2:20 Oh I never noticed this Is that referencing Robin William's "Good morning Vietnam"? Cool video as always, I don't play Serious Sam anymore but everytime I see your video I feel like completing those silly -broken- secrets
Yeah, I guess. It's a bit of a weird reference as Babylon is modern day Iraq. Unless Sam (and the developers) are just making the joke that the level's art design could basically place it anywhere in Asia, or in Vietnam. I'm probably overthinking this. They've proven themselves to have a very odd sense of humour.
The best tactic will the Invulnerability on the level's last secret is to grab it after you touched the stone. Once the area is cleared from those Kamikazes heading straight to you, grab the Invulnerability and the Serious Damage. You can cause some utter chaos. Just keep moving until you killed every Arachnoid, Zum'bul and Reptiloids you see before any of the 2 runs out.
The Kleer room is fun as well the whole level for the most part imo. In HD version when Serious Dmg spawns you can grab a chainsaw hold it and skeletons will Die during their jump animation without touching you (not always but if one after another you can be very cheap that way)
I always found it hard tho to make these suburbs like maps worth the while. It's pretty limited when it comes to possible battle designs and making it fun can be a difficult task
I personally think Serious mode should be much more difficult.. I am playing Serious Sam 3 on Serious,it is kinda hard-ish,but planning to play on Mental mode after it,I already finished it on Normal mode! Also one last thing - I loved the outro where you died! :'D
"When they spam reptiloids like that" Everything, EVERYTHING is very First Encounter-like. The way the level is made itself is very FE-like. You could remove all the monsters and it still looks like a FE map, just with stuff reskinned to look like Babylon instead of Egypt. I'm glad they recycled this instead of throwing it away, I wonder why they decided to make SE easier and less dense than FE.
I think it's just a shift in fight design philosophy. SE seems more deliberate with its enemy placements, while FE just scatters them all over. Every bit of the map that could hold even a little bit of a fight will do so in FE. SE is more methodical about it. The challenge in FE lies in unpredictability, while SE relies on enemy combinations and environment. Honestly, I find a lot of FE a bit tedious to deal with, but I do concede that SE could have used a bit more chaos.
The Kleer room with double barrel gun was nightmare at 400% enemy strength at Mental. Cant see enemies half the time and they take longer to die flame thrower is not good enough then. I found you can use the first 2 kleers who jump down at you. Use them to jump up on the opposite platform. Behind platform door sliding is a passage extending to both sides of door evenly inside the wall. Can hide inside and take out kleers as they spawn inside passage there. There is a balanced passage on both sides of platform doors inside behind the slider door. One kleer spawns each side and 2 jump out into the main fighting room at a time. Inside the wall, Usually one attacks you if closer to side you are on inside. The one spawning on opposite of you in that passage is blind just goes and jumps out ignoring you. Go to platform edge kill 2 kleers below with flame or rifle and run back in before 2 spawn. Thin them out then jump them. This level is bad at 400% enemy strength and so many big enemies no machine gun.
Oh yes! My favorite episode. I still can't decide which map I like more in that episode, Ziggurat or Elephant Atrium. 0:46 there's 10 shells (20 on serious) behind those pillars.
I finally completed The Second Encounter the other day and I'm happy to see you keep playing it :) I'm very curious to see how you handle the last few levels on serious difficulty, they were brutal!
To be honest i think they are not that difficult if you get stocked fully with all best weapons. Nothing beats Metropolis and he did It like it's Nothing xd
Now I admit to playing this through Revolutions, but I ended up with 561 out of 573 (yes, 57*3* enemies). Now, the guys really brushed up with FE, in that I think all the enemies that are impossible to kill have been removed, so you can actually get 100% kills. In SE though, it seems unchanged... except for this level, it seems. I dunno... Just so you know, I had something like 264 kills at the end of the Suburbs area. In any case, good playthrough! I too like this map. The music for the next level is really good!
i know this is probably late as you already did the broken kill counts, but the heart that you jump down to is also gettable from the room below with the switch, one of the pillars has an open side and the heart is located inside it, which makes it much easier to avoid spikes. problem is that you get launched back up
What's your opinion on the HD counterparts ? I first got into Serious Sam all because of the HD versions and your channel has been a blessing to watch!
