I think you'd do better with a final of at least 15 seconds, to give yourself time to stabilise the approach and not be turning close in to the field with lots of spoiler. How's your flying gone since this was published?
Pleased to see you've stuck with it. I'm a Discus driver and - as set out in the very nice French instructional "blue book" - started to give myself more time to set up a stable final and found it very useful.
Good observation. Touchdown was at about 42 mph so it was a little bit above a full stall landing. The goal here was to get it down and stopped within 400 feet.
