When he's outside, you can hear the camera audio 'clicking' as the guy inside is operating the CW key - it obviously radiates so much power it's messing with the camera mic!

Nice video! Such a big and difficult mashine! To made it , had been spent lots of time and forces of many engineers and workers. Now the telegraph (or AM) wireless transmitter (up to 15MHz, and up to several KiloWatts) can be built using 74hc04 and 74HC244 cheap logical ICs and one power MOSFET like class E output RF stage.

There was a sibling radio station of this type before WWII in Warsaw, Poland. It did not survive the war, however. Germans used it to communicate with U-boots and Bletchley Park, of course. When pushed to the west by Soviet Army they just blew everything up. Today there are just some remnants like concrete bases of masts in the forest... Civilized German soldiers, die Kulturtraeger (culture porters).

Did I miss the Alexanderson Day transmission? Of all of them to miss the 100th Anniversary one!
Didn’t get nor see any notifications on this transmission, thought I was on the mailing list!

I would expect Reginald Aubrey Fessenden name to be mentioned as the one who contracted GE to build an HF alternator, and which Alexanderson struggled for two years to develop and build.
