But it backfired, I reckon more people voted for them because of it, I have wanted him to win since week one.
I loved the way Chris said to Tess that he'd call for a taxi when she mentioned getting ready for the Sambathon.

I kind of disagree. Surely the BBC must realise Chris has largely saved Strictly this year. Before it started there was a lot of talk about the 'scandals' and people saying the programme was finished, but Chris has made people love it again. Chris & Dianne are being talked about all over social media and their routines are the most watched on RUclips. I'm sure the producers can see that. I think the sambathon was probably planned before the season started without any thought about how Chris would manage it.
Yeh they want him to win, they need positive stories.
Since he confirmed he can't do the strictly tour... they want him out. So obvious.

Craig has money invested in the tour so low marks for Chris from now on, no danceathon should be allowed in the programme at all. GO CHRIS you have entertained us from the start..
I agree that participating in a group dance, especially one that travels across the floor, is extremely difficult for someone without sight. However I do believe that there was thought given to how Chris could participate safely. Actually I imagine that he will have discussed his requirements for taking part with the show producers beforehand. Chris obviously cannot see where everyone else is on the floor and in open competition that would be dangerous, but this is a controlled environment and the seven pro dancers on the floor (all in control of their partners) all did their bit to protect Chris through their own floorcraft skills.
Things that I noticed: Diane kept Chris to the far left, with a clear line down that side. Johannes and Montell started to their immediate left, but Johannes immediately moved towards the centre to get out of Chris' way. In fact when their volta's would have put them on a crash course with Chris and Diane, Johannes changed direction and they danced them sideways instead of diagonally as intended. Lauren and JB were the only couple to really travel across the floor early on, and they ensured they stayed on the centre line until they could get to the opposite side of the floor. Diane kept Chris on the absolute outside track so that when they were asked to leave the floor, Chris could do so safely. I understand that people are troubled about Chris being placed amongst a whirl of bodies, but I do believe that consideration was given to how he could participate and don't forget that he participates in group dances where, again, you will see pro's and celebs doing their bit to make sure he is OK.
I'm not saying that it wasn't challenging for him, or nerve-wracking to know that 12 other people would be dancing in close proximity, but this is what it's like for blind people every day. Life goes on around them and when going about their daily life they have to place an enormous amount of trust in other people. What Chris is doing on the show is demonstrating that, given some accommodations, blind people can do the same things as sighted people. Chris and Diane for the win 😁

We are going to end up with a final involving at least three professionally trained dancers which is a sign of just how far removed from the original format strictly has become. I am very much hoping Chris still makes it and wins.
I called it as disgraceful the minute they announced the sambathon a few weeks back. The powers that be knew Chris had work commitments when they signed him so wouldnt be able to do the tour, what they weren't expecting was the magic and chemistry Dianne and Chris have managed to produce or that the public were going to back them.
The danceathon was a complete farce when they did it years ago and hasn't proved to be any different this time round.
Chris is a winner for me. He's blind and never danced before or been to drama school unlike the others. It would be unfair for him to leave at this point. How dare they try to evict him !

First of all how lovely to see you. Having given up on mainstream social media I have missed some of the Celebes I followed. I agree Vanessa the dance off was unfair on Chris. Never underestimate the power of the public vote. If you want him in vote vote vote!!!❤
Let's be honest, they didn't expect Chris to be any good and stay in this long. If they had, they wouldn't have signed him up knowing from the off that he couldn't do the tour. They were expecting him (and Pete!) to be in the dance off weeks ago where they could neatly have been cut. They keep forgetting that the viewing public are as interested in being entertained as they are in who the best dancer and Pete and Chris are proving very entertaining.
I totally agree. I love Chris and Dianne. I've now started to look at the formatting with a sharper eye after what you said last week. I also like your positive comments about Pete. I watched him on SAS and he has some confidence issues so we should all be behind him. Thank goodness I'm not a celebrity, so much stress!

I totally agree, the sambathon was so wrong and to me pointless. I wonder if they want Chris out because he can't do the tour. He has already put his own tour back once for Strictly so I understand he has commitments, but if he wins they usually do the tour and may be that has irked them. As for Jamie IMO the judges have been quite harsh on him of late and do not think he should have been voted off. If they carry on like this I may have to consider if I watch any further series as it's not the Strictly I once loved.
No Vanessa, Pete doesn't have what it takes, he does not deserve to still be there.

