A Google User People are quite good. People are like seed, they grow. And will grow. How they grow is a different case. People can shitty but do you ever wonder why. People can say they are introvert. But interaction and social is important. You can change your brain. Connection = more likely success in life, especially in this interconnected world.. So yeah, talk to people. It is not a bad experience.
DADp 😂😂😂 this is true ! I’m a entrepreneur and had a bad down fall ( someone committed fraud on me and emptied my bank account ) I had to find a job quick , and don’t really wanna deal with people either lol I only plan to work this job for a month though until I can get back going with my business
I work for Amazon. I mostly pack. I have a very small ipod that I listen to every day. Take an old pair of ear buds and cut one of them off. Then string it up under your shirt to your ear. Having longer hair helps cover the wire. We go thru a metal detector at the end of shift. I bought one of those Coke cans that you can unscrew the top and I just put the ipod in there when I leave. I put the Coke can in my lunch box and security just thinks its a regular Coke.
I wouldn't wear both airpods because if someone starts talking to you you might have to take one out to be able to carry on a conversation. Definitely get one of those fake soda cans so you can get it out past the metal detectors and security. I ordered mine from Amazon.
Dude, I’m like 99% sure any headphones are an OSHA violation. If you get busted you’ll be fired and the company could be fined. If you got hurt they might try to claim you were at fault for being distracted and avoid an insurance claim. It would be a huge mess. Not worth the risk. The reason for banning headphones is 100% safety related. It isn’t to be a dick. There are huge forklifts and other machines bouncing all over that floor and you wouldn’t hear one, nor would they hear you, if headphones were allowed.
The reason it took you so long to get a start date is because they had to wait until their current employee's burned out, got fired or quit. Amazon had you at their calling and waiting list to ensure they can fill positions.
They are always hiring and as soon as one group either gets wounded or runs for their life or doesn't make numbers they have the next group lined up. Just warm bodies.
GamingTaylor I quit last month, I started in June. I liked the first building I was in, then we went to a bigger building, it got kinda boring. I did everything & I think we should’ve been getting paid more for that. In the first building I had to do stowing then routes 10:45pm- 6am have a 15 min break then for lunch clock out to have a 40 min break. In the new building it was only a 15 min break. It gets a lil tiring & boring for sure, they did mess up some of my paychecks. Also yes there are lots of lazy ass people that kiss the ambassadors asses ( the ones in the blue vest ) The things you are talking about are called jiffy, that you have to scan one by one 🤮 The only cool thing is that you don’t have to talk, the only reason I applied. I struggle with anxiety & im anti-social. OH & my supervisor was a douche soo
Christopher Medina It’s alright so far. People seem pretty nice, work is somewhat easy to do. Wish the benefits would be better for a multi-billionaire company, that doesn’t have to pay taxes
The only thing “bad” about Amazon is the wear and tear on your body. The pay, benefits, health insurance are some of the best around. If I were in my 20/30s it would be the best work out. Now it just beats me up and I’m manager even.
Personally I'v done both for several years, I can say they When I was working at the call center I was wishing I was in a warehouse doing physical labor after and not have to deal with dumbass customers. Then after working in the warehouse for 2 years I was like sitting down in front of a computer getting yelled at didn't seem so bad. In conclusion they both have their draw backs. But If there is anything I dreaded more it was working at the call center. So Yes I'd say in the end it is slightly better than being a CSR but not by much.
The funny thing is they say listening to music is a safety hazard because you can't hear but they hire deaf and hearing impaired people which by their own admission would be unsafe for the hearing impaired
Right and I wear ear plugs every night. Why are earplugs ok but not music? My only guess is that Amazon doesn't want people fooling around with their music selection when they could be working.
@@kryssulich5016 At my facility they don't mind that we have earphones in as long as it doesn't get snagged onto something, that's why I put mine in my shirt. And they also said we can pull our phone out only if our sections is done and it's temporarily going slow and we're waiting. So that's yhe only time people should pull their phones out. They were lenient with people who were face timing WHILE AT WORK O.o but those people won't do it again because then they'll get written up. But yea I see what you mean by that, but they shut that down real quick and don't mind us being on our phones when we're done our sections and waiting temporarily.