One of TSE's downsides is, in my opinion, the weapon balance. Sniper Rifle has way too much ammo. They should've narrowed it down to like 20 or 30 (like they did in BFE). It basically replaces rocket and grenade launchers, making them useless. And the Flamethrower... oh man. It's by far the most overpowered weapon in your arsenal. Notice how you practically NEVER EVER use shotguns in TSE. Say goodbye to killing kleers with a point-blank double barrel blast. Those are cool weapons, but it looks like Croteam didn't have the time to properly integrate them into the arsenal and balance them out.
I agree, but also not. The grenade launcher is great for bunches of Kleer, and the rocket launcher is still good for Harpie groups. The problem is more that TSE doesn't throw as many enemies at you as TFE, so you have more time to pick them off one by one.
@@Laki99000 Well, he's not wrong, but shotguns are still practically useless in TSE. And lack of big fights doesn't matter in this case. It's just that the flamethrower kills everything at close range much better than shotguns. No wonder this weapon didn't appear in 2 or 3 (and hopefully 4). It's just too broken and has WAY too much ammo. That's my main complaint for the sniper rifle as well. You just never run out of ammo, no matter how much you use it. If it had a cap of like 20 or 30 then it would force you to think when it's worth using and when it's not. The chainsaw also reduces gnaars and marsh hoppers' threat level to zero. It sure feels nice to use, but it does break the balance, the same way other new TSE weapons do. TFE weapon set is 100% balanced. Not a single weapon feels like it's worthless or overpowered. But TSE weapons mess with that balance. That's my complaint.
This level has great music in my opinion :D I knew I should leave some sunflower for today XD Perfect timing Decino! 2:20 lol he should say "Greetings everyone and welcome to Babylon" 29:10 are you gonna stop complaining someday? :DDD

Man, I don't even want to know how many times you had to practice getting that first secret. That shit took me like 30 tries to figure out how to jump down there to get it without dying.
If I learned one thing from the Serious Sam games, it's that picking up an armor shard/health pill that's inconspicuously all by its lonesome will summon a monster that will take that gain from you many, MANY times over!
Before watching your videos I always thought that Serious Sam was just a stupid shooter with no logic and all, but thanks to you I now better understand the game and want to try it out! Thank you
Yeah, it's kind of weird but Serious Sam is actually a lot more fun if you know what you're doing, and kind of no fun at all if you suck at it. You can cheese your way through it on the lower difficulties but that's really not the best way.
Thanks for the walkthrough of this beautiful haunting level. My favourite so far in this game. By the way. ..Do you think ZEROMASTER knows about the broken spawn in this series?🤔 Haha I just want to tease you buddy. Is not meant 'serious'ly.😜❤❤

Forgot to leave a comment on the last one... I think the final fight of this map resembles Pac Man play field, with those 4 Serious Damage as Power Pellets or some sort. When you said you don't really like TSE, I was thinking that you don't like the gimmicks from TSE. Then the first gimmicky level I can relate is the Pit. Unexpectedly, you like the Pit. I guess I'm still not a good enough audience ;P
Wow I was just watching your Broken Spawns in TFE video. I'm trying to make a SS map and it's helping me a lot with the spawner stuff. Yh, I also get really high TFE vibes on this level. I've always thought this was an alternate Suburbs design that got replaced with the final one. I also want to ask you two questions: 1) Will you play Bright Island? 2) I wanted to ask you this in your TFE walkthrough, I don't know why I didn't. You mentioned that before finding out that you can stuck Ugh Zahn, you skipped his trigger. I'm really interested in how you actually did that. I would be really thankful I you share the trick with me.
1. If it's fully patched and they got rid of all the dumb sections I'll give it ago. 2. I used a rocket+grenade to jump over the touchfield that triggers the Ugh-Zan cutscene. It's pretty precise and you're not allowed to take any damage beforehand.
Do you get a new message/diary entry every time you kill the first instance of a monster in a level, or is it just a thing because you never opened them in this playthrough?
This level was very fun in the VR port, juggling the duel-weapon combo and the sniper rifle, especially thanks to arsenal reset. Though those Demons and Reptoloids are still so annoying, even with a rapid fire sniper rifle.

