People who say Rickles is the best Ganon do not know what they're talking about. You are just so much more technically proficient in your openings, better calculated at making riskier plays, and your edge guarding is disgusting it honestly blows my mind.
@virsity Hey there, and thank you! I think he's still in the bottom 5 range, but this game is significantly more balanced than any other smash game so it barely even matters imo. Truly any character can win, it just takes more effort sometimes
You probably don't need me to tell you this but you weren't playing the gnw matchup well. Gnw is a character that wins by mashing braindead options. If your punishes and whiff punishes are not air-tight, you're going to get punished for trying to retaliate. You can only win by beating out his moves with a large disjoint or punishing his punishable moves. If you're not confident going for a punish, don't go for the punish. Gnw has no neutral, so he will be pressured into choosing an option just by being in an unfavorable position. After making him choose an option, eventually, one of those options will be punishable by you. It's like with cloud, you win mostly by gaining ground not by trying to hit him and definitely not by touching his shield.