Worked there I think a 5th time, i even tried 3 different facilities. Only one was good. Amazon is a terrible place to work. The benefits are great but they treat employees like robots.
Well if your job isn't collaborative, then yeah you won't. But most higher paid jobs have you socialize. I had company dinners and it was part of the job itself and also a company outing. Of course amazon doesn't because it's a labor job and they just need someone to be the robot until they will be replaced with an actual robot later on. Robots don't talk, they only work. But socializing is part of being human, and working at Amazon is basically dehumanizing yourself to earn a paycheck. That's why I quit.
I’ve worked 15 hours in a warehouse. 6 days. I mean yea I was tired, but nice paycheck. But now I’m going for amazon orientation for part time and going to school full time. I’m pretty cool with working my ass off.
writerconsidered Very true. Anyone's feet will swell and the constant pressure will hurt you for long after your shift is over. Moving is better, the lesser of two evils. Standing for long periods is a brutal form of of labor, with lasting consequences.
I worked for Amazon for over 10 years. I worked as a temp for X-mas peak only for about 7 years for extra cash. It didn't take 7 years to be offered full-time, I just had a better job and didn't want full-time and worked only seasonal for extra cash. Another reason I only worked seasonal (X-mas), is like he said, it is soul crushing and physically exhausting during "peak" (x-mas). During peak, 60 to 72 hours weeks are normal. I could only take it for a couple of months. But, it used to be a better place to work in the early days. They just don't give a shit about their employees anymore. He is right, stow (or stocking items) is easy (one of my many jobs there). But other positions are much harder than stow. BTW, you don't get to pick, it is luck of the draw to get something easy like stow or gift-rap (depends where they need people). Picking can be hard. Especially when it is slow. When it is slow? That doesn't make sense. Yeah, I said when it is slow. That is when you have to walk for miles all over the warehouse. When it is slower, the orders are more random all over the building. Stow you stay pretty much in one isle like he said. No matter how busy it is. Stowing is not dependent on incoming orders. You may work 10 to 12 hours, 6 days a week, during peak. This all brings back bad memories....lol.
Not true. In fact if you have any knowledge about Amazon's warehouses they actually staff more humans in the facilities that have robotics. Automation is only used to have better efficiency. So when they have automation they keep the same employees and just expand the volume at a given facility. Of course they're constantly growing so that doesn't stop the fact that they have to continuously expand as they become more automated. They also have plans to knock out more competition and this requires to constantly have a customer base. They're not stupid. Walmart's employees covers a decent portion of it's customer base. Amazon requires the same mentality if not an even stronger one in order to survive and surpass Walmart. Therefore they will continue to employ massive staff of humans as they continue to grow.
Milano Martin when I was working at Amazon last year, there was a period where I was actually sent home with a few others as there was very little work because they were testing a fully automated FC. They apparently sent too much work there and for the next few days... Barely any work came to us. But yea from there on out it they said that the robot FC was only booted up as a support thing. They want people to work at their FCs as a Publicity thing.
Ha amazon. Joke of a job. I use to work at H.T Hackney a trucking company and 10hrs would've been music to my ears back then. I was 19yrs old fresh out of high school working 13-15hr shifts only to get up and do it the very next day. We would start at 2:30pm and working until 2-4am in the morning or until the job was done. You had to meet a certain pick rate, you got 3 breaks, 1 being a 30min lunch. You never got to see daylight. You were either at work or in bed sleeping because every muscle in your body was sore. I started smoking to relieve my depression because I never got to see my friends or have a social life except on the weekends. I witnessed temps coming in for 4 hours and literally walking out the door. Take in mind, these were TEMPS. TEMPS had to work, they had no choice. These people would literally walk out the door and fucking leave by lunch. I worked in two departments, the first was just "the warehouse" and it was a big ass warehouse with no temperature control, so in the summer it'd get to about 85-87 degrees of pure humid heat, the winter would get down to whatever temp it was outside. I then moved to the freezer and it was a huge warehouse with just huge fucking fans and A/C units that got down to -15 degrees. They issued us freezer jump suits to prevent frostbite and gave us an extra $1 for hazard pay. There were nights where the floors would ice over because of the humidity coming in from the loading docks which rendered our electric pallet jacks useless. Sometimes the batteries would die or short out because the motors would thaw out and short out the power. If you can imagine hell freezing over, that was that place. You were completely isolated in a sub zero, concrete and metal jungle with dim lights and no escape for 13 hours. I stayed there for 2 years killing myself because nothing in my area payed as well as this did and I was greedy. I had the money, but didn't have a life. Never work a warehouse job like that. Amazon, trucking company, coca cola, pepsi, r&l, anything. All trucking or fulfillment companies borderline abuse workers.
