    Just did a search for an idea for brisket chili, and your recipe here of course popped up. I had a recipe already that I got from the bbq pit boys, but I didn't really like it. I like the looks of yours.
    Last week I had just smoked aan 18 pound brisket that was very good but way to much for my wife and I to eat, so I stuck the rest of it in the freezer. Now I can do something with it this weekend.
    Thanks from So Calif.

    Pretty ok recipe. I never have left over brisket though. I have to cook a fresh one. I would have removed the bacon. Leavin just the grease so the onions can cook down more evenly.

    Getting one can of dark beer was the biggest challenge but Winco came through. I made a couple other variations (no coffee, mostly) but it's a great recipe. It's what's for dinner with a pan of freshly baked cornbread. Thank you, gentlemen.

      @LouT1501 we are glad you were able to find a dark beer! And good to know Winco was the spot. WE love that store! Employee owned! The cornbread sounds delicious with this recipe. Great addition you made! Thank you for stopping by and leaving us a comment.

    Love from Texas. Looks good! Suggestions?
    1. Maybe add some Black Beans?
    2. Smoked Paprika is your friend.
    3. Brisket looks amazing. Maybe cut into smaller pieces.
    4. I'd make this for sure. Any man starts with bacon fat know what's up.

      Can't go wrong with black beans & smoked paprika - thanks for all the suggestions! We'll give it a try next time we're making a batch of chili.

    weight on the brisket?

    • @MontanaOutlawBBQ
      @MontanaOutlawBBQ  11 месяцев назад

      This brisket was likely 10-15 lb. When we do comp, we use ~20lb briskets from Marbled of Montana - we sometimes use the leftovers for recipes like this Brisket Chili.

    you guys have leftover brisket???

    • @MontanaOutlawBBQ
      @MontanaOutlawBBQ  Год назад +1

      We sure do @Alex Zimbalist. We may have leftover brisket from our cooking competitions or from our shooting on our channel. We have had other subscribers ask us what can you do with the extra. So we wanted to share one example of what we like to do with leftover brisket.

      @@MontanaOutlawBBQ I guess it's just a problem I never have. If you ever have too much extra brisket I am happy to help :}

    Who the hell has leftover brisket?

    • @MontanaOutlawBBQ
      @MontanaOutlawBBQ  Год назад

      Well @Richard Jarvis we are glad you asked. We sometimes have extra after competitions (usually other competitors and fans eat up the extra) or our video shoots for the channel. Multiple times on the channel we were asked by fellow contestants what we would cook with our extra brisket. This video is just one of many examples of how we would use "leftover brisket".
