  • In this video, Naruschka Henriques, Head of Cosmetic Dermatology at the botonics Plastic Surgery Group, discusses which nose types and nose concerns and be addressed with a non-surgical nose job using dermal filler injections.
    She discusses the pros and cons of a surgical rhinoplasty versus a non-surgical nose enhancement. Neither is better than the other, simply one option may be more appropriate depending on your nose concerns.
    Naruschka discusses these common nose issues than can be improved non-surgically:
    - crooked or asymmetric noses
    - dorsal hump or hook nose
    - saddle nose or ski slope nose
    - lumps, bumps can be refined
    - wide nostrils or 'dragon nose'
    - droopy tips can be lifted
    - retracted columellas can be improved
    What cannot be corrected non-surgically and therefore requires a rhinoplasty surgery is if your nose is too:
    - long
    - high
    - thick
    - wide
    Non-surgical nose enhancements are compared to surgical rhinoplasty with respect to:
    - procedure time
    - anesthetic
    - hospital stay
    - sensitivity period
    - back to work
    - full recovery
    - results visible
    - duration of results
    - cost

    Hi, i'm so glad i found this... i think i have a combination of all of these things haha... so it was really relieving that i could relate to all of this. I think surgery is too big of a risk for me, and honestly... i don't think i can take that risk and i'm too scared haha (I'm 20). I think my nose size is alright, not too big not too small but the hooked appearance makes it look so much bigger from the side. Now that i think about it i'm not looking for a huge dramatic change... and all this time these little things were the things that were really bothering me. One thing i'm super self-conscious about is the side profile and how i have a bump there near the top so it gives it that hooked appearance like you mentioned, if i could just get that bump removed and the tip portion of it to be elevated it would even out and i would have a straighter more pleasing look from the side... also from the front part, i feel like my bridge kind of curves near the bottom to one side i need that straightened out. Thank you again! :)

      Hi Layla, thanks for your question! A round or bulbous tip probably can't be improved non-surgically. That might be more appropriate to address with a rhinoplasty surgery. I'd be happy to assess some of your photos and give you an opinion. You can contact us from this form: www.botonics.co.uk/contact-us/

    • @botonicssurgery
      @botonicssurgery  7 лет назад

      Hi Chrisiden, No, we do not perform dermal filler treatments with
      permanent filler, and no reputable clinic should do so either. It is considered
      very bad practice, and can lead to serious complications in the long term.
      Permanent fillers can migrate to unwanted locations and the only solution at
      that point is to remove them surgically leaving very visible scars. For this
      reason, we only inject temporary (hyaluronic acid based) or longer term (e.g.
      Radiesse) fillers, but never permanent fillers. We strongly advise against
      having permanent fillers injected anywhere.

      they can lift the tip which will give you the curved "ski jump" side profile you are looking for. as for the front profile there's not much they can do except make the top part wider to go along with the wider botton and so decrease the / \ look- but it would then be more like | | than | |

    Doubt anyone will see this but worth a shot, does anyone know if there is a permanent dermal filler solution? I like the idea of non surgical nose jobs but going back every year or so to top it up doesn't appeal too much so basically is there a type of dermal filler that is stronger? maybe more expensive but longer lasting. thanks

    • @botonicssurgery
      @botonicssurgery  10 лет назад +3

      Hi Wasim, thanks for your question! Actually, it is a question we get asked quite a bit, especially about nose enhancements. Please stay away from permanent fillers! Most horror stories you hear about are caused by permanent fillers. If a blood vessel is blocked with a permanent filler, then you can have necrosis (i.e. death of skin) or even blindness and there is little or no emergency intervention to solve the event. If you have a complication with a permanent filler, you have a permanent complication. I fully understand it may not be convenient to attend for regular treatments, but your safety must come first. We can safely use longer lasting (but not permanent) dermal fillers on our clients once we've treated them a few times and we both are happy with the outcome. The down side of longer lasting fillers is that they cannot be instantly dissolved like the hyaluronic acid fillers we use for initial treatments. Hope that answers your question Wasim and please let us know if you'd like to see one of our specialists for a personal consultation.

      botonicssurgery Thank you for the reply, I am going to get the dermal filler whenever I book my holidays from work. Can I ask what the difference is between 1.0ml Perlane Lido and 2.0ml, is it simply that the 2.0 filler lasts longer?

    • @botonicssurgery
      @botonicssurgery  10 лет назад

      Wasim Jaan Hi Wasim, thanks for your question! The difference between 1.0ml and 2.0ml Perlane Lido is the QUANTITY of dermal filler. The ml refers to millilitres. The majority of our non surgical nose job clients require 1.0ml of Perlane to refine minor bumps and asymmetries. The larger volume of 2.0ml is necessary when more structural work is needed such as building up the nose bridge root between the eyes, which is necessary for some ethnicities. Great to hear you'll have your filler after your holidays! Please ring us on 0845 680 1964 (in the UK) or email info@botonics.co.uk when you're ready to book your free consultation with Naruschka.

      Hi Natakeiro, this is something we could potentially help you with - we often see clients who wish to create a 'ski slope' effect and this is achieved by elevating the tip of the nose. You can email us on info@botonics.co.uk for more information and even send in some pictures to have these assessed for suitability by our specialists.

    • @botonicssurgery
      @botonicssurgery  7 лет назад

      Hi Alexa, thanks for your comment! Making bulbous nose tips smaller is one of the few things we usually CANNOT do non-surgically. This is because it is usually caused by nose tip cartilage being too far apart. If it appear wide because the tip droops, then that IS something we can usually improve non-surgically. Naruschka can see you near Horsham by appointment on some days when she is not in Harley Street. Please send us a few clear photos for assessment to info@botonics.co.uk and I'll have Naruschka review them and come back with her opinion. Thanks Alexa!

    Hello, i was just wondering how would you be able to change the shape of the nostrils with just using the fillers? I have been contemplating getting these fillers done for a really long time because my nose really bothers me when I laugh. I don't really care about my nose bridge but the tip and the alar bothers me a lot.

    • @botonicssurgery
      @botonicssurgery  9 лет назад +1

      Hi Mawi, thanks for your question! It may, or may not, be possible to change the shape of your nostrils with dermal fillers. For some clients with very wide nostrils or alar, only surgery will achieve the desired outcome (usually an alar base reduction surgery). For others, we can sometimes lift the nose tip and project the columella (i.e. the bit between the nostrils), which pulls the outer edges of the alar in, thus narrowing the base of the nose. However, you say your nose bothers you when you laugh - this is probably due to an overly strong depressor septi nasi muscle. This is the muscle connected to the tip of your nose, which can cause the tip to drop when laughing or smiling. We often severe this muscle during a surgical rhinoplasty. You're welcome to send us some photos to info@botonics.co.uk for a more detailed assessment. Best of luck Mawi!