Dude its Scan item, place in bin THEN scan the bin, never scan the bin before puttin the item in just incase it doesn't fit. Someone didn't listen during training.
Ah yeah I started in a completely empty warehouse meant for overflow, so basically there were hundreds of empty shelves, and they would keep opening more as previous ones got filled up. During my time there, I saw few if any actual "pickers" so shelves got filled to capacity quickly. (I believe Amazon rented the facility just for peak season)
I work for a competitor, but the situation sounds similar - my company however does play music over the overhead speakers and allows employees to use 1 earbud in their ear for music...which is a good thing
Ba By At my FedEx facility it's the same. One ear bud is allowed. It definitely varies depending on management though. My old boss didn't allow headphones but the new one doesn't mind.
I may be wrong but, apparently having music played in the production floor is not allowed per "Amazon Safety Standard", despite that though my local FC's inbound and outbound department leaders occasionally blast their spotify playlist through their computer loudspeaker at random days and times aimed towards workers and may last anywhere between minutes to hours. Workers tend to generally enjoy it and asks on the voice of associates board for music to be put on more often, nothing is seemingly ever done about that specific feedback though.
amazon treats its workers horribly. its one of the worst companies to work for, but whatever pays the bills i guess. hated working there last christmas
have you ever worked for amazon? they treat their workers awfully. did you even watch the video? thats literally the first thing he says idiot. he also says the facility is garbage, its dark and boring asf and hes working alone and no bathrooms. its 10 hours with only a 30 minute unpaid lunch. please watch the video before calling me a liar you dumb weeb.
I would work at a sort center its a lot better and shifts are a lot shorter with way more flexible hours. It is a really easy job for me but thats my center though our boss is awesome.
Y’all got to understand each facility is different and older. In my case in brookshire it’s a new facility. 18 an hr can’t complain there as a college student.
I currently work there. It's not that bad. I've been there for 2yrs. Im single, no kids. Bought a house and new car on the salary. If you're good at making the most out of your pay you're good. I've had alot of warehouse jobs.... amazon by far is the least amount of work I've done for moderate pay. We just got our base pay raised to $15 an hr. Not bad!
@steve b I already recieved my stock. Anybody that has been there and recieved rsu's are guaranteed their shares once they vest. We just won't get anymore. The new people won't get any. It works out for everybody. The people that work there barely make it 2yrs until the stock vests.... so it works out for them starting at 2 whole dollars more. Me I've been there 2yrs. We're making 15.80.... I got my 3 shares of stock last month and get the other two in may along with our almost 2 dollar raise. Only thing we really lost was our monthly bonus. Only guarantee you get that is perfect attendance which is hard to do and few rarely achieve it... I came out on top
@@brandobee2264 I'm not sure. They honestly lost our tests the first time so they say. They had us come in and retest. Supposedly the tests come back in 3days or so....
Holy shit, this sounds like my dream job!!!! Easy, alone, quiet, 30min lunch, free water bottle with free water, don’t have to deal with other people’s shit or the normal workplace drama, stand in one spot for 10 hours, kinda do your own thing and you’re telling me you still get paid?!?! Freaking sign me up!!! I’ll even go buy my own $5.00 knee pads. Could have saved 30k going to school. Just gotta find that sugarmomma now;)
Thats Creep nah don’t my brother worked there for two years. He regrets leaving. He says finding another factor job like Amazon is hard. And he was never miss treated he was always sending me snaps from him job
@SUGAR TO SHIT Just got hired on super excited. Thank God I'm getting in there after they worked out all the issues he mentioned in this video! Go to a hiring event and I'm sure you'll do fine. A lot of Americans just like to whine.
