I love the Jiang siblings so much. They were so sweet! Despite how absolutely shattered their family was, dysfunctional isn't even extreme enough. Yet they had each other's backs and loved each other so much. Yet they lost Yanli, and other issues-both personal and emotional-and misunderstandings led the last two siblings to fall out in a massive blowout. Yanli is such a goos sister; she tried her best, but only when she finally decided to stop being pushed around, standing down, and not saying anything to people who insulted her and her brothers did she finally decide her voice had weight and she could defend her brothers like they defended her. She was taken far too early. I believe one reason Yanli went to the battlefield and did what she did was half her not overly thinking as she had recently lost her husband and now she could lose her brother. I don't think she was very mentally prepared to handle this, and honestly, she should have been watched by someone. yet she wasn't, and it allowed her to run off into a battlefield. The second thing is, I think her entire childhood she was the one who always was there after the damage, doing damage control due to her parents and trying her best to not let her brothers take to heart what they hear, but she was always shushed and never listened to when she tried. Yanli was meek, shy, and kind. She is too naive to know what she is talking about. I feel one of her regrets is that she never stood up enough to her mother or tried to get her father to explain or say anything to deescalate the situation, but I feel she thought her words meant nothing. I feel she had enough when she was an adult, and that was why she was no longer letting her voice not be heard by people. She would defend her brothers this time, especially Wei Ying, whom she knew needed the most support. He needed to know people were on his side no matter what, and this time she was going to shout it to the rooftops if she must. My theory is that there may have been an underlying feeling when she ran out there, but this time she wasn't going to let her brothers sacrifice for her or others. They shouldn't have to. I feel she would be the type to push her brothers, especially Wei Ying, to be a little selfish at times; there is nothing wrong with that. If she were around, I feel like so many of the things that happened wouldn't have happened. She would have understood the Wen residents plight; she would have explained it in a way that Jiang Cheng understood, or at least put water over the flame, so he calmed down. She was so vitel when you look at it. I have no doubt Jiang Cheng cared for and loved Wei Ying, but he had his own issues he was not dealing with well. Once Yanli was lost and no one was there to help him work through those issues-no support or rock to ground him-he kind of went off the rails. not saying Wei Ying didn't help in keeping all the secrets he did, breaking his promise despite his good reasoning. I do believe Jiang Cheng may not have reacted well either way, but the lying coming from the last person he thought he could trust was not helping his trust, insecurity, or anger issues. Meanwhile, Wei Ying was a ball of guilt and anxiety, knowing that multiple people's lives depended on him and that he was lying to his brother to keep them safe. He had to leave his own family and his clan because his simply existing and being allied with them made them a target for hostiles, and he couldn't tell them because he knew they wouldn't let him leave then. I had a theory that he wanted Jiang Cheng to hate him; if he hated him, then he wouldn't try to stop him from doing what he is doing. He wouldn't defend him, and if it went south, if he had to sacrifice himself, then he knew his family would be on the 'good' and 'winning' sides of the conflict. which they were, the Jiang remained a prominent clan and grew due to it. If they had sided with Wei Ying back then, they too would have been wiped out, as they were too weak to really deal with a second conflict. Wei Ying is smart; I think he was trying to protect everyone, even if that meant he was hated. He couldn't make the Wen residents not hated, so he had to protect them, but the Jiang's reputation wasn't destroyed yet; it just soured due to them shielding him. Without him, there would be no reason for the other clans to go against them. I find Yanli such an overlooked character; one person just makes super nice, and that is it, and while she is genuinely a good and kind person, I highly doubt she left her household without issues. I feel the reason she was so meek and quiet and followed all the rules is due to that being her 'proper place' with her kindness being the reason I think in any massive shouting match, do you think she would have been able to say or do anything? No, she most definitely would have been told to be quiet. It did not help; she was weak at cultivation. Her whole life, she was probably just there; she was beloved by her siblings, but she probably felt like such a failure as she could do nothing but console them after the bad things happened. She can't fight; she can't even argue in their defense. I feel that was why she was trying so hard to defend them; she got her voice back as she grew. She could now defend those she loved. The Jiang siblings all have issues, and those issues broke them apart. I miss the young Jiang siblings! Those typing this make me realize how massive the changes would be if Yanli had lived. They would be a lot bigger than I think people would imagine. Yanli loved her brothers and understood them the best and how to talk to them; she was very similar to Xichen in that regard. The fallout of Jiang Cheng and Wei ying may not have happened, or if it did, she would have forced an apology out of Jiang Cheng before it became bitter resentment. I know she wouldn't have judged the Wen's he was protecting, at least not without a story first; she would have probably understood their position. I can imagine that in this random idea, if things went south, she would have taken Shizui. She doesn't have much power over the Jin, but she would have been very kind to Mo Xuanyu, and I think she could have changed his story as well by being like a mom to him. I feel she could have also gotten Xichen to understand what was happening. Idk why, but I feel like she and Xichen would be besties, and why not let Wen Qing in as well? the big sibling club. I am rambling; I shall stop! I can say for a fact that I love your videos; very rarely do I ramble this much on other people's videos. You just put so much effort and thought into these, and how would they react? I love it, and it makes me think as well!
I'm not good at speaking English well it's not my native language but for some reason I don't like how Lan Zhan thinks in this dimension, I understand that he is an AU and that he cares about Wei Ying but I think he should let Wei Ying be "free" or that he doesn't question himself something that happened in his original world besides that Wei Ying even though he went through many bad things he was at least happy at the time and is currently happy. I like the AU I just wanted to vent because in a certain part it makes me uncomfortable. i just my opinion , plis no hate , i like it your videos :3 continue like this :D
I like listening to anyone's opinion and it's OK I understand your point but I still want to explain lan wangji's thought, anyway are you talking about when he said he doesn't like wei wuxian the thought of wei wuxian in the jiangs ? Well as we know this is an AU and in this AU yu ziyuan still hated wei wuxian and even went far as to always oppose him back then when the war still happening so I think it is understandable that lan wangji will be uncomfortable to the thought of wei wuxian be near to yu ziyuan, so it it not because he doesn't want wei ying to be free or what but he doesn't just like yu ziyuan near wei wuxian
@@animeboyslove8843 oh now I understand, at least I know why he acts like that :DD, thank you very much for answering me now if I can be comfortable since I finally understand the character,
