later changed the words to mention Boston and it was a hit almost ten years later.
Please come to Denver with the snowfall. We’ll move up into the mountains so far that we can’t be found. And throw I love you echos down the canyon. Man I love this song…… still.
I was born in Denver in 62.....I remember those snow capped mountains as a kid. I'd pay a million just to go back in time without the knowledge I have now.
Late 1974 I was in the Army and getting transferred from San Antonio to Alaska. This song played several times a day prior to my departure. I was not eager to make the move. I left behind someone special and I knew I'd never be back again.
I'm sure he's with U every day, and his love resonates in the music U shared & bonded to. Music is magic. Resonance is the substance of all matter... the loving resonates & nvr ceases.
As a confirmed 80 year old, I want to look forward to see what tomorrow will bring. But, when I hear this song, the experiences I've had through my life tug at me and I cant control the feeling that wants years past!
I grew up in Boston. This song is my life. The 60's and 70's were a special time. There ain't no time ever gonna replace it. Miss my home town every now and then. But I love my Alabama.
At 61 I too have those memories...those songs that transport us back to the 70s. Was it the decade ? was it our age ..our youth ? I see in the comments that some have lost a spouse and are reminded of them. Humans....how we love and recall. Music like this is rare today....I,ll take the 70s.

Michaels Laflamme, 1980's baby here saying i wish we could go back to the 70's. I bet those were some really good times. "Things today suck where people are so devided by our own government.
Amen my brother! We were blessed to grow up surrounded by a magical time in music. It was beautiful, songs that touched hearts & souls, songs that changed lives...
I was a child in the 70's & a teen in the 80's. I always felt that my generation got the best of both worlds. We had our music of the 80's & 90's, but we still have our memories and a great appreciation for the music that came in the 70's & before. I only wish that the kids of today would take the time to listen to music from the previous generations. Too many of them don't make any effort to do that and I feel that they're really missing out on a lot of great stuff. This is a song that I've rediscovered lately - it has such beautiful lyrics & a very powerful story. To know that when you're roaming the world on your own and there's someone back home that wants you to come back to be with them - that is very uplifting. Thanks to the person who made & posted this video.
This song reminds me of simpler times, when there were less problems, people actually talked face to face, no cell phones, campfires, picnics, friends, family, now its cold business oriented trips, I miss the life I once had, even the traveling was fun with C.B 's the communication form! I honestly would have been happier in Alaska, where there was still frontier spirit! ❤🙅🎶
One of the most happy times in my life, I hadn't yet been touched by the ugliness of Love, the jealousy, the envy, all Love was Pure, Divine, and Warm and Beautiful! 💗🙅🙌✌🌹

Lisa Anders I miss the 70's and it's innocence, or mine. It was the best time for many things. Between the 60's and the 70's we were given some of the best musicians ever put on this earth. That era will never be forgotten. God Bless and always remember......
This song means so much to so many. I was 24 in 1974. It was a pivotal point in my ife. This song evokes a sense of longing and needing a place to belong, that has now become melancholy. I met my Vietnam vet ex in 1975. Lots of memories. Some great, some not so great. Thank you Dave Loggins. RIP ❤
"Brings a tear to your eyes..."songs like this"! There will "never, ever make songs like this again", in how the world was"! I don't know...thank God we can play them still, "over and over"! With so much 🎵,♥️ and 🙏's!
Please come to Boston. . This reminds me of the summer of 1974, I was 13 almost 14. Summertime was all mine and my world was just a playground with just a few open doors. I Love it..

Hadn't heard this one in a long time. Such a good song. Sitting here listening to a lot of oldies...takes me back to so much....and then those times I missed out on ...something. My dumb luck. Crazy how things go... and change.
all we can do now is sit back in some quiet little spot-for tranquility, life has become a hectic struggle- and reminisce about when we were young, the memories.....oh the memories!
Heard it the first time when it was released in the early 70s and loved it ever since. Drives my wife mad after 30 years of marriage she still comments on my playing of it at any chance The children ALWAY join it with it laughing at how the after all these years know the words. A great song and singer. Thanks for the post,
I just love this song. I think it mirrors so many of our lives ... always searching for something, never quite knowing what it is until sometimes it is too late. I was fortunate i found my love early in life and am lucky and so grateful she has remained with me through all of the bad times and the good times.... soon be 50 of those years... come 2016
Bajandoug congrats on the Golden 50th. my parents made it that far and then some but i'll never see it. this song kinda reminds me of myself and it does mirror many lives. to take a line from an older movie, "paint your wagon". "don't know where i'm goin', don't know when i'll get there, but i'm on my way". may the good Lord bless your family.
Bajandoug when you said she I thought it was going to be a he good for you that you have been together with your soulmate for all those years lucky lady not too many people can say that
"And throw ""I love you"" echoes down the canyons, and then lie awake at night until they come back around" If that line isn't of the highest effort at seeking another's love, I don't know what is.

