As a Canadian I appreciate the fact that you made this video. It seems like no one talks about our troops, the people we've lost and the suffering our boys go through.
On behalf of all Canadians thank you for bringing this to light to the people whom might not of known of this ❤
Of course, some incredible warriors!
Canadians do have good soldiers but it's not them who's doing most of the dying and that's just one thing that probably contributes to why most people don't talk about Canadian soldiers.
@@tgs9740 yeah you're right, Canada doesn't kick down the door of every country that has oil so we don't have as much deaths. (Thank God)
And I don't mean to disrespect the U.S soliders. I only mean disrespect to the people who started the wars. Not the men who fought in them. Any soldier has my respect. Even if it's the enemy.
I'm a Canadian to
God bless our Northern Neighbors Sons.
Thank you for showing some love for Canadian soldiers, very appreciated
Some real warriors!
Iam a proud Canadian and although we are known for being humble we do are part and have done our part ever since we were called up to take Vimy Ridge in WW1. It is always nice to get the recognition that our fighting men and women deserve. Thank you for letting the world know about our brave military.
You certainly have a great army, I thank all Canadians who served with us through out our history!
I've never met a humble Canadian. I dont even mean this as an insult but they usually have huge egos. At least the 1s I met. Dont get me wrong 1 became one of my best friends lol
Yeah we don’t do our part anymore. We struggled to find eight tanks to send to Ukraine, no longer have a blue water navy, and have steadfastly refused to spend the NATO standard 2% of our GDP on our military.
@@chrisortiz8072 I’m Canadian and I openly admit that most of us have a serious inferiority complex, especially when it comes to comparing ourselves to our southern neighbours. It’s embarrassing.
@@wayne6777 I guess I understand since a lot of people compare our nations because proximate location but also because the only mostly white nations in this side of the world. I saw the comment of military spending do you think its because the USA spends a fortune and no matter what happens the USA would have to defend Canada due to location? Or is Canada just assuming no one would ever come all the way over here type of situation? I assume it would be difficult during the winter much like Russia has been to invaders for centuries.
May those who lost their lives in that battle Rest In Peace
Canadas war history is like the nice quiet guy that suddenly starts shivving someone in a bar
American war history is like that one uncle who does coke and feels like he’s better than you.
@@yedzovi no need for that none of what i said is an insult im just saying canadas war history is a sharp contrast from what theyre "known" for
@@yedzovi if we ever got attacked we’d go crying to Uncle Sam the second we could find the nearest phone.
I was always curious about the other guys and their contributions to these conflicts. Thank you
CANSOF are good guys. Enjoyed working with them. Professional and skilled.
Thank you to all our Canadian soldiers and our allies 👍💪 Huge respect!
That area isn't any joke. I was in the same AO 10-11... that place was hell and the Canadians I worked with were amazing.
The Canadians are scary in combat
My uncle was there. Charles Company, 7 platoon, 1st RCR. 31B
This deserves more views!
The Canadian military is the living embodiment of "fuck around and find out"
As a Canadian soldier i will remember this for the rest of my life. Makes me feel badass😂
@@nicoooo2986 I was stationed at Fort Richardson in Alaska, and we did plenty of joint operations with Canadian guys during my time there. It was a great time. My favorite joke was optional hockey stick bayonette (examples were provided of a jimmied up hockey stick that could attach to a picatinny rail).
Very proud of our CDN Forces.
Some awesome warriors
Dude being Canadian thank you very much for your heart felt comments. That was very cool of you.🇨🇦 I know they would all be appreciative of your comments I honestly never heard this before.
Some real warriors!
Excellent info--stuff most of us did not know. No more jokes about our northern neighbors....
You know Canadians seem all nice and tame but then you realize they never lost a war
How many have they fought alone lol
At least 1 but either way the’re better then America
True and also don’t forget they kicked Americas ass already. The war of 1812.
@@stupidsnek I mean; we’re surrounded by ocean or America
And we have fought off two Americans invasions and decades of raids
Apart from that tho; we pretty much only come out to the real big shoes
Except that time we invaded Africa
But.... we prefer people forget that one
@@raphaelwalters3929 Canada wasn't even a country it was a British colony. The war of 1812 was against the British empire. Hahaha. Good grief.
