Apologies for the double upload - the original version I posted this morning had a few errors in the editing (there was a blue screen that kept showing up ) so I fixed it real quick - and here it is!! Enjoy! Let me know your favorite yarn shop below!
Love the tour - that yarn crawl was to "dye" for... remember you can always have your cake yarn and knit it too! (that dog in front of Wild Hand was so adorable). I am headed to Homesewn in Media this weekend to get my Gritty kit
It’s the word Bok. We used to say ‘go to BOK and you will be ok’ 🤣 (you’d have a trade skill). Why they closed the voc tech school is beyond me, but that’s another story. The building has a lot of cool places. Thanks for showing Philly in a positive light❤️
This came up on my home page. As a crocheter who prefers nicer yarns for my personal use, this really appeals to me. I live in NJ, so I see the Center City shops in my future! Thanks!
Oh, hey…! Thanks for this! As a dedicated pedestrian, I’ve only visited the two shops (Loop and Yarnphoria) local to me. Now I’m thinking I need to borrow someone’s car! There are some lovely shops out there!
Ooo thank you for the great information. Loved seeing the shops inside & out. And was excited to see Sunset Fiber Co mentioned at Yarningtown. Val is a great Dyer.
Thank you for such a comprehensive video of the yarn crawl!!!! I teach and work at Purls of Wisdom, so I only made it to one other store besides my own. This was so lovely to see all of the stores!
So glad this popped up as a suggested video! I'm in Berks County near Lancaster County, so will have to hop over to the east to check out some of the closer shops - especially in Doylestown and Phoenixville! Now if I could only coordinate visiting the Phoenixville shop during Blobfest...hmm....
Thank you for such a great video of the Yarn Crawl! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the Sweet Potato Pie Colorway and hope to someday see what it becomes 😊😊
This is a terrific tour and very helpful. Only wish some comments on pricing, maybe $ - $$$$ in general of each shop were mentioned. I know the yarn is pricy but maybe some of the shops have sale or economical collections. Anyway, thanks so much for putting this together.
I loved the Philly Yarn crawl. I started at Homesewn in Media and ended my day at Wild Hand. The weather was absolutely perfect. Thanks for showing all the shops. How many days did it take you to visit all of the stores? I love the colorways that you picked. I'm hoping this will be a yearly tradition. It was AWESOME ❤
I think it will be - I was just checking the website and they already have the dates up for 2025!! I already marked my calendar 🤗 www.phillyyarncrawl.com/ It took me 3 days. I was originally planning to use all 4 days, but then I ended up doing double my original guess on the Saturday. Yes - the weather was so nice!!
Thanks so much for this video! I wasn’t able to participate in the crawl because I was traveling that week and weekend. I did pop into my local shop (Yarningtown!) on the last day of the crawl and got some sock yarn. I’ve been to a few of the others in your video, too, but it was so fun to see highlights from each stop on the crawl
You are so welcome! I hope they have it again next year so you can go! It seemed like it was really successful this year so I am hopeful it will be a yearly thing!
Love your video. I visited one of the yarn stores you featured. Wondering for the shops in Philly is there any public parking. You never mentioned in the video
For the Philly shops, I parked in one place and walked to them all (except Modest Transitions - that one I drove too). In Philly there is a lot of on street parking, sometimes you have to drive around for a bit, but usually I can find a free or metered spot somewhere close. I just stuck to one spot and walking because i'm not great a parallel parking 🤣
I think the parking fairies were with me that day. I would find the shop and look for parking. I put in quite a few steps that day. I didn't mind the walking. It was a fabulous day😊.
I parked once and then walked to all of the center city shops. It was beautiful weather so I did not mind walking and I am not great at parallel parking 😂The only exception was Modest Transitions - I drove from center city up to Fishtown.

Wasn't the gritty kit the best?!

I had no idea you were local to me! I live in Delaware County so HomeSewn is my LYS and I love it!!Great video!!
Yes - Philly suburbs! I LOVED HomeSewn - it had so much packed into such a cute space!

Love the pink yarn from Forever Yarn! Excited to see that project :)
I am so excited to make that - I feel like it will be a great summer project!
Thank you for showing all the shops around. I'm in Collegeville and never check to see what's around me..

Never been to Philly , lots of nice yarns , no time for prices ? 😮
This may be a dumb question as I don’t knit or know a lot about yarn, but do any of these stores carry yarn for needlepoint?
BOK is pronounced Bock (like the chicken sound) 😊. They do teach weaving classes but I don't know the current schedule.
Thank you for letting me know!! That makes it easy to remember 🙂
How did you find parking in Philly?
I think the parking fairies were with me that day. I would find the shop and look for parking. I put in quite a few steps that day. I didn't mind the walking. It was a fabulous day😊.

Miss ya! Where ya been?
Aww thanks! Still here, just veryyyyy slowly working on new videos 😂 Hopefully I’ll have a new one out in July and a few in the fall!
You always have the best videos. Hope to see ya soon.
It’s Bok, not b.o.k. It was a high school years ago
Thank you for letting me know!!
Thank you for a wonderful video. Please take this in the kind spirit in which it is given…you may want to work on your vocal fry.