+Mark T Hey Mark, whats the matter with you? Why would you write such a mean-spirited message to a stranger? Would you feel better if i told you your message really hurt me. Is that what you need to hear? Mark, isn't there enough pain & heartache in the world, without people like you that randomly hurt (or try) a man like me. Mark, there are many people on the edge in this life, and words are powerful to some people. So in the future, why not say something encouraging or maybe just dont say anything at all. Mark, if i read this message & was so weak & distraught that i killed myself, how would that make you feel? I am a thick skinned man, so people like you, angry fools, dont hurt me. But i pray you dont write this to someone at the end of their rope. MARK, WORDS ARE POWERFUL, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WRITE TO PEOPLE.
+Cathy Bradley Hi Cathy b , I always knew that a real man doesn't care 'what other men think. There are a lot of jealous people in this crazy world, they wish they can speak with their heart, but most cannot. Cathy, when you wrote that "my love is like you", what does that mean? Thank you for your best wishes, coming from your beautiful spirit....I wish they were more people like you out there in the world.......
+GREGORY RUSSO I've seen this "Mark T's trolls elsewhere. I liked your comments. This is a beautiful song with lots of implications. Like many people, the song writer points out that relationships are not always cut and dry.
One of my all time favorite songs also. Grew up in the 70's. Interesting to see all the comments. Age of the singer songwriter here the whole "album" was the artist and there were songs never on the the radio you thought were great. I miss that. Jim Croce, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot, Dan Fogleberg. Acoustic and great lyrics and melody's.
Lynne, the difference being, our music was born from the heart, and resides in our soul. It touches every fiber of our being, and it truly does transcend time and space, it can takes us back in a split second, and remind us of the Love we shared, with everyone in our lives. Ah-h-h, the music was so much better then.

@@mbhughes1636I'm just about ready to turn 60 in February been married three times figured myself a three-time loser. Probably would never be in another relationship who wants an old man you know! but it met this gal about eight months ago she changed my life it's never too late fall in love!
I have a habit of getting lost in RUclips. One great song or artist leads you to another and another. Some have been favorites for 50 years or more, others you may have passed over when they first came out and others you may have forgotten until you are reminded how great they are. I feel sorry for the young people of today whose music becomes forgettable over
night.
Elaine, I second that emotion, this is the closest thing to a time machine that I can find and it's totally free!!
Me too!!! Hours at a time. Listening to one song and another one is right there.
I do believe you are a poet , Elaine.
Me 2 live from AZ
;(
This is the most heartbreaking song I've ever heard. I use to sing this song a lot. Makes me miss love.❤️
Me too @ Joanna Bolin.
I'm sure you have found new love. 😏
As life goes on, I beg my loves to please come to New Orleans but they say no.
Yes, it's a lovely song, but also very sad. He wanted to experience other parts of the USA and made serious sacrifices to do so, while she just wanted to remain in Tennessee. That just shows you the relationship will never work!
Back when music was music and singers could actually sing.
Messages in every song. Life in every story they told
Well said Andrea !!!@@Andrea-yg1wh
Never forget Dan Fogelberg or the Bee Gees!👌🌈🎵🎵🔯
This song is the biggest sucker punch to my heart every time I hear it. I start out feeling good, then can't stop the tears by the end of the song. I was just 6 when this song came out, but I vividly remember hearing this and all the other great songs of the day over the radio as I sat in the back seats of my parents' cars. I think it just makes me miss those days, and how great life was back then.
The background vocals are ethereal and the last verse where he modulates his voice always, ALWAYS brings tears to my eyes. I am so lucky there is a song so magical that can always do this to me.
Indeed!!!!! ❤
❤
Me 2 😢
A bygone era of songs where the words and music took you to another realm. ❣
They wrote poems back then; I was lucky to start listening in 1963 when I was 7! Music is always there to help us make thru life, making the good times Greta and dealing with life’s challenges and grief! The 70s and 80s were the best, by far!
I was bouncing around in 1983 to 1987 while I was in the army. She would always say "no" until I came home... Gonna be married 31 years in a couple of weeks.
Me too. Coast Guard. 43 years-same story!

