I love buying necklaces and bracelets from thrift stores and upcycling them into earrings!❤
Yes, it’s so much fun! Thank you Bridget!
First time viewer here I really enjoyed this video. I like how you move right along and don’t waste time talking too much!❤
Thank you, Kim!
I am catching up on all your jewelry videos!! I am enjoying them!! These are so beautiful!! A matching bracelet would make a stunning set!! You are very talented!!
~Tammy
Love that! Thank you so much Tammy!
Love the upcycled vintage beaded earrings. I used to make jewelry as well when time permitted. Very relaxing... 😊 I prefer the longer ones since I have shoulder-length hair. 👍
Hi Judi! It is so relaxing to make jewelry. Good to see a comment from you on this channel! Thank you so much for our Christmas card and surprise gift! I’m a little late in getting my thank you out to you. I mailed it earlier today. Mark and I are truly appreciative! Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
Hello I am new here. Nice to meet you. Love your jewelry organization. I just realized I had a talent for designing in 2019. Everyday I follow instructors who have decades of experience. I went overboard in purchasing jewelry designing materials to sell and to use for designing. I purchased my business license and i've done craft shows to sell but not making money. Too much competition. And now I question whether I did the right thing. I am retired and can't see myself growing a business when we are in a recesssion. I love creating my own pieces. Its full time. I love how you buy old jewelry and create with it. Great idea!
Hi Lorena! Nice to meet you too! Selling handmade jewelry can be challenging. Mark and I traveled for many years, selling our jewelry at National Street rod shows and Good Guys shows in the "women's world" section of the events. We also sold at local craft shows in the fall. YES, there is a lot of jewelry at shows these days. We were also competing with imported jewelry at the car shows.
With that said, we had to "sell" our jewelry. We were on our feet ALL day, greeting people and sharing our passion for our handmade jewelry. We also had a 24 ft display of ALL handmade jewelry so our booth stood out, especially at local craft shows where we rented two to three spaces. Jewelry doesn't sell itself. Buyer's may like the jewelry but we believe they "bought" our jewelry because of our enthusiasm and the effort and joy we put into our work. We were never pushy or hard sell. Just outgoing and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the shoppers and many became repeat customers.
It is much harder to sell jewelry on-line because there isn't any personality behind it. This RUclips channel is the first time I've attempted to demonstrate and also make our jewelry available in our ebay store.
I hope you are able to find your niche and share your skills and passion for designing jewelry. Thanks for subscribing to our channel!
Lorena, if you are worried about selling in a “recession,” you are defeating yourself before you start! My sales haven’t diminished because of a “recession.” There’s a lot of competition, yes, but no recession. And as the video instructor tells you, it’s all in your personality when you greet people who come to your sales table! Or perhaps you’re more comfortable in a boutique setting or selling on consignment. Lots of ways you can sell, in lots of different economies. I have been doing it since 1999.
You have inspired me to pull out my stash and get back to jewelry making.
Wonderful! Thank you, Deannale!
I lovvvve pulling apart jewellery, even more than I like making it.
Add a wire wrap around the beads would look nice.
Do you love upcycling and repurposing jewelry? I show you how to upcycle two glass crystal beaded necklaces, one vintage and one more modern, into beautiful earrings! Be sure to like, comment and subscribe so you won't miss a video. Thank you, Vickie & Mark ~ Avante Jewelry
Love both designs. I have never tried to make jewelery, i have butter fingers so i would spend more time crawling around trying to find the beads that escaped on me.
Ohhh, some beads escape me too! Thanks Maggie!
A piece of vellux type blanket is a wonderful pad when beading. Just enough nap to keep things in place.
loved the video
Thank you!
Pretty
Thank you!
I enjoy your process. Thank you for this video. Lovely earrings.
Thank you Lorraine!
I recycle things, too. Like the vlog. Nice earrings
Thank you Louise!
Those are very pretty. Thanks Vickie!
Glad you like them! Thank you Diane!
I know this video is from 2 months c ago but I have as question about the jewelry that you buy. Do you wash the pieces before you bag them and put them away ? And do you put a tarnish square with them in the bag? I wash the jewelry I buy ,dry them well and then put them away in a storage box. I love how you put your beads together to create new pieces. Thank you for sharing 🤗 Syndy
I damp wipe the jewelry that needs it but no, I do not completely wash the pieces (soak it). I only use tarnish squares with jewelry that is silver plated. Thank you Syndy.
Thank you. Do you ever wash your crystals. I do with special wash liquid that doesn't spot. Many have commented that that is weird. But you would be surprised how much more shine you get. I use heat to dry like the sun. Takes a few minutes. When I order gemstones beads, they always come dirty. It does take time.
No, never heard of that. Thanks for the tip.
Maybe we have crossed paths in the groups I follow. Lorena Chamberlin
I don't think so because I don't belong to any jewelry making groups. Welcome though!
