Not a bad choice for your first AVR. What really makes it a bang for your buck is support for eARC, it suppose to give you the ability to passthrough lossless audio like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio straight from your eARC-supported TV to your receiver or soundbar, lossless Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-based formats also count.
Very informative thank you! I thought it was a great deal and just couldn't pass it up. Glad I got it and even though I have only 2 speakers running on it now it sounds amazing.

@@KReesethebeast The speaker is from a small Sony home theater " system " that had been purchased over 10 years ago, the " system " consisted of an AM/FM receiver amp, a small sub, 4 satellite speakers and 1 center channel speaker. @@BlitzTheEqualizer You are correct with that information. It has two subwoofer outputs. Now you need a new TV the new technology is called OLED, they are double to triple the cost of normal led they are great but still not as good as the old plasma flat screens the color on the plasma tv is unreal, I have had an old Pioneer plasma tv since 2007 Bought brand new looks better than all of the modern led tvs. I paid 2600 in 2007 which is insane for only a 42 inch tv that's still insane today, but that tv is still running perfect 12 years later and looks better than any other tv. Back about 10 years ago, the best TVs were made by Pioneer, they also apparently made car stereos but little to people know their TVs were the rolls Royce of the industry, the BEST and the picture is still better than 90% of the new Tvs I've looked at. I just bought the receiver today after replacing a Yamaha, I was going to throw it away because I thought it was broke, so I got the Sony hooked it up and I have the same problem but now idk if it's broke or I'm just stupid. Anyway any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Edit, also I have no sub woofer idk if thats the cause of my problem but highly doubt it.
Having no sub would not cause your problem. If you still have the same issue it is not your receiver. I would check to make sure all your speakers are actually working and check all your wiring connections. Something is happening coming out of the receiver going to the speakers.

@Kefla No, it is like telling a British You-tuber that he/she is overusing the word "mate" and that maybe that could lead to a lower viewership. Or similarly, it is like telling a someone like you that their need to be a contrarian could be seen as annoying and ill conceived.
First off... why the jacket in the house? Really? And, have you ever heard of a vacuum? Gross. And you want Patreon support! Ha! How about supporting me vacuuming my rug in shorts and a t shirt in my climate controlled house.

hi just want to pick up this avr, but I heard when you change the HDMI input on your tv, every time the on-screen display of the AVR pops up automatically on the tv, is this true?
That depends on what kind of TV you have as well.
@@KReesethebeast ok thanks did that happen on your tv? i have lg tv, just interested if it happened on yours and what brand tv you have. i hope if i use Toslink it wont show up with a menu as my xb1x doesn't play nice when i use arc setup. ps4 pro and pc have no issues just xbox1x screws up that arc setup
@@chronicconditions5855 I have an lg as well I did a review on it check it out!
@@chronicconditions5855 so when I want to change the display from my ps4 pro to my PC I have to change the input to screen share then go to my input to get the receiver's prompt on the screen so I can change it.
@@KReesethebeast ok thanks... i hope they do a firmware update to remove that, very strange, never seen an avr do that. i went to a sony forum and everyone like wtf fix it sony. i would get this avr if it didnt have this issue. its a sweet deal down to 400 in australia from 600. ill check the tv review!
Does it have bass and treble settings?
Yes it does
@@KReesethebeast Hello i just bought the/ Sony StR dh590.But I can't find the bass & treble settings!! Can you tell me were they are.Thanks.
How do you do the mic calibration?
Hook it up and read the instructions, I cannot remember all the fine details.
Kevin Reese thanks!
200 thats sick, cost 600 in australia
Oh wow that is expensive!
@@KReesethebeast yeah, but their dollar is valued different. The Australian minimum wage is nearly $19 (Australian) dollars per hour.
@@mavfan1 Oh wow that is a high minimum wage!
The both of you are morons.
What's the point to buy a bluetooth receiver and to use cables?
You can stream from your phone the receiver and have it play through whatever speaker system you have set up. It is really cool.
Does anyone have an issue where the front speakers work but the surround and center doesn't?
I just bought the receiver today after replacing a Yamaha, I was going to throw it away because I thought it was broke, so I got the Sony hooked it up and I have the same problem but now idk if it's broke or I'm just stupid.
On the Yamaha I had all speakers spliced together running threw front, because I thought the surround and center where fried, but now I have the exact same problem with the Sony.
Also it works for the yellow white and red cords I run my ps2 too it and I get 4 speakers all working, but it will not work with HDMI so my ps3 has no surround sound.
@@KReesethebeast thanks, I was able to figure it out.
I have no arc on my TV, so I had to run an optic cable. It works now. But I have to get a new TV if I want it to sound legit without the optic cord.
@@chaosstorm8307 Yes you are correct you would need an optical cable if you do not have an ARC (Audio Return Channel). Glad you got it figured out.
Nice
Glad you liked it!
nice vLogs
Thank you 😊
How to bought this av receiver amplifier from India
I would search online and purchase that way. There are no Best Buys over there I'm guessing.
I just paid $100
Dang you got a deal.
Cut the "Y'all's" in half. You want it to be unique but not annoying. You obviously had no clue what the USB power supply was for. Practice makes perfect. If this comment helps your channel please let me know.
Ya'll is something I say, I don't do it to be unique. It's a southern thing. I am not an audiophile or expert by any means, just wanted to give average consumers an idea of what they are getting when they bought this.
@Kefla No, it is like telling a British You-tuber that he/she is overusing the word "mate" and that maybe that could lead to a lower viewership. Or similarly, it is like telling a someone like you that their need to be a contrarian could be seen as annoying and ill conceived.
@Kefla Thanks for being a reasonable and realistic human being!
First off... why the jacket in the house? Really? And, have you ever heard of a vacuum? Gross. And you want Patreon support! Ha! How about supporting me vacuuming my rug in shorts and a t shirt in my climate controlled house.
Some people have nothing better to do than complain about others.
@@KReesethebeast big facts. great video btw the only question I have is wether I can run a regular sub to it.
@@bbgoldbyrd699 yes this is a 5.2 channel receiver and is capable of running a 2 subs!
@@KReesethebeast do you think it could handle 1 12" 1200 watt sub
P.S still replying to an almost 1 year old vid absolute mad lad 😂👏👍
@@bbgoldbyrd699 well it's a 725 watt system total, so it would power it but not to it's full potential I wouldn't think.
Can this be hooked up to standard rca red white cable with audio speaker jack?
It can be hooked up with anything you can imagine that would be commonly used to hook up stereo and speakers. Merry Christmas!
Yes it can be hooked up with that