Still loving this in November 2019, anybody out there?
Yes .We are here.
Absolutely
Oh yeah! As we’re getting snow tonight in the mountains south west of Denver 1:14 17 years later my wife from the Philippines watches the snow fly with our two kids.
Here now, never leaving as our souls will be as the I love you echos of which he sings... coming back around
Right here😍😍😍
Wonderful song of the Seventies.Reminds me of my youth in America the memories will never go away!!
There will never be music like this again. Makes me proud to have been born in Tennessee
Getting lost in RUclips is so easy, especially when all the 60's and 70's life music is here. It is amazing
I totally agree!!! That's when music was actually understandable....😂😂😂😂😂
I'm gettin' lost as we speak.......peace to you.
I lived in Denver no place like it
RUclips is a time machine.
Because the 50s thru the 70 the best music EVER
Please come to Denver with the snowfall. We’ll move up into the mountains so far that we can’t be found. And throw I love you echos down the canyon. Man I love this song…… still.
I was born in Denver in 62.....I remember those snow capped mountains as a kid. I'd pay a million just to go back in time without the knowledge I have now.
@ I’ve never seen the snow capped mountains in Denver. Well, I’ve never been there. Maybe that’s why.
I liked this song in 1974 when it was first released. Nothing has changed in 42 years.
+James Muscarella me too..
He's from east Tennessee
Late 1974 I was in the Army and getting transferred from San Antonio to Alaska. This song played several times a day prior to my departure. I was not eager to make the move. I left behind someone special and I knew I'd never be back again.
My husband used to play this for me on his guitar ,,, I miss him so very much . We traveled EVERY where in our volxwagon bus.
I'm sure he's with U every day, and his love resonates in the music U shared & bonded to. Music is magic. Resonance is the substance of all matter... the loving resonates & nvr ceases.
Sounds beautiful
Do you by any chance live in Colorado?
Sounds like the love a lifetime... God bless you.
If your husband liked this song he had great tastel
God bless
As a confirmed 80 year old, I want to look forward to see what tomorrow will bring. But, when I hear this song, the experiences I've had through my life tug at me and I cant control the feeling that wants years past!
Beautiful song! Brings tears. So lucky growing up in the 70s! Such a great era for music!
Hello Victoria, How are you doing?
The sad thing is Not many songs from the 70s get billions of views like the 80s and after But SHOULD HAVE
The best!
I grew up in Boston. This song is my life. The 60's and 70's were a special time. There ain't no time ever gonna replace it. Miss my home town every now and then. But I love my Alabama.
Rest in Peace, Dave Loggins.💙
Great song, great songwriter.

The sixties and seventies were turbulent times Thank God we had these great performers to listen to.
I listened to songs like this as a kid, now 62 and still listening to these treasures
At 61 I too have those memories...those songs that transport us back to the 70s. Was it the decade ? was it our age ..our youth ? I see in the comments that some have lost a spouse and are reminded of them. Humans....how we love and recall. Music like this is rare today....I,ll take the 70s.
Oh, how they do transport you back to it seems an easier time, I'm 68 and YOUTube makes it possible to go back to a time that was, wish I could stay. :(
I'm 62 years old ….Lost my wife 8 months ago ..Cancer ...I've been playing these classics since ..Gives me some sort of comfort I guess..I think we remember this as the best time of our lives ..before the hurt of growing up really began
Oh, to turn back time!
@@richardpoindexter6322 So sorry, Hope the music comforts you.
Beautiful era 💕
I am 66 and spend my nights the same. I wish to turn back the clock and spend these special moments again with my ailing wife. all of these artist are not in concert perhaps but they still live in our hearts
I wish I could go back and do a few things over with my late husband of 42 years...this song brings back such good memories, I know how you feel Gary...Heartfelt...
What a beautiful song!!!! I feel sorry sometimes for the younger generation. You can't really know how special the 70 s were unless you lived them
Best time to grow up and definitely the best music ever
Michaels Laflamme, 1980's baby here saying i wish we could go back to the 70's. I bet those were some really good times. "Things today suck where people are so devided by our own government.
Amen my brother! We were blessed to grow up surrounded by a magical time in music. It was beautiful, songs that touched hearts & souls, songs that changed lives...
@@nicolemagincalda8452 you
I was a child in the 70's & a teen in the 80's.
You got that right. Wish I could go back.
A memory of a time when when America AND
the world was a MUCH MUCH BETTER PLACE
This song reminds me of simpler times, when there were less problems, people actually talked face to face, no cell phones, campfires, picnics, friends, family, now its cold business oriented trips, I miss the life I once had, even the traveling was fun with C.B 's the communication form! I honestly would have been happier in Alaska, where there was still frontier spirit! ❤🙅🎶
One of the most happy times in my life, I hadn't yet been touched by the ugliness of Love, the jealousy, the envy, all Love was Pure, Divine, and Warm and Beautiful! 💗🙅🙌✌🌹
Kathy Lyons if you are visiting a close family member if you notice they are texting and they always have their phone in their hand and when you are talkin they're not even paying attention to what you're saying
Progress? As we see isn't necessarily progress.
How are you doing today Kathy, my pleasure to meet you here today , I’ve been listening tot this song for years now & it sounds exactly the same in 2024.
You know a song is good when it can make you feel nostalgic for a place you're never been. :-)
Yeah, now my partner has gone, I doubt I will ever know
its not too late....
True, but then we all have our own "there" to hold on to
I love what you said...I get those feelings too. Aint it great? Some music definitely goes right to the soul and grabs you, makes you cry and wish someone would just sweep you off your feet!
I love my playlist..the music makes me cry ..it's got so many wonderful songs from back IN THE DAY

