◆Fantasy 楽曲紹介： 1978年の、Earth Wind & Fire によるヒットナンバー。
日本人はよく「アース」と略すが、元は12星座の持つ４つの特性、地、風、火、水から、リーダー、モーリス・ホワイトの星座（射手座）の特性をよく表す３つをとり、チーム名にしたという。 この一曲は、そんな彼らのスピリチュアルな側面を象徴する一曲。
スピルバーグの1977年の映画「未知との遭遇」にインスパイアされて書き上げたのだという。それまでは地球を支配しにくる怪物的なイメージが強かった異星人を、愛や平和を知り対話を求める高文明存在として扱ったことでセンセーションを起こした映画。
モーリス・ホワイトはインタビューで「この曲はただのディスコ曲とは違う。一度聞けば、その世界観に自分を置きたくなる。」と語っている。
70年代アメリカでは、ベトナム戦争や大統領の汚職で政府や伝統への信頼が揺らいでおり、既存のキリスト教価的値観以外の精神世界が求められたという。この背景が、仏教の広がりやヒッピー文化の発展に繋がった。
その時代を表すかのように、この楽曲には高度に神智学的な要素が入り、難解な歌詞が見られる。 「我々以外の存在に出会うことになる」は強烈なメッセージで、ファンタジーどころか、まるで聞き手にそれが事実だと突きつけるかのような強烈な説得力を持っている。
80年代ディスコで踊り狂った人々は彼らのジャンルを「ディスコ」だと思っているが、シンガーやミュージシャンは「ソウル」や「ファンク」と呼ぶ。
当時求められた最先端のビートと、音楽でなければ伝わらない高度なメッセージを見事に融合した永遠の名曲。
◆アレンジコンセプト：
今回はソロパートを作らずに三声（SAT）にこだわってアレンジした。こういう楽曲をかっこ良く仕上げるにはかっこいいソロを長くするのが手っ取り早いが、それだと、多くの人が集まって歌う歌にはなりにくい。ラブソングとは違う、せっかくの宇宙的メッセージなので、「全員で歌詞を言う」ことを大切にした。 ただその分、最大の難題は「歌詞を覚えること」になっている。
バンドは今回単純な打ち込みではなく、彩糸乃七の作成したビートに、ノブリンこと大澤伸広のBass、加部輝のギター、木島タローのピアノ、でハイブリッドで仕上げた。
※「パワーコーラス」は、ゴスペルをルーツとし、ゴスペルもゴスペル以外も歌い、宗教活動を目的とはしない合唱音楽のジャンルです。

Amazing rendition of the one of the greatest songs ever. Brought tears to me eyes to see how R&B song from decades ago being sung expertly by this group so 'different' from EW&F. Maybe there is hope of humanity!

@@truthsaviour8804 I would recommend that you not hold on to that belief. There actually had been a black samurai. Many Ex-pat Japanese have been a part of the civil rights movements in the 60's and yeah when Malcolm X was shot it was a Japanese American women that held him as he took his last breaths. It has not been a perfect thing but to say they don't love us is just as inaccurate as it could be. Some do. Some don't. The biggest issue home island Japanese have with black people is that they are not Japanese - xenophobia while powerful there is hardly just a Japanese thing.

It is refreshing to see these young folks enjoying singing old school music that I grew up on!
リアルタイムでアースを知る世代としては驚嘆に値する素晴らしいコーラスでした。「ファンタジー」はファンキーな色合いが失せたころのヒット曲ですね。「レッツ・グルーブ」でアース健在を示したときはうれしかったことを思い出しました。何度も聴き返すほどに素晴らしかったです。お礼を言うのも変ですが、ありがとうございました。

I know that in the original version it is divided in 2 parts, the first half is sung by the wind and the fire, and the second half by the earth and the fire, here were the three elements together beautiful interpretation.
