A lot of the players on South Sudan just recently joined the team, so their still getting use to playing together, understanding their system, and communicating. You can see the issues on the defensive end especially but they should improve overtime. Before the tournament started they added 4 players with NBA experience: Wenyen Gabriel, Carlik Jones, Marial Shayok, Mangok Mathiang and two ex-NCAA stars: Peter Jok and Emmanuel Akot. All of these guys are solid players but none of them had played for the national team before (this was just their second game for the team). its because these players don't have chemistry. the coaches are very good the problem is that the team that carried us through the Africa cup, most of the plyers were injured. Gabriel and most of the players in this match only had 3 days of playing together before this tournament. that's why the team was off. I wish Australia would have competed against the original line up, they would have been trouble. @@macanthony1982

@@macanthony1982… but I think South Sudan suits more of American style than European style due to their athleticism, length, height and quickness… all they need is chemistry and proper funding for their needs… maybe bring most of them to US for more training… Africans in general are the future of international basketball

Now I know Gabriel has not caught on with a team. He's all over the place in a bad way. Out of position, does not pass out so he won't pass to weakside shooter, footwork is out of balance - that's just the offensive side. It's a shame because he's got great size, length and athleticism.
