I agree 100% with the points you make! Great content. An alternative play for the first example could also be leading the whole line with hundred winds. To get the Rising Knee off, its the best chance in my opinion. So if they dont block HW, you get your RK and continue with 4dmg, 5dmg mask trigger. If the block LT you are at least dealing 10 dmg and took a card. If they block HW, you Kodachi, 4dmg, Katsu, 5dm plus you would have one floating on MoM trigger in case you get a 1 cost attack and want to puch dmg. That second block usually really hurts. Well if they also block the Leg Tap, you can still go kodachi, kodachi, soulb. threatening trigger plus go again, potentially fetching Fluster Fist, causing 10dmg and ripping two cards off hand or, setting up arsenal. Whereas if you lead with leg tap, get it off you would present either HW or Soul as chain link three - i really don't like either as chsin link 3... if they shut you down on soul, you are leaving two resources unused... and HW no break point...just some thoughts
In addition- that's what I love about Katsu - you can play the lines so differently. I'm still pulling of lines sometimes that I've never done before, even after many games on the same deck. Love it xD
Yeah, I think that play line depends on who you were playing. If you were playing a hero like Lexi or Fai then it makes sense because they are unlikely to block chain-link one however, a hero like bravo or oldhim will just block it with one card or uzuri on purpose to make you have something else, so it definitely depends. I typically like to lead with a breakpoint attack whenever I have the opportunity to do so to force multiple cads out on chain-link one and get card adv early so it all depends but both are really good options
Why wouldn’t you kodachi, then legtap. Forces the second block and allows a 2nd mask trigger, leaves one resource for the combo if you can and worse case you can toss the kodachi at the end if you don’t.
Double strike does align with your philosophy of creating a hard decision space for you opponents to react but also enables Katsu to use his ability. Is the card still under rate despite how much it can help with card draw and searching for a card? Have you tried it in this list at all? - or does the blue "be like waters" essentially provide the same effect.
Super helpful info. I would love to see a video for side boarding for Katsu, or just match ups in general; like when i see a bravo what cards and strategies are typically best vs like when i see a dori vs a fai etc. Keep up the great content
hey man, im a fairly new player and i dont want to bust the bank on getting mask of momentum. My friend plays dorinthea and i feel like i have no way to pressure some cards out of his hands to limit his turn because i dont have mask. Is katsu worth playing if you dont have mask of momentum?
I think it’s worth it personally. The new tolarian community college kit has a head piece that allows you to draw and it will be cheap to buy singly on TCG player. Katsu also can use his ability fairly more efficiently due to bonds allowing you to Tudor an additional time.
Yea, but why are your Kodachi's pointed at Katsu?....Seriously though these are some great explanations, I think people who always Kodachi first are probably Ira players who have developed that habit.
I played with Double Strike at the Calling in Baltimore. I actually really liked presenting multiple potential Katsu triggers a turn with them.
I feel like people are more inclined to Block right now, so Double Strike could be really good :)

I’ve actually had people point out the kodachi thing I’ve always done it I don’t know why I guess I like them inward