Talk about the Devastator, at least the Raptor isnt so effective VS highly armored targets
Those gibs that come out of the hole where the Marsh Hoppers spawn are Zorgs. Some damager just gibs them.
You'd have to be quite the terrible shot to run out of sniper ammo on this level.
Man, I don't even want to know how many times you had to practice getting that first secret.
That shit took me like 30 tries to figure out how to jump down there to get it without dying.
The method I use is pretty consistent. Jump, then slightly tap your forward key once in the air. Repeat until you fall and grab the health.
when I played TSE HD my favorite thing to do was set a weak enemy like a kamikaze on fire and watch them dance
I personally dont like how if you use a weapon the item box shakes. Get hit health box shakes. Whats with the convulsions??
If I learned one thing from the Serious Sam games, it's that picking up an armor shard/health pill that's inconspicuously all by its lonesome will summon a monster that will take that gain from you many, MANY times over!
love the music here and
gOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING BABYLOON!!
By the way. ..Do you think ZEROMASTER knows about the broken spawn in this series?🤔
Haha I just want to tease you buddy. Is not meant 'serious'ly.😜❤❤
I love the babylon maps themes, blue and gold.
Man i really never pinged you as a guy so diehard wizardlike with serious sam games, your ep about the broken kill counts only furthered my belief that it was a bitch of a game to find and eradicate everything. TSE kicked my shit in so hard. Love your content and your voice, keep popping those headless dirtbags!
I used to love playing the gamecube Serious Sam
That one's great!
Wow I was just watching your Broken Spawns in TFE video. I'm trying to make a SS map and it's helping me a lot with the spawner stuff. Yh, I also get really high TFE vibes on this level. I've always thought this was an alternate Suburbs design that got replaced with the final one. I also want to ask you two questions:
1) Will you play Bright Island?
2) I wanted to ask you this in your TFE walkthrough, I don't know why I didn't. You mentioned that before finding out that you can stuck Ugh Zahn, you skipped his trigger. I'm really interested in how you actually did that. I would be really thankful I you share the trick with me.
1. If it's fully patched and they got rid of all the dumb sections I'll give it ago.
2. I used a rocket+grenade to jump over the touchfield that triggers the Ugh-Zan cutscene. It's pretty precise and you're not allowed to take any damage beforehand.
@@decino Thank you so much. You're the best.
Do you get a new message/diary entry every time you kill the first instance of a monster in a level, or is it just a thing because you never opened them in this playthrough?
Never opened them.
This level was very fun in the VR port, juggling the duel-weapon combo and the sniper rifle, especially thanks to arsenal reset.
Though those Demons and Reptoloids are still so annoying, even with a rapid fire sniper rifle.
30:08 😂 The bull was making noise the whole time
also rock physics woa
Two yards where you have to touch gems are identical with just one difference - everything is posted the other way around from the other.
20:20 KILLED ME, I've never seen that secret before!
15:02 Decino during cold war.
Another Decino video, what a great time to be alive :-)
Will you consider streaming your attempts at this? Would watch the shit out of it, particularly Serious Sam tho
Probably not. I only livestream on special occasions such as subscriber milestones.
@@decino aw man. Throw in some questionnaire, I think some people WILL be interested in it. Anyways its up to you, just sayin' I'd be passionate about your streams
It's not that I don't want to. My workstation is located in the living room, so livestreaming isn't always possible because of other people living here. Gotta plan it in advance.
29:14 Pay attention, there is a catastrophic error!!!! Do not shoot until it comes out in the middle of a square, if you kill it without it coming out in the middle of a square, you will be locked up, and you cannot complete a level
Decino, are you interested in creating tournament for the SS 2nd encounter at some point in future?
It's been a long time since I played this game with other people on multiplayer servers.
Sounds interesting, but not anytime soon.
SS has potential to make parties in both coop and dm. TSE DM had dm tournaments until 2018. This year there were no tournaments.
Where can I see upcoming events like that? I would really like to play SS multiplayer again, just like in the old days
@@Laki99000 Btw, do you remember the name of the software that was used to change your nickname on multiplayer servers with all those cool effects
@@benibabic2647 For now all communities gave up from making ss events until ss4 comes out. However all ss games have active multiplayer but you have to join in a right time.
