Here's the full script: This is your (1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th) cleaning. Your video and audio heads will now be cleaned. This is a mono audio test (mono audio test). Stereo audio test: right channel (right channel stereo audio test). Stereo audio test: left channel (left channel stereo audio test). 1st-4th Cleanings: Your video and audio heads are now clean. Press Stop and Eject tape now. Do not Rewind. 5th Cleaning: Do not press Stop. Leave VCR in play and depress and hold the Rewind/Scan Search button until tape is fully rewound.
I have this VHS, and it was one of three Scotch Head Cleaning VHS tapes. I also have the first one from about 1985, and then the Scotch Head Cleaning Plus from 1993 and this one from 2004, but it has a copyright of 1996 or so if I have to check the copyright on the screen. There were also a few variants of this Scotch Head Cleaning VHS tape. There was the Target variant, the Blockbuster variant and some others that had this one.
When I was a very little kid I would want to find that VHS tape, take and rub to watch it in my room becuz of the space and stars , I thought it was pretty
Sounds like someone might have left their GSM phone next to the audio cables while it was using data? Has that characteristic "clicky poppy" sound to it.
My mom bought this same tape but ours was from 1995 a target exclusive she used it on our emerson vcr infrequently we had a wet type we used more often
The tape is a statically charged ribbon that goes through and picks up the dirt and debris off the head as it cleans. They work 100% in mostly all cases and it does absolutely no damage to the VCR. They are not abrasive in any way.
@ROMMIX There was all kinds of gimmicks but I use dry cleaners first and then I use a wet cleaner a couple of times to polish it off. This is when I first get a VCR. Once It's in my house I know it's clean and I just run a cleaning tape every so many dozen tapes like normal.
Not really. Cleaner tapes are specially designed to remove physical debris from the heads and tape path. A blank tape is just a normal tape that happens to contain no intelligible magnetic signal. It's not purpose built for cleaning. However, I have seen people note that running newer, good condition tapes through a VCR helps playback of sticky tapes without wasting a cleaner tape.
Y'all need to make more vhs heading cleaning tapes everything proven people like myself are Wiching vhs tapes now days everything proven vhs tapes don't lock up at all like internet does in the future
Internet is the worst everything is proven vhs tapes don't lock up at all everything proven people like myself are fixing broken vhs tapes with Scotch tape it starts playing again with out no problem's
Thank you for cleaning my computer.
This is so nostalgic! Watching my parents testing this on my VCR as a tyke is what got me into space science.
Audio tests definitely work for the computer and found out that I had a flipped orientation to my speakers.
Before toy story, before the avengers, there was scotch cleaning!
Still beautiful, still relaxing. Brings me back to the golden age.

I used to get scared and run out the room when my dad used it to clean our VCR. Didn't help that he had those big speakers connected.
Sounds threatening
*DO NOT REWIND*
Especially when it rapidly flashes like that
If you rewind it, there is a slight chance that it would do more damage to the head then before

I remember this. Brings back memories. :)
nope this video is broken. didnt clean my youtube account at all.
I remember this. My mother used this to clean my Winnie the Pooh VHS tapes....
This tape cleans the machine, not the tape itself (the tape basically never needs cleaning).
Is that what you meant?
@@44R0Ndin I wasn't sure

Well then I guess you're one of today's lucky 10,000

i got stoned and now im watching on loop for hours...
I want to know if these tapes really did a damn thing to clean the VCR, lol
They did, and still do. I use this tape on occasion.
They worked for the one in my parents suburban when I was a kid
@@VectraQS even after the supposed 5 cleanings?
Trvia: The sound being used in the audio tests is the XP coin sound in _Fortnite._
I watched it a lot I managed to wait till it's done without rewinding.
When I was a little kid I used to think that the spaceship the flew away at the end, was made out of hockey pucks.
So what are you supposed to do once you run out of cleanings? You toss the VHS and get a new one?
What happened if i pressed rewind button by accident?
You most likely recontaminate the vcr heads I think
At the end it tells you to rewind
Jail.

I just had a horrible realization just now that I’m so frickin old.
I know I still have that tape on my basement somewhere.
2:56 What's wrong with the left channel stereo audio?
Sounds like someone might have left their GSM phone next to the audio cables while it was using data?
Has that characteristic "clicky poppy" sound to it.
British Skeleton: Got any dirty videos?
this was hell for my headphones
Feel nostalgic
Any differences between this version and the one from 1995?
1995 version has a copyright screen at the beginning, and that's about it.
My mom bought this same tape but ours was from 1995 a target exclusive she used it on our emerson vcr infrequently we had a wet type we used more often

How did this clean again?
This comment originally didn't explain it correctly. See the comment below.

I dooo this to many times to view clear the tape of The Return of the Living Dead 🤣🤣
Can a blank video tape if you play it from the beginning to the end to clean video head ?