Outside pro choreographers also come in for Argentine Tango (the couple in black who lead the Blackpool group dance are Maria and Leandro the Arg Tango cheoreographers) and Salsa. NOT just Charleston. The Strictly pros only choreo The Ballroom Ten dances.
5 Ballroom dances-Foxtrot, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango and Quickstep.
5 Latin dances - Cha Ch Cha, Jive, Rumba, Samba and Paso Doble.
They do not choreo any othe theo other speciality dancces as mentioned above.

Strictly speaking it's an entertainment show. Most people vote for their favourites even if they're not the best dancer. After all the nonsense that's gone on this year they need someone popular to win who's been on the dreaded journey. Unfortunately Chris's own tour clashes with the Live Tour so he won't be able to take part which will be a great shame if he wins. As Vanessa says Craig produces the Live Tour.
Pete has become very popular even though he's not the best dancer & despite (or because!) of the pink trousers. Tasha should probably win but may not with Sarah knocking on the door too. And JB still has flashes of brilliance. I will continue to watch it albeit with a cynical eye & Jojo is still magnificent ❤
I'm hoping that Pete DOES go out next weekend - I am in the minority that realise it's a dance competition! I can't deny however, that the skills shown this year have been the best ever!
I think after 3 times in the dance off, maybe the public should have got their say and maybe Montell should have gone. Maybe something isn’t connecting to the audience there…

I gave Pete Wicks one of my allotted 3 votes last week because I thought he has improved so much each week like Jamie ( who I was very sorry to see leave ) Sara Hadland has never got any better each week because she is a trained dancer been in dance shows ( albeit was a long time ago ) but once you have had ballet training it never leaves you and that gives her an unfair advantage on the other dancers who haven’t .The whole programme is based on personality .

No I’m afraid you have got it wrong this time .that Sambathon has been done before and they couldent have left them out of the dance hence forth they were the first to be knocked out because it was too dangerous for them to Cary on .
As an ex dancer and teacher Jamie wasn't as good as everyone made out he is. Even james Jordan said he felt like he should be better than he was
James Jordan is a know all know nothing he is jealous of anyone who is better than him he is not missed from strictly you might catch him and his wife in one of the shopping centers with their bucket to collect their pennies from the public l could not believe when l saw this it was awful.
Jamie is a good dancerbe should not have gone the judges said he was the best make dancer yet it was his first time in the dance off montells 4th time could be 5th l have lost count she should have gone she is a good dancer jamie deserved to stay the public will put her and pete up this week next week it should be chris the following week sorry he is a lovely lovely guy but would it be fair if he won no, it would on the pity vote he is being over marked every week he is getting scores the same as sarah and vito getting a 10 this is not on for Shirley. to use language say he is exquisite bla bla bla and then nit picking on sarah and vito who are brilliant if pete or mo tell is not in the dance off l am switching off its all a big farce this year change the judges they have had their day .... .we need new faces and fair judges
Sorry as an ex dancer and teacher jamie wasnt as good. Montell isnt as great either. What knowledge of dancing and steps do you have actuaklt have and what if any have you preformed?
Chris footwork is amazing. His posture has improved and stop insulting him and others saying its sympathy. This guy not only can dance but has an amazing personality and has carried this show.
It is not a world championship. It's an entertainment programme
Tasha has had no journey and quite frankly like Sarah has been completely and utterly boring.

@@margueritahancock5472 All the judges said that this weeks' dance off was a shock as both couples danced beautifully. As a trained dancer I watched the dance off with my eyes glued to the footwork, as I felt that would be the battleground on which it would be decided who should go home. Jamie delivered a beautiful dance, but I saw one footwork fault. A tiny thing in the overall dance, but enough to be the thing that tips the mark in the other couple's favour. I used to be annoyed with the judging panel for their lack of lived experience in ballroom and latin, however you have Shirley, Motsi and Anton, who are all ex-competitors turned coaches and adjudicators and while they can sometimes get a bit carried away, I think it's the best judging panel the show has had for years.

Whoever chose Easy Lover for a Tango? Seriously ridiculous. Whoever leaves at this point, it's going to be someone good. Pete will probably make the final because all his social media friends and influencers are telling their followers to vote for him.
I have to agree with you about the producers. Pete was given the worst song this week. A tango is a song of fire and passion, so obviously he got a light breezy song that doesn't go with the spirit of the dance. He looked great, danced great, and the song was so jarring it was like they had got the wrong soundtrack playing by accident. The singers didn't help, they murdered that song worse than a drunk at karaoke. He was fully expecting to go home this week, or at least be in the dance off. You could see him talking to his partner during the announcement and when he and Montel were last ones standing he was obviously preparing to dance again. Then his face when he was safe was so shocked. He truly thought it was him dancing again. Poor Montel just isn't vibing with the voters, even if she's not the worst dancer.
The one I feel sorry for is Sara. She delivers every week and gets quite unfair criticism. She should have got a 40 for that Fosse routine, but how can someone be "too perfect"? And this week, didn't connect with her partner. Were we watching the same dance? That was equal to Tasha. I think the producers want Tasha and Montel in the final. They get the best outfits and the best songs. They haven't once been given something weird or a joke performance.
Chris is inspiring and incredible, but he's not going to win. I'm expecting Pete to go out next week, then Chris, then Sara. The viewers might throw a curve ball and save Sara, but unless it's a dance off between Montel and Tasha Sara will be out.

