I love the orient dive watches, I have never had one that performed badly and It just does its job so well.

Sat here in the blazing sunshine sporting the 50 Atmos PVD and started wondering… Do these black watches get particularly hot in the sun? Can they get hot enough to be damaged internally?
I got myself the Phoibos Reef Master in DLC. Just love it!

Some people won’t get it but the Damasko knocks it out of the park for me. Then again they are my favourite brand so I’m biased somewhat.
By the way a polished fine mesh would suit your Squale, or with that be too BLING?
I have a polished mesh on my other Squale, have thought about it, but wanted something different.

A Navy Blue leather strap would look stellar on your Squale. It’d accent the light blue and is a complimentary color to that orange seconds hand.

Anyone that has carried a Beretta service pistol knows that claiming to have the same coating manufacturer as what they use is no selling point. My personal Beretta and my duty pistol are both the least durable coatings of any firearm I own xD

F91w Casio and my black torch to make up for the poor light on the 91w. The perfect edc combination for a total of $15.
I do have a black Seagull Ocean Star which I love to wear with its great wrist presence.
for the ray raven, I picked up a nato black strap with a red stripe down the middle. Absolute knock out.

Love the Squale and that Damasko!, can I ask what is the difference in the coating between the 2? (you’d think it’d be hard to beat a coating done by beretta🤔)
The Damasko coating is more like a DLCL; it actually is harder than the substrate. The Squale one instead is built for wear resistance; without the same increased surface hardness.
Long Island Watch, Cool and thanks! Looking on your site I couldn’t find a black Damasko diver. Do they do one, or do I have to look at Sinn if I wanted the same hardness in black in a diver?

Hi Marc. Nice video. I actually like black watches, I have a couple myself. I don't know why Squale gets trashed so much. I think they have some good watches for the money. I also like a couple of Steinhart's that get bashed too. I have no idea. ETA movements are Eta movements. Selita seems to be in many entry-level swiss watches. I really like your channel and so many micro brands I never have seen before. It is refreshing.
Thanks Scott. The Squale issue is due to alot of misinformation online; I'd say if it was my company I'd be going after libel and slander cases like crazy.
I just picked up a Seiko SRPB55 Samurai for $200 second hand (never worn). The post pics were not that great and I didn’t even realize the case was black until I saw it in person. Lol. It’s nice to finally have a black cased watch in the mix.

Just took my Orient black Ray, set the time, day, date and going to wear it tomorrow when I go to work (ER Nurse) I have it on a black and grey NATO, but you mentioned a silicon band, really thinking I might look into it, will match my Samsung S10 + in a silicon case. I bought the watch from you, love it, great value. Haven't worn it in sometime. Usually wear my Marathon to work. Gonna change up. Last week or the week before wore my Phoibos quartz to work, one of my patients said something about it and he liked it. Told him were to get it (you) and the cost. Would consider wearing my plain 9 year old Stowa Fleiger but the constant washing of hands can put a toll on the leather strap.

It does look good. I have a PVD watch, it’s the Seiko SNZG17 and once you take it off its bracelet, I think it is the best looking field watch ever made. In fact, I sold my Hamilton Khaki long time ago when I got it and to this day am super pleased to my decision to replace the Hamilton with this one as my go-to field watch
I wanted to do a video without a Seiko, that's why you don't see the SNZG17 :)

I do, but I've done them recently.
Marc, all great choices. The Squale and the Damasko definitely catch the eye. The only other one I would add is one you don’t currently have in stock. That is Collins’ The Bronson. The 40mm case sits well and the aged lume and A-Uhr dial works well. The leather strap that feels like a great old baseball glove and with the color matched hardware finish one great looking watch.

Marc, you should totally sell Seiko SKX's in PVD black. I figured since you customize the bezels and crustals, it wouldnt be that much of a stretch to get the equipment to PVD the cases.

I knew you carried black watches, but why when you can get them in blue? Just kidding, always nice to see the "Matic". Damasko just makes amazing watches, maybe someday. That Citizen reminded me of my old Seiko quartz that is 5mm thick, I think it was from about 1988 or so ( it is the only two hander in my collection ).
Have a Citizen Navihawk it's black on black with a mesh bracelet which I need to get resized. Slightly cluttered and a pain in the ass to set but love it nevertheless. Need to give it some wrist time. I do wear the Blue Angel more often and like the leather band. Never really feel comfortable with bracelets, but the mesh feels better. I know many here and other forums go nuts when you mention quartz, but in some cases quartz is the better option, like the two I mentioned and my Seiko Navitimer. For those watches, at least to me quartz is the better option. Unless you want to spend thousands on a Breitling or similar.

Ohhhhhhhhh that Orient Ray is Killer! that's not just a PVD. That's like a nice gunmetal gray. Do they have that in a larger size?
They never did the XL in PVD.

Disagreeing with you. Yes, the Damasko is the more expensive, but the difference of quality and design over the Squale compensate for the price difference. It simply look fantastic.

The diver is a Squale-Matic (by Squale), which he sells. The tumbler watch is a prototype he discusses in a previous video, I believe he's had it a few weeks and it's something that will eventually be in production.

It's similar in price to almost any other Swiss auto. Maybe you're used to Seiko and miyota price?
Too high. Maybe when compared to Seikos and the features they provide I can't see the value of that 2nd watch and how it aligns against other watches 🤷♂️
I appreciate that some luxury watches that 'look' simple, no real complications, have complex mechanical workings + appointments (materials used) and maybe that's the case here.
