These guys went the route of “fuck it, it has unlimited reserve ammo because it’s Forerunner”.
I think the new forms indicates that the infection forms has taking proper control of its host given that the host’s body is more flood like, wish bingos added that such detail to the Mission Covenant and Cortana, plus Halo
9:19 really interesting aspect to add the mind effect/screeching to make the marines turn on you. Its kinda impactful. But also slightly funny bc Arby is probably like "Oh I've slaughtered humans on a regular basis before, no biggie 😅🥴".
It probably did affect him somewhat, since as we all know in Halo 2 he realized that all of his efforts, all of the billions if not trillions of humans he slaughtered, was all for a lie told by the Prophets. This moment probably reminded him of all that.
I'm going to run this by you, see how it sounds. The Elites in Bungie's canon are elite field commanders, and ship commanders. They don't bother getting out of bed for anything less than an ODST squad, or a MAC gun pointed at their ship, or a warthog with a Gauss cannon attached. Prior to 2552, their existence was speculative, at best. Brutes, grunts, drones, jackals, and hunters are responsible for most of the civilian and UNSC casualties during the course of the war. As for the glassing cannons? Those a Prophet had to oversee, to sanctify the cleansing glyphs (Covenant graffiti). Thel 'Vadamee pursued the Pillar of Autumn from the military fortress world Reach, so there's no doubt that tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of lives are on his hands as fleet commander. However, upon arriving at Halo, he was unable to destroy the Pillar of Autumn, and simply didn't have the time nor the patience to deal with the humans after the Flood was released. Furthermore, the command crew were captured, not executed, much like in Halo 2, and 3. The games have a strange dissonance from the books, in that I cannot recall a single time when humans were captured rather than killed in the books. The only indicator that even more blood is on his hands is 'I will continue MY campaign against the humans!' at a time when the lore gave no reason for the war in the first place--maybe the first humans they came in contact with were atheists, and maybe the Outer Colonies pirated their technology and bombed Thel Vadamee's seaside vacation resort, with his mother in tow. Maybe Thel was only brought in due to the incompetence of prior commanders. Who knows? However, The Fleet of Particular Justice, in 343's lore, under Thel Vadamee's command, was responsible for over one billion human deaths, and a mere 23,000 military deaths, spread over 120 ships. Kind of makes you wonder why there's been no assassination mission yet.

Really enjoy the horror element put in this mission. Using your flashlight to see around you with few light sources scattered around. It has what the mission Cortana should've had, more dark areas and a bigger focus on having enemies flank and surprise the player. This mission also makes use of the flood biomass to good effect, increasing the amount closer to the Gravemind while leaving rooms with some sort of identity.
I lot of people are hating on the voice acting but give the people that created this mod credit they went all this way to create a mod with not only voice acting but custom cutscenes
The marines killing eachother was really cool, makes the gravemind a lot more intimating and it makes a lot of sense. The Forerunner architecture could be improved, its a little over designed and orange is not a good forerunner color in my opinion. Otherwise a very solid flood level and a flood hive is a perfect space for a boss fight. Maybe add some more weapons even if the new gun can do it all. Most importantly huge thank you for making more quality Halo to play and a story thats set in the Halo we know 🙏
God this is so good! That flood hive section is what I wish the mission Cortana was like. And to hear the Prophet of Truth speak in his original Halo 2 voice was great.
Yeah the cortana mission is weird cause every surface is covered in biomass like there wouldn't be enough food for the flood to do that if there was they coulda eaten the chief instantly. It shoulda looked like the keyes mission with extra flood stuff

Gotta say, the long landscape shots before and after the action starts are my favorites in any movie or game, and these ones are spectacular! It captures the essence of Halo's cinematography well
Extremely well made., Also impressed with the characters.. you form an attachment to them with the chatter and nicely written dialogue and the way you lose em is tragic lol. Good twist. That cinematic was incredible too
It actually makes so much sense that when the arbiter tries to activate forerruner terminals and switches, failsafe systems activate, making it harder for non reclaimers to access, while the arbiter has the help of a monitor, it should take the covenant twice the time to access any system in forerruner installations
thats the type of stuff that happened when they fought the forerunners they kept mutating and learnjng and growing thats why the halo rings were made the forerunners couldnt handle them

My only complaint is that The Prophet of Truth is very deliberate in the way he speaks, Bungie didn't characterize him as the type to stumble over his words like he did in the outro cutscene

