    Thank you for making this easy enough for a stressed pregnant woman to understand. No other video talked about the instantaneous seal like you did! I feel so empowered. I could buy a stroller with the money I saved with this video ❤️

      I hope your seal didn't break while you were in the middle of watching this video on broken seals! Although rough, you'll be glad you watched it to the end. Knowledge is its own reward! Did you name the baby Chuggi? Pronounced like Chun Li. Or the more formal Backflow P. Jones? Or did you name it after the plumber whom you called?
      CONGRATULATIONS!! 😉 👍

    JUST the video I needed. I was certain we needed a full replacement or at least a repair. Found this video after I disassembled the whole thing (sigh) and this is all i had to do in the 1st place. Husband normally does this and Im proud to have figured it out myself! thanks for a great, detailed video!

    Thank you! I was turning the valve on the downstream side on too quickly so the water was spraying out from beneath the cap. Your video showed that you turn that valve on slowly and that was the missing piece for me. Thank you again. I am now subscribing to your channel.

    Thanks! I replaced bonnet and it kept pouring out water, but that's because I was slowly turning it on, expecting an instant seal. You mention turning it on to full right away, so that the pressure will create the seal, and this worked.

    My Febco is 5 years old when I changed it last. Pulled it apart and didn't find anything wrong. Found this video Baa Boom fixed my leaking from top.
    Haha Thanks Mr. Schepers. When I closed both lines and started up the house line first build the pressure and then opened the irrigation. Viola no leak from top.

    Repaired mine last winter as it froze quite quickly and broke. Did everything slow and steady as to not brake anything - just not enough pressure for the pop and socket to seal. Great video - Thanks!

    Thank you - bought a new gasket and went from a slow leak to this chugging. Tightening the top nut and then performing this sequence worked well.

    Edit: My problem have been fixed. Thanks a lot.

    Man, I installed the same bonnet and popper, had a spare, but this time, it kept leaking. I closed the underground valve off as you showed, then turned it on, and it sealed right away. Unfortunately for me, it revealed another issue down in the control box area, but it is no longer leaking under the bell hood. Thank you sir!

    Thanks a lot, you saved me lots of money. I kept turning the water slowly and expecting the seal. I turned it off trying to call a professional, but gave it another try with your video. Turned it full blast and it sealed instantly. I thought I was going to have to replace the whole thing again.

    Greatly appreciate the video, this morning while I was fertilizing the lawn, I noticed back flow was "Chugging". Watched the video and followed the instruction and no more water chugging with the sprinkler working nicely after I re-pressured the system. Should I replace the bonnet and poppet anyway? I am afraid one day it leaks again especially if no one is home. Thanks again !

    Could decreased or low pressure from the main line cause leaking from the bonnet/? And any ideas on what would cause low pressure when pressure throughout the rest of the house is fine?

    • @SchepersLawnSprinklingSystems
      @SchepersLawnSprinklingSystems  Год назад

      Hello, if you are using too much water in the irrigation system, like turning it on too fast or a major leak it can cause the poppet and bonnet to not seal, even if you have good water pressure in the house. Hope this helps!

    I had to replace the bonnet and poppet since it busted this winter. After replacing it and opening the valve it seals properly but when I turn on my sprinklers to test them all sections have very low pressure and the sprinkler heads don't come up. Other sections will just cause the backflow preventer to chugg like in this video. I tried doing everything you did but I'm still having the issue. Any ideas?

      @@SchepersLawnSprinklingSystems The only other valve is in my garage and that controls the water to my entire house. I checked it and it's good. I also checked under the green plastic covers in my front and back yard to see if there were any other valves but they're all solenoid controlled. I'm completely at a loss. I may need to call in a repair company to check it out at this point.

    Mine still is chugging. It happens right at the end, when I turn the second valve from 45 degrees to full on, like around 1:50 min of this video. Until then it is good and sealed. Turning on all the way leads the poppet to drop and start chugging. I have changed poppet, bonnet, and check valve and all rubber. Is there another trick about turning the pvb on? Thanks.

    • @SchepersLawnSprinklingSystems
      @SchepersLawnSprinklingSystems  3 года назад

      Hello, check that the valve supplying the back flow is fully on and you have good flow and full pressure to help keep the the poppet sealed to the bonnet. Also, make sure you have no zones on at the time you are turning on the irrigation system and you are only filling the main line with water and getting the main line fully pressurized. Hope this help!

    So what would cause water to continuously flow out of the top even with a brand new poppet and bonnet? This is happening even turning on the inlet.

    • @SchepersLawnSprinklingSystems

      Hello, check to make sure the poppet and bonnet are sealing. Also, ensure there are no cracks in the seal on the poppet. Hope this helps.
