    When I was about 4 or 5 years old my paternal grandmother would take me picking dandelions for salad. There was a large field across the street from where we lived so we didn’t, travel far. We picked only plants that had buds .If they had flowers they were rejected. When preparing the salad she would add hard boiled eggs ,wine vinegar, and olive oil. It was delicious . I,m 92 now so that was 87 years ago, it it is one of my memory “ gems”.

    Tina, I've got another idea for you to help with the mosquitos.. DRAGONFLIES EAT MOSQUITOES!!! You can actually purchase living Dragonflies, and Nymphs to stock your pond for the future (I could only find Nymphs for sale online but you may be able to find some in your area), look into it. They are also beneficial to gardens too. And, there is a video on attracting dragonflies to your property you may be interested in. 😉

      @@HomeFreeAlaska I forgot to add, on average a single dragonfly eats 100 mosquitoes a day, so if you have a lot of dragonflies.. you get the picture! 😅🎉

    I wouldn’t worry about Joe’s sweet tooth too much. He’s so active and busy with his projects… a treat or two isn’t going to hurt him! But he’s lucky to have you watching out for him!

      Not all diabetics are over. Sugar is really not good for you.😢

    • @dgofftoday
      @dgofftoday 6 месяцев назад +2

      The amount of the sugar in the jelly was shocking for me. You look like healthy people but the amount of fat under different forms and over all home processed food in your diet is a lot for me. Coffee with sugar, cream and more wiped cream on the top is probably around 300 cal or more, make it twice a day and you have 600 cal out of 2000 daily intake. Don’t take it as criticism but just other point of view about eating.

    • @superpsyched5624
      @superpsyched5624 6 месяцев назад +1

      Animal fats, especially if organically fed, are much better than overly processed vegetable oils. There was a lot of sugar in the jelly but they don't put very much on their toast and it has nutritional value. I bought some Smuckers jam recently. There were very few strawberries in it compared to the last time I bought it many years ago. I make my own iced coffees daily and add cream and sugar. Much cheaper to make my own and still less calories than most coffee shops. I have a sweet tooth and my husband rarely eats sweets. More for me I say! Tina goes out of her way to make healthy, organic meals with vegetables and/or fruits. They're young, active, and enjoy their lives.

    Hi Parker, excellent job helping your Mom with the Dandelions and the gummies! Wow, and you really had great luck catching fish!!! Now building a trampoline with your DAD!
    Then the mama Moose showing off her Baby, how great to see! We have a mama white tailed deer in our backyard with her baby Fawn (we believe she had the Fawn in our backyard last Thursday) and she comes daily to our backyard with her fawn. The Fawn loves to run too!

    Tina, Joe, and Mr. P,
    You take beautiful camera footage, and edit your videos beautifully❤ Tina, do you use a special software to edit.
    Mama, and baby moose are very comfortable on your property. I wonder if Mama had her baby on your property. How cool would that be. Good thing you fenced in your garden when you did.
    I'm excited for you on purchasing materials for starting the greenhouse.
    Your pantry is gorgeous!!!! Joe did an amazing job building it. Tina, you did an amazing job helping, and setting it up. Those jars with the spoons on the front are perfect!
    Y'all have a great weekend!

    Your pantry is amazing great job designing it Tina and Joe you did amazing building it. The baby calf moose was awesome to watch I really enjoyed that. Great to see Parker just being a boy it's sad more kids don't get to have that freedom. My seven year old grandson lives the same way he's just being a little boy and he's so amazing and innocent it makes me proud of him. God bless you all

    Tina, thank you SO much for making this channel and sharing your lives. As a homeschooling mama in Fairbanks, I can relate to a lot of it. My husband was stationed at FWW as a Cav Scout, I'm from AZ like Joe, my 9 year old loves watching Parker and so does my 5 year old. We try to stay away from TV (the struggle is real haha) but winter is hard and finding your channel has been a breath of fresh air. It's nearly impossible finding family friendly channels and not worrying about what my kids will see or hear if i need to step out of the room for a minute. We could never afford to homestead, and to be honest, dont have the many skills needed to keep up with one but I feel like I get a small glimpse of experiencing homestead life thanks to you and your family. ❤
