Such a great melody, I'd love to hear Stevie's wild heart backstage vocals mixed with this instrumental. I mean I know she sings over it in the backstage video, but to hear those vocals isolated and mixed with this instrumental would sound very clean and amazing

My question is, who actually came up with this melody? Is it Lindsey's demo and stevie decided to sing "Wild Heart" over it? Or did Lindsey steal Stevie's melody and make it into his own song?
His instrumental is on the Mirage deluxe release, so.. Hard to say. Mirror Mirror uses a Tangerine Dream track as its base. So who knows? Might have been the cause of dissension back then, i imagine.
Buckingham wrote the original tune that's used in the backstage video. One guess would be that Stevie wrote the words over top of the existing tune just as a way of working out the lyric and the meter... maybe intending to change the tune eventually anyway? It's a technique others have used. The studio version is credited only to her as the writer.

Well it's in the deluxe version of Mirage now called Sumas Walk or something like that, but this video was released before 2017.
