I like how y'all say why someone might like or not like each book - super helpful. Another couple standout 2022 sci fi releases for me were Goliath by Tochi Onyebuchi and Bluebird by Ciel Pierlot!
Just discovered you gents channel. While I cover mostly Fantasy I've been wanting to expand more into Sci-Fi. I'll be starting Adrian Tchaikovsky in Nov. I'll be checking the rest of your content in the meantime -Cheers
Eyes of the void is another book (like Nona The Ninth) that should not be read standalone. It needs to be read in order eg after Shards. It's essentially just one story .I've read all, I think the series could have done with cutting down to two books.
Added “The Mountain and the Sea” to the reading list. Thanks for the rundown. None of the nominees really excited me this year.
For sure - hope you like it!
It's so good.

Thanks for the recs!
The last three recommendations sound way better than the Hugo nominees. Specially "Sea of tranquility". Great episode!
Sea of tranquility is really good. Mendel really likes to play with genres and she is a really good writer

For sure, hope you love it! Which of his books are you gonna read first?
@@hugonautspod I'm thinking Children of Time

Sadly most awards and award shows have become about things other than merit.
