I love how because they kept joking about the run being over, that when it actually was over the timer kept on going until they were like, “No that’s ACTUALLY time”
The guy who shouted 'Jigglypuff from above' during the electric gym is absolutely peak comedy. Also, another high quality run from GDQ. This is quickly becoming my favorite channel on RUclips. All of these videos are such high quality, and I love all of the explanations given for all of the various things done in the run. Thank you for running this channel!
So much joy in this run. Multiple mains, gen 8 chant, HOP coming through at the last second, André not wanting to be pet because he's dead, Mr. Wolverine being the bad guy ( _what?!_ ), also yes, pineapple on pizza is nice and pulse's laughter had me in stitches (if Keiz-Shen-wartab banter wasn't enough). also 2:46:31 is an underrated moment
I’m going through some pretty rough stuff in my life and gdq is keeping me afloat. Thanks for maintaining the archives, my most precarious mental health appreciates it.
"This is about the only time you're gonna see 'League Champion' and 'Hop' in the same vicinity." Ouch... Hop's going to need a full restore after that burn.

@@kaylikallis5164 no, they moreso don't like the games because of some issues. The desaturation of some pokemon ruining their design, the animations not being good, the quality limitations of the 3ds, the shit story, etc.
Really great and nice speedrunner, congrats!!! that frenchman's amazing!! props to you wartab :))) also, super smooth and cool speedrun, very enjoyable.
I've been shiny hunting Reshiram in Ultra Sun the whole stream - a challenge that I started early 2019 and continued on and off throughout the year - but still no luck!
You'd think this would be quicker with how easy X/Y was, but as it was said at the end of White 2, "We unlocked Easy mode! Which makes no sense, because it's a harder speedrun!"
This inspired me to try! My first run for about an hour and a half through before deciding to try again. Made it to the second gym! Wish me luck for next time!
a few months late but damn is this amusing, props to the commentators and crowd for the fun run! x&y is the first game ive ever “spedrun” myself so to see a proper version of it will def motivate me to optimize time better + learn new strats. thanks! ps. pineapple SUCKS
We changed options to the capture software, because it indeed looked pretty bad. Sadly even after the break, it still didn't look too good. But we had a blast anyway :)
each move has 16 different damage values after all of the calculations, (earlier in games sometimes less hence 15) and a 12 to 16 range means that if the move rolls one of the lower 11 values it will not kill, but from 12-16 will
Wait... the red haired millionaire who says creepy shit about beauty and power is actually leading the group of red haired millionaire teenagers talking about beauty and power!!! OH MY GODDD
The Fennekin line would actually be a rather good choice for this game's speedrun. It's good against the first gym and all the bugs in the grass, you can pick Squirtle to wreck the second gym, Braixen/Delphox knows Psychic moves for the 3rd/Fighting Gym. 4th I Think is Ramos aka Grass. 5th uses some Steel types as well so Fire it away~~ You could have picked Tyrantrum as your fossile thing - it needs some special conditions to evolve, but it could be useful, also Exp. share is OP There's an Ice cave and Ice-Gym and yet more forests, a Steel Elite 4 member.... Fire Fire Fire, Delphox is rather fast and strong too so Yeet. Blastoise can take care of the Fire Elite 4 person & maybe Dragon too with Ice Beam, and one of your mons should have dark or ghost type moves, Shadow Ball, Bite, Crunch etc. for Psychic gym. Fairy Gym could be trouble and you'd really want Electric for Siebold - unless you go big risk on Delphox since it learns Grass Knot, but Gyarados is gonna be tough regardless Almost forgot you get a free Lucario, so that's also a fairly good choice for type coverage - and again, exp. share is super useful. The free Lapras you can get is nice but you already have the Squirtle (I love Bulbasaur and I actually just found out it's a tad faster, but Surf utility at your hand at all times + Fire Elite 4 member makes it more convenient to go for Water Type Squirtle) But but but but this is pretty much just a casual 'speedy no catch only gift' kinda run Pfffffffffff I write too much, but it'd be good for a solo run or something~ Lucario was definitely the MVP of this run though Anyway and either way, always fun to watch this stuff! It's really interesting seeing what people do and what's the fastest strategy Also Shout out to that person at 2:46:30 I had a chuckle xD 3:25:30 Same person, rock on xD
You'd be mostly right, except the fact that the rival exists and the froakie line outspeeds you and kills you in every rival battle. This is why we pick chespin so rival gets fennekin line, which is not nearly as fast and gets wrecked by your party due to its terribad dual typing
everything you said is true for a nuzlocke, but for a speedrun no, farfetchd is faster as a start due to the exp gain allowing you to fight less trainers, get more chances to catch hawlucha and utilise repels throughout the run, changing the starter also messes with rival pokemon meaning lucario can't just kill greninja with one aura sphere. More importantly that involves balancing the main pokemon of fennekin's line and squirtles line and tyrunts line which is much more effort in a run that already swaps mains several times and has a lot of other knock on affects. If it was faster it would be the run they used, the game came out in 2013, anything as obvious as a different starter choice would have been labbed out by now.
For anyone else's edification who is just following along not to set a record but just to finish the game fast, I died twice with my Hawlucha, and didn't do the double massage, but still got the lucky egg. (I battled 5 more trainers by accident though.)

Sometimes, Keizaron’s sarcasm comes off so strong that I think “Does he like _anything_ about Pokémon?”
Wartab, keizaron and eddaket in the same run is just amazing. This X/Y run and eddakets Lets Go Run are the most entertaining runs ive ever seen.
