- Welcome back to the channel!
Today is the summer 2020 edition of my annually planned prolonged fast. The last time I did this, it was a 9-day water only extended fast! What came out of it you might ask?
Things like:
-Down 21 pounds
-Hyper-focused mentally
-Did cardio and/or weight training almost every day with little to no downside effects
-Caloric, BMR and mental reset, along with biomarker checks front and back of the fast
I've gone in to my favorite health optimization center here in L.A. and did all of my biomarker and baseline testing in the past. I've got a good sense of my range in different factors that I constantly monitor, along with information on my food sensitivities etc., that have helped me along the way. This is crucial information to acquire outside of your health care provider, as most physicians are not going to hand over all this information.
It's part of the industry and business I suppose, which is why you have to take your health into your own hands these days. Knowledge is power when it comes to our health and well-being. I'll keep you all posted on the progress and when it ends. Stay tuned and subscribe for updates!

LOL. I usually look at your videos when you are talking GFX. I would love to try something like that but I dont know if my BP meds will work right going that strick. However, I will try with no carbs and sugar starting tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration..... Good Luck Bro.....
Hey thanks! Best thing I suggest as this isn't my first rodeo, is to definitely come off your usual intake of carbs, sugars and bad fats in a slow and calculated manner. My suggestions for getting into prolonged fasting:
1. Limit your feeding window, just like the intermittent fasting protocol to around 4-8 hours and work it down according to how you feel. Being intuitive is key.
2. Push your first meal of the day out as far as possible. Work on skipping breakfast, then into your lunch hours. It takes a few days to get passed any hunger pains that may or may not set in.
3. Grass fed/grass finished beef is very important. Grass fed only won't cut it. Marketing tricks let the big companies get away with grain fed on 30-day final life window, which is almost as bad as eating a full-time grain fed cow or otherwise.
4. Drop the grains, breads and rice to almost nil. It's tough because carbs are delicious, but the key is satiety.
5. Increase your fat intake. Healthy fats for sure. It directly addresses #4.
6. Try to stay active and get good sleep.
7. Stay hydrated. Plenty of water. Sparkling will keep you full during the day while you're fasted.
8. Once you can hit 24+ hours water only fasted, you're now setting yourself up for some longer fasting periods.
9. Track everything. Food intake, weight on scale when you wake up, and food window. Works to your benefit knowing what your results look like daily.
10. Don't let people get in your head. It sounds crazy, but so much surrounding the benefits of fasting should be able to drown out any naysayers.
Happy to answer any questions you come up with and more GFX content is coming with my 110mm f2 review!
@@Daniel-Sanchez Man I really appreciate you taking time out of your day to provide the guideline above. This is more important to me than photography or anything else right now. I need to get this under control and really make the lifestyle change...... Blessings and stay say my friend!!!!