I don’t agree with the comments, this is a dance competition not a feel sorry sympathy show, I find it very unfair that some extremely good dancer have been voted yet Chris and Pete remain, I have huge respect for Chris and think he has done amazingly well but sorry it’s time to go! Pete is the better dancer of the two ….but of course it’s only my opinion … well no it’s not just mine let’s be honest.
I agree with you Chris & Dianne,s paso was awful, Craig RH would gave slammed any other pair for that stompy march about. Tough luck with sambathon, but that's the show

Chris and Diane are doing brilliantly. However, it is unfair to the other contestants if Chris is given any allowance for his disability. He has to be judged as a dancer, not a blind dancer. I do hope Chris and Diane win it, but it must be on merit and not because they have been given some leeway.
Wrong, when judging and voting it should be taken into account that he is blind, that is called Equity, it's not special treatment or an advantage, it's making reasonable adjustments to make sure disabled people are on a level playing field, it's moral.

Sorry I completely disagree with you. Firstly the sambathon was not designed to get Chris out. He has always wanted treated the same as everyone else. He knew this was part of it. Everyone else was mindful of him and gave him and Diane space to dance. Pete in no way should still be in the competition far less make it into the final. Jamie was not set up by a ketchup bottle to be kicked out. Stacy Dooley came down on a stock of rock and won the whole show!!! Sorry you need to stop listening to james Jordans strictly conspiracy theories.

AMAZING. All his qualities. A+. Even Craig, loves his come back. He said i belive it was on this morning or loose woman. Vanessa its not a level playing field while Chris is in the competition he is lovely but its not fair to the others l hope sarah and vito win vannessa should you be talking about strictly listening to you talking about pete wicks is ridiculous you have no clue why dont you ask pete to take you out and shut up about him you sound pathetic talking about him its his dancing competition which you ne er mention because you dont know anything about how these dances should be dances its a dancing competition not not a beauty competition.
He and Vanessa are good friends. She's also made no secret of the fact she fancies him. I doubt if she's his type though, and he's a player who likes open relationships while Vanessa is strictly monogamous so I'm sure she's fully aware of the fact it would spoil their friendship if they tried dating. She won't tolerate anyone playing around, he likes to keep things loose.
Is it a level playing field when some contestants have had extensive dance training and even danced professionally before going on the show whilst others have had none and in Chris's case haven't even seen the dances before and can't see them now?. Sara is a fine dancer and a great contestant but what she's achieving is a very small fraction of what Chris achieves on a weekly basis. If you want to see perfect dancing and the best dancer winning prizes you should watch professional dance competitions and not a Saturday evening light entertainment show.

I can't believe ppl think a TV show with contestants who are actual professional dancers that have worked as such are up against complete beginners, some with disabilities, should STILL be about 'the best dancer' and blame the blind guy for making it an unlevel playing field because people couldn't possibly be voting for him for any other reason than 'sympathy', his blindness should be taken into account when judging him because it is the moral thing to do, it's not special treatment, or an advantage, it's called Equity 🤦♀

It not a level playing field when you got tasha,sarah and jb who are trained dancers,chris has learnt from scratch, so for that alone chris and dianne will continue getting my votes
@@tracyjacob7091 Mine too. He said that every Monday Diane has to start at zero with him, as he has no visual references for any dance. Chris has to understand what the dance is about, how the posture , footwork and frame might differ from what he has already danced, and learn a routine, all in the space of five days. Diane has also been an inspiration, as she finds alternative ways to teach him. My favourite couple this series by far.
Everyone should be able bodied? So we should just tell disabled people that they can't ever take part in dance competitions? What about sports or in the workplace? We make reasonable accommodations for disabled people so they can partake in normal life along with the rest of us, as is their right.

Chris is registered blind, but that does not mean he can't see anything at all. He said he is aware of light and distance.
You are wrong, he addressed this in the videos he does with Dianne, is can see NOTHING, he started losing his sight at age 6 and was completely blind and could no longer even see shadow or light and dark by age 22, so god knows where you've got your info from.