My uncle fought hard there, he’s a good man. Fair and kind, but I can only imagine what he deals with everyday.. makes me love him more
You're a great narrator, bro! Semper Fi!
Thanks a lot!
I truly appreciate your video about my fellow Canadians.
Thank you to all that served & continue to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces. May those that sadly lost their lives..
Rest in Peace.
Your channel is awesome bro. 👍🏻
Thanks a lot!
Deployed to Kandahar in 2011 I was a Blackhawk crew chief for 6 years the Canadian forces were awesome as well as the British SAS and Australian military. Thank you to all my brothers and sisters in arms
Appreciate your service!
My uncle was in the same squadron as Nichola Goddard was in. You probably know who she is but if you don’t know she was the first female soldier KIA. And I Thank you for your service
You’re very educational thank you🐾🐾🐾
While issued green CADPAT chest carriers in the desert no less.
Just like the beginning of operation Iraqi freedom not enough brown to go around so troops were running around in full green kit
That's the military for you.
Bruhh my favourite thing about the Canadian Afghan mission was the fact that we found out via journalists noticing our soldiers loading prisoners onto planes and being like only one country is competent enough to capture that many al qaeda; bht cheap enough to make there special forces do it in green camo
Those are Canadians for sure
Beautiful districts! First time leaving FOB PASAB, looked to the south towards the Argandab River and behold...the biggest damned field of weed I've ever seen!
This is awesome. The Canadian forces seem to pull off some crazy stuff, like on Dday and in Bosnia.
If you want to learn more about the Canadian forces.come to Holland and see how many gave their lives ( especially in the south province of zeeland) the British pushed from across the Schelde from Zeuwse Flanders while the Canadian forces West and northern inland positions both backed up by Polish tanks regiment. The German military motivated by keeping them out of Germany. Flooded fields and landmines forced the Canadians to use the tops of the dijks ( in long single lines lined up like a shooting gallery). Village by village house by house brutal hand to hand fighting claimed many young lives on both sides.it was no different for the British on yet another beach landing and push through heavily defended positions. The British held the Belgian side of the Schelde but until the Germans were pushed out of the Dutch side the allies could not use the huge port of Antwerp . The German military knew how important it was and made sure the price of victory would be allied blood.
It's very impressive and very sad to see the commonwealth war graves cemetery in Bergen op Zoom when you see the ages of the men ( boys) lost..... the Canadian forces get on with the job and don't boast about their actions they let the results speak for them...... they are so well thought about here that some local people adopt a grave and visit with flowers on celebration days just to say a few words to the people who helped liberate them .....
Awesome to see content covering Operation Medusa.
Very much respect. Thank you for your bravery
You make very good videos
Thanks a lot!
Met a guy from The Elder Scrolls Online who took part in this, he broke down and had a PTSD episode telling us about watching his best buddy take an RPG hit to the front seat of his vehicle killing him instantly.
We can't see them, but those are the worst wounds of all!
I still have helmet cam footage from Medusa & it was exactly as you described it. These guys weren’t going down without a fight. Wether they were all doped up on heroin or whatever they were still fighting after being hit which blew my mind. 9/10 times you would have to hit a chest or headshot if you were gonna neutralize that threat. Normally they’ll pick up shop & retreat when they hear the Apache or if they see Spectre up above they’d always retreat but these were like attack of the zombie insurgents
That's wild man, hard to imagine that fight. I was in that area with the US 101st 2010-11 and many of us looked to Medusa to get an understanding of what was ahead of us.
The sadest thing about this is that our leaders have slapped the faces of all those that served and gave their lives and the families that lhey left behind that believe the good that they were doing.
@Mr. Shlock Wrong!!!!
You have NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!
Ignorance is alive and well here!
@Mr. Shlock I mean
You know that Canada is an entirely seperate country from the us
With entirely different leadership
That pulled out of Afghanistan years and years and years ago
So like yah nothing to do with Biden ; we kinda won our part of one war and then a whole other one to very specifically not have to care what us presidents think
Fun fact: my uncle was in the same squad with the first Canadian female soldier death in battle. Nichola Goddard was the first female soldier KIA. If you search her up you will get more info about her. There is a school about her I’m pretty sure. His name is Jay and he is retiring soon.
Normally, Canadian accomplishments are quickly swept under the rug. You have forced me to re-evaluate my beliefs, by releasing this video.
