I use tulle a lot for my granddaughter and I'm going to try that (I saw the white one at the end of your tutorial) so she can have matching flowers on her tutus, skirts etc... Thanks for the WONDERFUL ideas I can't wait to get started!!
I really love these flowers! I tried your technique and made some of my own. I used a satin like fabric and I really like how they turned out. Thank you so much for sharing!!!! ~Esterlyn
@BethanyKartchner congratulations ... your work is beatiful and is not impornt youe finger ... realy good job ... bello saludos desde tijuna mexico ... tanks for your video
I made flowers with black satin and layered it with a black organza with velvet polka dots. Used a rhinestone brad for the center. It came out amazing!
@okiegirl59 Thank you so much for sharing this with me! It really means a lot to me. Sounds like the wedding will be absolutely gorgeous! Your daughter is so lucky to have an artistic momma like you! Best wishes!
Hello bethany I loved your video's,I went ahead tried it out your right they are beautiful. Although it does take some practice with the melting part. You mentioned about using them on your brother's wedding for sash. Do you have pic's for ideas. Thanks alot for your amazing step by step video's. Chow!
Kathy, rather than using an open flame, you can use a heat gun to melt the fabric. It's safer, and you can really control how much and where you burn by manipulating the gun.
@SuchaCaligrrl You know, I don't think I've tried melting satin, but it is made out of rayon, polyester and acetate which are all man made so it might work? If you try it, make sure you do so in your sink so you can put out the fire if it doesn't. And let me know, I'm totally curious!
@SuchaCaligrrl I have had success with satin ribbon. Burning the edges to prevent it from unraveling works wonders...only take a quick pass through the flame.
@leticiajoachin Yes, I do. Check out by blog. I can't include a link here, but if you go to my blog and search under Project Completed you should be able to find them. (Sept 15, 2010)
@okiegirl59 Oh my goodness, I'm in love! Do you have a blog? Will you post pics? Maybe you could email me pics, if you have a chance. I'd love to see the results. Sounds just breathtaking!

Another commenter said that she tried it on a satin-like fabric and it turned out great. So it is worth a shot!

Sweetie, you made my day. Thank you for your comment. I'm so glad that you like them!
@10CherryBlossom01
A close cousin to organza is chiffon, is that what you mean? I bet that synthetic chiffon would work too.
@gr81gkar
Yes, there are a few people who have commented about it. As long as you can balance the heat gun and the petals you should be fine.
Can satin be melted?
@katz1941
Yeah for you! congrats!
I make these a lot.
WOOT!

@pantojay21
I'm not sure I would simply because it is so hot that it would probably melt the organza.
has anyone used a heatgun to melt, is this possible?
polyester works well