Born 1959. Loved this from my teen years in the 70s
Takes me to the 70's. BEST TIME IN MY LIFE.

Lisa Anders I miss the 70's and it's innocence, or mine. It was the best time for many things. Between the 60's and the 70's we were given some of the best musicians ever put on this earth. That era will never be forgotten. God Bless and always remember......

This was a great song all of the 70s they take me down memory lane when life was easy and peaceful but did not realize it
"Please Come To Boston".... Loving these classic's from the 70's!!
Dave Loggins was seriously - criminally - underrated. What a great songwriter.
I miss this freedom and innocence.
Was listening to this in college in 1974 when I was 17. Now I'm 63 still listening and loving this song.
Hello Penny, How are you doing?
RIP Dave Loggins such great talent
This is one of those catchy tunes getting straight under your skin...what a terrific song folks!
Please come to Boston. . This reminds me of the summer of 1974, I was 13 almost 14. Summertime was all mine and my world was just a playground with just a few open doors. I Love it..
Patrice Boulanger I was 19 yrs old in the Marine Corps staioned at Camp Foster Okinawa when this was a hit. Miss those days.
I was 11 years old that summer, lots of good times and many sad times as well!!, Sorry, my mistake, I was 10 years old that Summer, I was born in February of 1964.

I've been to 47 states and a couple of other countries. I'm 60 and still a rambling boy, this song takes me back to my teens.
The high notes from 3:39 to the end are heart wrenching!

RIP Dave Loggins After all these years I still think this song is so beautiful and heartbreaking. ❤ thank you Dave Loggins for sharing your heart music.
I remember listening to great music like this on the radio in Los Angeles in the 70s. I'm grateful to have grown up there then.
This song definitely makes you think of different choices we could have made in this life.

+Daniel Currie Fantastic Comment!!
Heard it the first time when it was released in the early 70s and loved it ever since. Drives my wife mad after 30 years of marriage she still comments on my playing of it at any chance The children ALWAY join it with it laughing at how the after all these years know the words. A great song and singer. Thanks for the post,
I kind of wish this song was about my life sometimes. Always wanted to be a rambling man!
I'm a rambler in spirit............it's good for a while, then as you age, it's lousy.
Bajandoug when you said she I thought it was going to be a he good for you that you have been together with your soulmate for all those years lucky lady not too many people can say that
Loved this song! Dave had the perfect voice for it. A lot of warm memories go with it.
"And throw ""I love you"" echoes down the canyons, and then lie awake at night until they come back around" If that line isn't of the highest effort at seeking another's love, I don't know what is.

+GREGORY RUSSO Give it up dude, she's most likely banging someone else as I type this.
+GREGORY RUSSO your. a real man to speak your heart. my love is like you. Good luck, my friend. Cathy b
Oh my gosh, this song takes me back to being a kid in the 70s. RIP, and thanks so much for the memories.
Oh the nostalgia....i get so choked up listening to this, im not sure why. I miss how things were back then
This music was magic, was deep & meaningful & powerful. We were blessed to grow up with such amazing artistry, music that resonated in hearts & souls
Lynne, the difference being, our music was born from the heart, and resides in our soul. It touches every fiber of our being, and it truly does transcend time and space, it can takes us back in a split second, and remind us of the Love we shared, with everyone in our lives. Ah-h-h, the music was so much better then.
Well for good or bad, we can't undo things. Just smile to yourself and remember the good times.
Its because you still have love in your heart. I wish more people were like that.
Great Job on the video. Touching Images.
