I have “Jackie’s Girl” in my collection and I was very surprised. Most authors only care about sales by selling garbage but you can tell with Kathleen’s stories she’s still very protective of Jackie Kennedy and I can see why Jackie trusted her so much. Jacqueline was VERY Nice and generous and even left Provi (her Dominican nanny) funds from her will. Jackie is a class act and I’m glad Kathleen’s book was tasteful. I highly recommend this. Some may see this book as a betrayal, not because it was a sleazy tell-all about Jackie, which it clearly was not, but just because it was written at all. My thinking is that it may once have fallen into that category, especially if Jackie was still alive, but with the passing of time and the softening of things, and what with Jackie being gone now for 23 years, it's more a part of history. And anyway, I don't think this lovely, soft-spoken Irishwoman is capable of treachery. Let's all relax.

I remember they were very quiet. Later Jackie O went to the last row of seats and took a nap before landing. All three ladies were unassuming. Later I learned the yacht Christina was anchored at the bay, where they were to sail from. Being so close to these ladies who were part of history was amazing.

Thanks Katy McKeon. It's a good book. You need to tell your story as your part for historical records for us to get a glimpse of our mysterious and a private former First Lady. Her spirit and courage, poised and calm with dignity as she walked leading the funeral procession behind her husband's coffin with the shocked nation for what happened on Nov 22, 1963. The other horror was that, she herself was close to be hit by a bullet too missed by inches. She never spoke of that day in public. She was so private till the end. For that, she will be the greatest First Lady we ever had. For 1036 days.

She had her moments in private. She wasn’t anymore a saint than most woman who married to a philandering husband. She knew how to protect herself and when to be available to him. JFK was what he was just like his father was to his mother. But all Kennedy woman put up with behavior by ignoring it as much as possible. So the legacy she tried very hard to create, after his death, was accepted by the public for awhile. But when she left the country, many understood after Bobby Kennedy’s death, she was very concerned about her children. Kennedy’s were not Royalty, Joe Kennedy was a bootlegger during prohibition and liked to the then underworld. Many Massachusetts residents knew this and laughed about it in private. Jackie Kennedy was used to bring class to Jacks life. So let’s be truthful about this family....

She worked for an incredible woman during an incredible time. A time that, tragically, has passed. I know why; in fact, I can comprehend the innumerous reasons why. Sad my people can't. sigh

Jacqueline Kennedy was a world famous fortune hunter! Christina Onassis never warmed to her step-mother!
Jacqueline needed Ted Kennedy and top New York City Attorneys to force Christina Onassis to settle for 25 Million ( after Ari Onassis died of a rare disease)! That money put Caroline and John/ RIP on Easy Street.
Jacqueline then left her lucky heirs 74 Million in assets and real estate when she passed on in 1994!

NO PITY FOR ARI HE WANTED THE BEST OF EVERYTHING, WAS RUDE,CRUDE AND VERY VULGER. ALWAYS TRYING TO HUMILIATE JACKIE IN FRONT OF OTHERS. HIS CHILDREN AND SISTERS TREATED HER VERY BAD. SHE STAYED IN NEW YORK ALL WINTER FOR SCHOOL AND SHE AND CHILDREN WENT TO THE ISLAND DURING THE SUMMER. MY SON MANAGED TO GET ME A COPY OF THEIR AGREEMENT THEY BOTH SIGNED BEFORE THE WEDDING. THERE WERE VERY SPECIFIC STIPULATIONS OF WHAT SHE WOULD AND WOULD NOT SO. ARI MET HIS MATCH WITH JACKIE. SMART LADY.

Jackie suffered with PTSD for her whole life after the shooting.. Need to read "Once upon a secret" .. by Mimi Alford.. About her affair with JFK when she was 18 and he was 43.. JFK is not the wonderful person people think he was..

I would love to know what Jackie's thoughts were on the assassination of her husband. Did she think LHO was the lone assassin? Did she think there was a conspiracy? I know she wore her blood soaked dress while LBJ was being sworn in and said I want them to see what they did,but that was right afterwards. Just wonder what her thoughts were on the matter years later.

@justthink5854 I know. I believe after RFK was killed she said something like they are killing Kennedy's and I need to get my kids out of this country. I do wonder if JFK Jr was murdered also? I mean its very plausible though he didnt have any power but he could of went into politics eventually and he was very charismatic.

I’ve not read the book. If it doesn’t get any more personal than what they discussed, I don’t see why family would mind. I hate when employees and friends write tell-all books about famous people. A real friend won’t write anything that would embarrass their friend if they knew about it.

People blame Jacqueline Kennedy and being a MoneyGrabber but if you live in a world of famous people I think most of them are very happy to be paid what they're not worth and if she was kind to her assistant and she was kind in public and at work she has the wherewithal to be a good person most people- Turn down the money whether it's there or pay for a way for them to be comped off work mobile and I'm sure that the people that are criticizing her would make me do the same thing at best

That was Mary Barelli Gallagher. You could tell almost on every page that she was a little in love with JFK. Built herself up to be more important than she actually was. Bit of jealousy there I think.

I think that's just what women did in those days .. especially if married to men in prominent positions. After her marriage with Onassis, she ended up with what seemed like a very nice man, who cared for her in the way that she had always wanted.

Jackie was way to good for JFK. He cheated on her like crazy and lets not forget about the woman who drowned because Kennedy didn't want people finding out he was cheating on his woman.