Was in the ghan in 2006 we left out of kandahar in july and went to zabule province i remeber hearing from the kbr contractors about this op
Man that dude's unibrow in that picture is Savage
I was there, part of task force warriors. Google about the Canadians bombed their own APC that was disabled from Taliban ambush.
The US Army's, 1st Battlion, 3rd Special Forces Group was there with our Canadian brothers and were responsible to clear the southern sector and leading the fight to take Musan Gar (thats a hill) in the heart of Panjwai. Under intense enemy fire, US Green Berets established a hilltop stronghold on Musan Gar and used the elevated position to reduce the Taliban fighters and break their moral. The US Special Forces and Canadian forces killed a boat load of enemy fighters and for the 3rd Special Forces Group's efforts supporting the largest NATO fight in history, they were awarded a valurous unit citation from The Canadaian Government, an award that had never been awarded to a foriegn unit before. Here is the back story, at one point our Canadian brothers had taken so many casualties the comander came under sever political pressure to not to take any more casualites or else he would be relieved so we stood shoulder to shoulder with our Canadia brothers in arms throughout this fight. Although we lost a some of our Green Beret brothers duriing the battle, they and our Canadian brethern who gave their lives will never be forgotten.
Liberate the Oppressed!
Hey, those two dudes were in my platoon. I didn’t know they joined the Canadians!?!🧐
My cousin was there!!!! 🤘🏻😎
Canadian borne, Canadian proud 🇨🇦
Oh man watched a whole doco on this yesterday what a nightmare of a situation , hats off to the Canadians for their persistence , what I'm perplexed about is in the doco I doesn't seem like there was a good handover period for the Canadians , why wasn't the last coalition force there pulled out in stages so they could give the people coming in a bit of an idea of the scope of operations and what to expect .. also the incident with a warthog really drilled home the importance of communication and across platform communication , I see why it was such a big focus now with America's next gen fighter jets integrable platforms with strong communication and data feeds are able to respond to situations a lot better
Did two tours in afghan and lost both legs while protecting a diplomat in kandahar in 2006
We served feom 2001 to 2014
Never lost on the battle field in every contact we had
Taking about Canada could we see something on the Dieppe raid or Juno beach? Love the video!
Appreciate it! Let me see what I can put together
They stayed and fought alright. Hand to hand in some cases. I was in Charles Coy for Op Medusa, we dealt with literally everything on that tour. Even an A-10 strike. Pro Patria. Thanks for making this vid
Hope you’re doing well. Nobody should have had to experience that. I watched the documentary last night and you could see the PTSD emanating from every soldier interviewed.
I have Much respect for our Canadian comrades in arms!!!
Check out The Battle of the Medak Pocket
Thanks Canadian forces for YOUR service. Too bad it amounted ultimately in a defacto defeat.
Respect to the troops to the North who fought the same fight👍👍
That ratio is how you know that NATO is one the best fighting forces in the world
The best fighting forces in the world that has been kicked out by peasants.
@@sabrinanova949 we weren't NATO in Vietnam and besides, we weren't used to guerilla warfare, and Nixon screwed us
@@austinstrahl4345
What about goat shepard peasants in Afganistan? Why did NATO flee from them?
thats where that giant was supposed to be found and killed in like 03 or something
God bless our troops and the men and women that serve in the military
Do the Rhodesian bush war operation gattling
Even during ww2 and the invasion of Normandy the Canadian kicked some major ass, not to mention thier relentless position in Bomber command. Yeah don't underestimate the Canadians.
If we shared a land border with Afghanistan today the Taliban would conquer us within a week if we never received any assistance. When we went looking for tanks to send to Ukraine we struggled to find eight. Our military has been woefully neglected over the last 20 years.
In the end it was just a waste of life on both sides as 20 years after it started the same people now control Afghanistan (and have a shit ton of new equipment)
Canadians are kinda badass
Is there more to this than the 45s short im watching?
All for nothing. Zip nada. With people that lived in mud huts.
With all those “enemy kills” you would think we win.
The Canadians the Germans and the Brit’s are all the personification of badassery. Love all my nato brothers. Oorah till hell take us under 🤙🏽
My brother was in Afghanistan. Was part of op Medusa. Lost two of his best friends and we just heard about Jess Larochelle. Rest in peace
Holy Unibrow, Major....