Very well done, the atmosphere, dialog, and story are very well done. I just have some general feedback. (Though most of these are nit-picks) 1. At 10:00 I'd recommend lowering the weapon a bit more to the bottom right so the player can better see their surroundings. 2. Some of the melee animations need some tweaking, maybe a bit more exaggeration. 3. The lip animation and scream of anguish could be improved, but they're fine as is. Pros: 1. The atmosphere is impeccable. 2. The lighting and such is downright cinematic. 3. Most of the animation is fluid and very impressive whilst the rest is fairly decent. 4. The integration of additional weapons is done quite well. 5. The Hivemind sequences, unlike base game Cortana sequences, don't feel interruptive or annoying and actually help to immerse you. All around fantastic job for only the 3rd mission.
Imma say this for all of us.......this is well made asf jesus. The acting is kinda good but the dialogue is really realistic in my opinion and the idea of a proto-gravemind or just gravemind breaking the minds of the last 3 marines forcing them to kill each other was just perfect. Also that brute, the warlord of the covenant has an actual good story unlike halo 4 and 5 because yuck ofc.
I’m curious to know what AI generated audio voices of the arbiter would help contribute to this mod. Even without any OG voice actors, this was hard work from the heart and absolutely incredible. Hope to see more to come!
Is this a different gravemind? Because it seems like it doesn’t know arbiter, and it seems less poetic and more blatantly evil? Unless its angry it got wrecked in 3?
It's a different entity, but graveminds also share some memories, maybe it was playing coy? This one was created from the bodies of this station after the infection spread from the crashed Dreadnaught thousands of years ago, different, body, same infection.
@@halonccool so we have a halo 2 situation where the outbreak happened millennia ago, (those damn meddlers) I really like the telekinetic part thats a cool idea that, he could do in theory but we never see in game, great job 💜
My only misunderstanding here is why isn’t the sentinels for one fighting the flood and two why can’t the other monitor control them. I don’t see why the sentinels are fighting with the flood to stop you unless mendicant bias is back controlling those sentinels. But other than that fantastic level design and new weapons and flood forms over all. Edit. Just saw the monitor that was destroyed then giving the sentinels access to flood. Nice twist.
I've still got the first two to play...but damn these just keep getting better. Far superior to anything 343 have made ❤ I mean that in a sense of higher praise than it may sound 😅
First off let me just say that this mod is fantastic and calling it a mod feels like its not doing it justice. I only want to criticise it to give feedback that I feel would make it better. Compared to alot of the other missions in Halo 3, the first section atleast, feels quite heavy on the scripting. I like that each of the marines had character. But Halo 3 was especially good at not overdoing it. It gives you a chance to look around and take in your surroundings and hear other more simple parts of the game like the wind blowing. It gave you a chance to just live in the level if you know what I mean. The joking around between the marines is funny in measured amounts, but in my opinion atleast, it can become annoying to the player if it's constant. Also I thought it was valuable to point out that marines usually only ask rhetorical questions, and usually the random conversations between marines end after 2 or 3 lines rather than them having full conversations. The level design is awesome, the environnment you've created feels very real and feels right at home in Halo. And I think you could give that a chance to shine more if we weren't always listening to the chatter. Also when it comes to the voice acting, I understand that it's not going to be studio level, but sometimes it becomes obvious that somebody is "putting on" the voice. And even if the actors normal voice doesn't sound very marine like, I think it would sound more natural if they just spoke in their normal voices and would break immersion alot less. It might not sound like how marines have always sounded, but they would probably sound and feel more real. That said, I am so glad people are making stuff like this. And I hope to see this just get better and better until you have basically a full arbiter game. also the cutscenes are UNREAL and they really bring the whole thing together nicely. Can't thank you lot enough for making my dreams of an arbiter game come to life, Excited to see more!
The only problem is the talking, it should sound more robust even in the coms. Idk if I’d recommend using an older mic. I’m guessing this takes place after the Ark missions?
You can't say that there were Surviving Forerunners AFTER the Firing of the Halo Array, the Nervous System would have been Destroyed and Useless to the Flood, not to mention a Solution would have been used to Dissolve the Corpses so the Ecosystem wouldn't be Messed up.
The gravemind talking to the artbiter seems to have a different personality from halo 2/3's gravemind and its floods little red things are green instead almost as if this is a different flood faction.

The second I heard there could be anything in there, my initial thoughts were the flood. I was not dissapointed
Damn, hurts right here in my meow meow knowing there's not going to be any official campaign content for years
is this available on the steam workshop, clicking on the link sends me nowhere. if it is id love to know how its looks amazing
Not at the moment, it will be back up again when the next update drops. Last MCC update nuked it
@@halonc just watched that episode and looks amazing cant wait for it to go live again
It’s sad when modders do Halo better than the actual Halo development team lol what has this world come to?
Long lost Halo 3 DLC?, Jokes aside this mod and the voice acting is very impressive
Honestly why can’t future halo games be like this
And this is a thousand times better than anything 343 has done in the last 15 years.
Nice work on this the sotry is really good and those new models are amazing looking keep up the good work
This was a blast to play. I look forward to the next part. Loving this mod
the animtaion is so well done the scenes lool anivesery looking love it
Excellent job on the soundtrack
This is the sort of shit they need add to MCC in a huge Mods Playlist
This right here is a thing of beauty
This is really well done!!
How can there be so much Bio Mass if there hadn't been any Sentiment Life in this Station in Millennia?
Nice environment work. Makes me wish we'd gotten the full Cortana level.
Nice twist.
Later in the mission just before the last area there's some dialogue which explains that 😉
This looks great! All I suggest is work on the dialogue audio in combat sections. Sometimes it’s hard to make out what they’re saying
I've still got the first two to play...but damn these just keep getting better.
Far superior to anything 343 have made ❤ I mean that in a sense of higher praise than it may sound 😅
This is a masterpiece right here
First off let me just say that this mod is fantastic and calling it a mod feels like its not doing it justice.
Can't thank you lot enough for making my dreams of an arbiter game come to life,
Excited to see more!
Absolutely insane for this to be a mod, only thing that’s turning me off is the voice acting.
Arbiter now has the added title of Flood Slayer
