This one and the last episode are the best, last episode we get to see Aang turn into that fish monster and take out the fire nation fleet. That was a badass finale.
In the novels Kyoshi was a 7 foot tall lesbian who fell in love with her fire bender guard. She was also around 270 when she died as the longest living avatar. Interesting she used the fans because she couldn't earth bend small objects only mountian size objects the fans were her airbender mother's and allowed her to focus her power on small more precise objects. The kyoshi costumes where like a step out of the novels.
Netflix’s live action earns a 9/10 from me. I have watched all eight episodes; and fully rewatched twice so far. My 8yr old daughter is halfway through the new Live Action series already. We love this new Live Action series as well as the original cartoon which is on, almost daily. I have seen the original cartoon all the way through at least 500 times since the original 2008 finale on Nickelodeon. I want Season 2 and Season 3 of this Netflix Live Action Avatar the Last Airbender.
In the original cartoon the world discovers the Avatar when he’s in the Avatar State at the Southern Air Temple and all of the statues at each of the temples began glowing. One of the fire sages at Roku’s temple even confirms it by saying “send word to the fire lord immediately. The Avatar has returned.”
One thing I haven't heard anybody talk about (Spoilers if you haven't seen the original show (in which case SHAME ON YOU AND GO WATCH IT NOW). No really. Endgame spoilers for the original show (which...we hope we'll see in live action, but who knows)... When Monk Gyatso says "You will always be my friend." He wasn't just talking to Aang...He's talking to Roku.
In the original, the world discover about the avatar when Aaang sees Gyatso's corpse. When he goes into avatar mode there, all the avatar statues across the world lit up, and its how they found out.... I personally also loved this take, as many other details of the llive action
I love that this series and the performances get better and better every episode, a sign of a sure to be classic. I am new to this world and I was transfixed from the beginning to the final chapter. I NEED season 2 now. And I’m going to start the animated series for the first time.
@RaggedyPack they left out the avatar state on the boat scene because they saved it for the end of the first episode and they are going with aang not knowing how to control the avatar state and you see that when kyoshi avatar takes over his body in this episode for the fighting to show him what the avatar state could do.
this episode is a 9.9/10 , I really liked, the only thing I regret in this episode is that we didn’t get the credits of Avatar with water, earth, fire, air. It’s only a detail but it’s a detail that counts, that’s why I don’t put 10/10. That said, it’s the best episode in my opinion.
The only thing I didn’t like that I would change about the costumes in the First Episode is the fact all of their costumes looked cleaned and bright. Their clothing did not look worn for a number of years. But in this episode after being in snow, dirt, & water the clothes are starting to look warm and they’re look better now.
I really liked the connection Sokka and Suki both were great, Moreover with hindsight I think it’s a pity that Suki is not part of the trip because her character is very interesting and she would have made a good duet with Sokka since the 2 are not master bender
Okey so the big change here is when they use Kyoshi to kickass enemy during the avatar state which was originally should have been Roku. But it's fine for me since i got the chance to see my favorite avatar some kicking ass es other than the books...and it also makes a lot of sense why she summoned.
I still didn't watch the first live action episode I watched it for the first time with you guys & I'm watching the second episode with yorl as well cause what I have here doesn't want to work so ya thank you for reacting to it now I can also get a glimpsed this is gonna be AWESOME.
And now we're at first of 2 choices in this show that I didn't like.... Kyoshi's portrayal/characterization. Kyoshi was a strong and imposing character in ATLA but she was also calm and steady. Even when fighting an enemy, she was calm and collected -- she never even raised her voice. In this series however she comes off as antagonistic and volatile - even slightly erratic. Yelling at Aang and lecturing him for running away -- which, I think is totally outside of her personality in ATLA. I enjoyed the other choices they made here - like actually getting to talk to her this early on. I don't hate that Kyoshi was the one revealing information about the Avatar State instead of Roku. I liked that she got to take over so she could fight and save her people -- it was a much more poignant possession than what we saw in the ATLA. And I LOVED that fight scene!! OMG, I rewatched that scene like 3 times because it was so dope! But the moments leading up to it, when we meet her and she's just nothing like her personality in the cartoon.. I did not like it. She comes off as a warmonger or a conqueror instead of the isolationist she was. This is one reason why I would give the show a 8 or 9 out of 10 instead of a perfect 10. I can deal with situational changes or changes in certain dynamics to make things flow better in a live action adaptation --- but what I can't vibe with is a personality change like this. I was legit taken aback during those conversation scenes. I was like... who dis? You may look like Kyoshi but you sure don't act like her. What I love though is Suki! I love that she's totally into Sokka and is bombing because the only way she knows how to connect with someone is with her fighting skill. And of course, he doesn't get that it's her love language!! Love it! I think they adapted their relationship well in this.
You guys should react to the snow society, it is a very good movie and I would like to watch your reaction (btw watch it in Spanish, the og language)❤❤
So my only issue with how you guys and actually it was only one dude I believe his name was Blake…. How he was so disappointed in a few things that weren’t in the life adaptation that was in it the cartoon. First thing, do you really expect an exact replica of the cartoon. Last time I checked the live movie that they did was crappy on all levels. Acting visuals bending everything was crappy about this and the new one was 100 times better. And my thing is I guess you just can’t people there’s no reason to be so nitpicky about it is what I’m saying. But that’s my humble opinion
I don’t know what the fuss is about? Couldn’t even make it through the first episode it was too meh! Don’t like the style or the acting which leaves me cold. Sorry guys this one’s a miss for me. Just one of those things either it clicks for you or it doesn’t. Best of luck. You can’t win them all! 😂
you're literally the reason there hasn't been more avatar content in the last 10 years. sure, you have the right to think it is trash but treating as an universal truth specially when you're trying to downplay someone else's excitement is just pure stupidity. And I also think this series has some big mistakes, don't think this show is perfect or anything near it. The only reason people consider this trash is that sometimes it's not like the show.
@@tomascoelho5562 It’s trash because it’s poorly written, directed, and acted. Not because it doesn’t follow the show to a tee. But it further proves that a live action remake in and of itself is offensive to animation.
Simmer down fam. This is no where near the greatness of the cartoon sure but calling it garbage because it’s not the goat like the original is dramatic. And who is it offending? This is fun, no need to make it that serious - Blake

Episode 6 was one of the best episodes for me, just because of how they handled Zuko' backstory and the whole 41st Division thing.
In the novels Kyoshi was a 7 foot tall lesbian who fell in love with her fire bender guard. She was also around 270 when she died as the longest living avatar. Wasn't she Bi, not lesbian?
I love that they gave Kyoshi a theme.

Never really watched the OG animation so I don't know which parts have been changed and I think they have done a great job on the show
Did you watch the Netflix series? What was your favorite episode? What is your favorite character or characters until now?
The fans demanded for more Kyoshi;
We asked, and they DELIVERED🏆😂

Casting so far is amazing. Especially for ozai. I knew him from Hawaii five o
I really hope there will be a 2nd season
What a episode like i was hyped the whole time
Great reaction. Loved this episode. I’m fine with changes so long as they make sense and don’t change the character’s personality and motivations.
They kept the original soundtracks with some new ones. 😢❤
A combination of Japanese, Thai, & Chinese delicious foods and desserts.
Sokka to MoMo. “Hey! That’s Owwwwwwer Feeeeeewd!”
All I know about this story is from the old movie, which didnt make sense. Im watching this with you and another channel. So far I think its awesome.
