Indeed. I'm sure I read somewhere that they didn't get on whilst working on the Avengers, but there was a kind of 'angry' chemistry between them which Brian Clemens noticed. They eventually became great friends during filming but fell out again years later when Martin famously refused to allow the showing of repeats for several years, at a time when Lewis was struggling to make ends meet and needed the money.
Love The New Avengers! The show came out in 1976. I was 2 years old and had a huge crush on Steed ever since. He was always my dream guy. Love Patrick Macnee still. He was the coolest.

Can anyone remember which New Avengers Episode featured the Scene at 2:05 in this footage where Gambit bursts in through the door with gun in hand and Purdey hides behind the door beside a Coat Stand? I'm familiar with most Episodes from The Great TV Showing Currently on TV but have no recollection of this Scene.

I'd forgotten all about this show until today when doing a search for Baretta??.... lol. Anyway, all I could remember is there were 3 members instead of 2 and somebody's name was Gambit but wasn't sure of that. Then a thought hit me. Was Steed in this? Yeah. Was it call The new avengers? Searched and here I am....lol. Mom and I use to watch this together and it came on late at night I think, after the 11 o'clock news. Also, remember this show being really and Joanna Lumley kickin' butt, I think. It's all kind of a blur now. Anyway, glad I rediscovered it. Oh and definitely remember Gambit being HOT!....LOL.
I seem to remember there was some back story when Steed and Bond where at Eton together and Steed gave him what we call in England a good hiding over Bonds Treatment of a House Maid ,,,,
Collins and Shaw were in one show, but not as Bodie and Doyle but as Kilner and Larry. It was supposedly their appearance in TNA that got the the C15 gig
