In this episode, join me on a unique restoration journey as I tackle unexpected challenges! A customer returned a frame for a re-spray, but after shot blasting, a hidden rust issue emerged - the seat-tube had rusted through! Watch as I share the step-by-step process of replacing the damaged tube, and breathing new life into the frame.
But the challenges didn't end there! Stay tuned to see how I got creative when faced with a shortage of seat-clamps. I had to improvise and craft custom seat-clamps from scratch using Cindy, my trusty Cincinnati CNC machine.

That was a really good watch.
Thank you!
Loved watching this, Burf. Decent snaps at the end 😉
Stoked to hear you enjoyed it!
frikkin amazing craftsmanship dude!!
Thanks mate. Appreciate you ❤️
Just fascinating to watch the care and impressive craftsmanship! Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub!
Ah what good fella you are. Looks brilliantine the colour is just Mmm Mmm
The colour looked insane in the sun. Candy purple.
Machine up some soft jaws to fixture the seat clamps for the backside chamfer dude. Quick, easy and accurate 👌🏻
Yeah, could easily knock something up, but I wanted something clever like a pallet or fixture that could do a bunch in one go and be repeatable. Just needed one for this frame so just got-er-done in a hurry.
Very cool. Would love to see a video about your tube miter machine.
You're not the first to say that. I need to get that sorted.
Yeah Cindy in action. Glad to see all the effort to fix it pay off with it making parts.
Thanks! I'm so stoked she works too. It's such a relief. She's not 100% though, the old pc has some funky quirks for sure.
Craftsman at work. Superb.
Thank you very much!
That’s some impressive accuracy with the die grinder there! My technique involves getting close to where I want to be then having it snatch and shake me and the workpiece around like rag dolls turning all involved to scrap….
I know what you mean, just need to keep a firm grip on the grinder so it can't start bouncing.
So good!
Thanks mate!
Love the Videos Paul! May you invest in a separate Microphone for your Voice 🤘🏻
You are right, I should, and I want to. But I can't justify spending money on the videos at the moment. They don't bring any revenue to the company and this video took days to edit. So I need to see some return before I can spend more money on the videos.
@@BTR-Fabrications absolutely understandable! fingers crossed🫶🏻
Great work, really interesting. What colour was that powder coat? Looked stunning.
Thanks mate. The colour is candy purple from Powder FX
Also props for not being a GIANT TIG CUP clown like the rest of the internet!
Ahhh ha ha ha. Yeah, innit. Not needed for steel and it's just a waste of gas.
Good video, what's the music?
It's from a cd called Mad Fabricators. The tube isn't flagging it as cp'd so I think I keep using it...
It's good I like it, fits well