Man and this whole time we called it panjway
That's actually a great but sad ratio
And we left in disgrace.....
I always knew Canadians were awesome. In the spirit of our friendship and out of respect for our northern neighbors, I will continue to make fun of Canada, and I expect them to do the same!
Great video Man but I do have to say this when you showed the NATO forces country flags you didnt add the under dogs 🏴🇦🇺
@@robharris8844U stop crying bro I was pointing out there's not scootish flag or Australian flag even tho we are apart of NATO
@@robharris8844U you saying the Scots having done anything
@@robharris8844U alright then
But what about Australia then hmm cause if I'm not wrong we played a good part of both great wars and during small conflicts that the yanks couldn't do by themselves
Very much respect to our Talibani and Candian brothers
And people say we lost in iraq when this battle alone which was considered heavy combat only 31 nato troops died with 500 insurgents or more killed and 100 captured thats around 16 to 1 insurgents to nato deaths
... Bruhh wrong war. Who country. Shit wrong continent
@@ShmuckCanuck my point still stands and we were fighting the same people a bunch of civilians
@@Imagoofygoober69420 you fought entirely different types of enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan; in neither case were they civilians. Your point doesn’t stand. Also you entirely lost in Iraq and I’d point out to you- this was the Canadian military lol (and this battle and our general our performance of you guys in Afghanistan is why you adopted our lavs as your strykers and are reorganizing a bunch of your militarybalong our lines) and we very much didn’t deploy our military with you into Iraq
Whereas we not only went into Afghanistan; we deployed to and secured Kabul and Kandahar which are fairly important regions (it’s be like if when you invaded Iraq; it was the British who took badghad and tikrit)
One does not fuck with us canadians
The armed forces anyway, not the weebs.
Settle down
Good old Kandy land.... did 2 deployments there.
I hope these people in those photos are still alive :(
What did they do about buddies unibrow? Browch
We're just built different I guess us Canadians have war in our dna
Big respect to Canada
Did they leave sorry notes and bottles of maple syrup?
My brother was there
This is why I hate the tactics of insurgent fighters they use their own people as meat shields and run like rats when confronted
Why do most people just ignore Canada in nearly every war Afghanistan, korea hell even ww2 it's all america britian and russia
Because they all sent more soldiers. We are a footnote that used to punch above our weight class. Now our horribly neglected military struggled to find eight usable tanks to send to Ukraine.
I was in Operation Medusa with the US.
Afghanistan is nice🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸💯💯💯
I’d say this was a bunch of Chechen fighters.
Yes but how many civilians were killed ? The poor and helpless are usually the Collateral damage bcz they don't have the resources to move away from the danger zone.
And all for absolutely nothing.
Canada has an army? (This is a joke)
31 too many
Stfu. It was the biggest battle in Afghanistan, do you expect everyone to live? Sorry man, that isn’t the reality of battles.
@@yedzovi ya absolutely I expect every soldier

Send the canadians in then americans come in at the very last bit and claim victory by them.
They have plenty of that experience from ww2.
When American soldiers landed the same time as the rest of the allies you clown
Them Canadians had russian vests
They had loses of 30 men in one day due to green on green

They day you carriedaway you lost the battle
Canada might have a military but they’re still not free. They almost have compelled speech over there. Call me zim hahahahaahah
Killing innocent afgans what happened to the American military was less than what should had happenened.

Try 2 clear the way 4 the masons but all must come 2 an end
Who builds Canada's personal weapons systems is it colt Canada I know colt Canada made some rifles that the SBS and sas and some elements of the parachute regiment here in the UK use says a lot about the sa80 when are to soldiers hate them for any role u only see say a bunch of sas or SBS soldiers will carry em and that's say if they get of s plane and want to blend in with the rest of the force that have the displeasure of having to fight with that pos bullpup I'm left handed and you can't even swap what side the ejection port is on and a fkin bundle of bullpups do have the option I've shot for the county I lived in years back and I got to shoot one at a range day in bisley and I went from being nice and accurate using my Remington model 700 in .223 literally like 98 percentages down to 32 percent with that thing I think it's appalling they issue that to are lads we should at least have a colt Canada rifle for every soldier that requires it due to being lefty's as I wouldn't be much use in a firefight if that was the weapons system I'd been issued