That nickname software program is for classic tfe and tse only. It's called Name Editor v1.4
When I was a kid, I hated the flamethrower and I never used it. Maybe I should've used it more seeing how it obliterates kleers (I was terrified of these assholes lol)
Yet another TSE level with great fighting music.
Platforming of player with physics of potato bag...
8:37 Me when water
decino you should make the Kamez sound effect your text tone lol
Parts of this map particularly the first pyramid interior remind me of Quake. How long does serious damage last?
Forty seconds.
I like this chapter of TSE
Persia is really good
14:00 Kleers have death animation?!
In classic they do.
Does the sniper rifle cause more damage when in secondary firing mode (zoom)?
It does, it even mentioned within ingame description.
300 damage zoomed in. 70(?) damage not zoomed in.
Certain monsters (Reptiloids, Biomech Majors) take reduced damage.
Apparently, weapon resistances weren't carried over to HD (green Reptiloid goes down in 2 sniper shots, as opposed to 3 in classic).
@@MrEvilbyte thanks for the details! I'm getting more and more interested in the differences between HD and Classic.
@@MrEvilbyte However they balanced it out by slowing down Sniper's firing rate in HD.
Can agree that the RAPTOR needs a nerf on its magazine load, but if anyone wants to feel better, why not pretend that the thing only has a 20-round load and stop using it... and perhaps ignore some of the ammo pickups.
2:30: Oh, woe, woe, woe to the unfortunate harsher in hindsight angle of Good Morning, Vietnam when it comes to poor Sir Robin's fate.
3:32: They may be weaksauce, but I sure miss the mass hordes of these guys at this point.
5:50: Now I know how Nice Holystone felt with the Rail Tracer's handiwork from Baccano!. Really love that show (preferably in its English dub), even if it didn't get a second season or at least ten more eps.
7:58: RAPTOR would easily beg to disagree. How could you, Sam?
9:24: Improbable would be the right word, but eh, I'm with you on skipping the goddam section.
Can't be a TFE love letter mission if it doesn't have a lot of broken spawners.
Hmm, was expecting the outtakes to be about the two hassle sections.
10:00 ``... just make a flat ground... and you have a level``
I see what you did here: flat = level :)
It's too annoying that flamethrower does not destroy green spells, I wonder why !
About this Super Armor upon the pit. I never played original SS SE, only HD version, but wasn't the pit supposed to be a passage to a secret teleporter with Seriuos Bomb? Is this secret absent in original version?
That's a secret exclusive to the HD version.
very first encounter, how did that rock kill you and not the clear??
Are you going to play Serious Sam Classic Revolution the Bright Island Gampaing?
isn't it still unfinished?
last time i played it(few months ago), it was unavailable
Yes please, Decino needs to show everyone how terrible it is, maybe Croteam will listen to him since he's popular.
I may once it's fully done i.e. patched and fix the bullshitty sections.
@@tomez3738 It got released like a week ago, or two.
@@tomez3738 It is finished but it needs bugfixing and fight balancements. I would have done it myself when they were in need of mappers 2 months ago but I didn't have time unfortunately.
8:22 I did that part in HD's hard mode using only the knife and colts. Definitely a proud moment.
Hey @decino ,since I wanted to do a Doom Walkthrough after Mafia, I installed Gzdoom and wanted to set it up. When I ran the game in fullscreen mode, the game freezed but the sound was there and I could control the Daisy cursor. Can you help?
No clue since I don't use GZDoom. Try a different source port?
Alright, what do you use? Crispy Doom?
PrBoom+.
Yea, gib as in giblets. The John Romero said so. 🤘
Hi decino. Is there any other way to get 2th secret, the heart I mean. That's what wiki says. Just a safer way
In ther spirar pillars next area.
Are you thinking about bringing serious sam 3 or the first encounter to the channel?
Serious Sam 3 no, but I did do a 16-player co-op livestream which you can find here: ruclips.net/video/M3QtUxvogc0/видео.html
I already did TFE: ruclips.net/p/PLYZp53E4M0t9PQJhOmZgOH8MKcWGpBdUc
@@decino Serious Sam 2 then? It's utterly crazy :P
I never enjoyed playing SS2.