nzee770 Prison sounds nice when you’re comparing it to working for Amazon. It’s more like an enslavement camp. I don’t understand how they get away putting workers through this outside of China. There should be strikes going on all over
A company started in a garage an now it's owner is going to space an his employees can afford to live in a garage. Keeping America great . Thanks Jeff.....
i worked as a packer at amazon. basically i scanned an item, it showed up on the computer what box you needed and then i would package it, print a label scan it again and throw it back on the line. it was awful.
I think a lot of people misunderstand how mind numblingly boring and repetitive the work is. From the outside its like "wow thats so easy I can do that!" but when you do it for 10 hours a day its maddening.
@@GamingTaylor agreed , i worked 6am-4pm mon-thursday and i lived 40 minutes away. So i had to leave my house everyday at around 5am to adjust for morning rush hour. Meaning i had to get up at 4am if i wanted time to shower and eat breakfast.
They don't want you to bring your phone into the facility because they don't want you catching them doing bad things like the work environment. Having your phone on you has nothing to do with stealing.
My facility doesn't want phones on the floor because it's a safety hazard. There are trucks and cars constantly moving in and out of the building and people power walking all over the place- you don't have time to text your friends, and it's also a good way to get hit by a passing car or miss something headed straight for you.
No, they don't want employees to have a phone on them because nobody can fucking leave their phone alone for 2 minutes. Even in traffic, when driving I see people set their phone down and within 30 seconds they have to check their texts and if they had their phone on them while working it's guaranteed it would cause problems.
GoTG F that, the one I work at has 1 clock no windows and the clocks all the way on the other side of the building, I need to know what time it is ! They over work us by 2 hours without telling us ! After that I started bringing my phone in
I work at Amazon warehouse. I admit that $15 an hour for part-time work is really good. But it's immensely stressful. You're on your feet for pretty much the entire shift. The only ones who are allowed to sit are the managers. You get two 15-minute breaks, and a single 30-minute break. But the problem is, the break room and restrooms are on the other side of the warehouse from where you work, so you use a little bit of rest time just going back and forth. I definitely wouldn't do this job full time. The pay is not worth the physical exhaustion.
Im an associate at a FC and no cell phones, no music, short breaks, you can charge your phone before or after work but not during work. On your feet all day.
I've been working at Amazon for about 8 months now. I'm doing nights at the new fulfilment centre in tilbury, UK. It's not bad for £10.31 an hour but it is draining. A jobs a job at the end of the day and I'll take their money lol
HunterJustGaming I wouldn't know for sure as I'm employed directly by Amazon but the 2 agencies that recruit for Amazon in my fc are PMP and Adecco and they both pay the going rate according to some of my mates who work there. Must be a different Fulfilment centre in the UK.
I mean that's expected sometimes. They likely quickly leased an available building that just happened to not have a restroom. Typically you would have to go through an approval process to get restrooms and plumbing installed in those buildings, which can take time. I'd imagine it probably actually gets quite expensive to rent portable restrooms.
Ya. I worked at a Fulfillment Center for 2 years, summer 2015 thru spring 2017. It was HELL. There were good days, here and there, but it sucked balls. No Amazon prime discount, no optical or health insurance until after 13 months of employment, no goals or aspirations or incentives, ANYBODY COULD WORK THERE: large hiring groups, orientation, annoying "safety" LECTURING, ZERO physical training, Managers being ages 18-25 and only being managers bc they have a masters degree in business, but don't care for lifting a box themselves, Micromanaging "what are you doing" /excessive hovering and helicoptering, scolding and criticizing, Do This, Don't do This, Don't Do That, No That's Not Allowed. "15min break" is really 12 minutes to Pee and Drink Water and Socialize, constant daily "assignments, very little consistency to repetitive work areas, too few bathrooms for 220 employees per shift, not allowed to stand around, if you don't have a box in your hand you get yelled at, too few boxes for too many employees, they would hire high school aged teenagers 15yrs old - 19yrs old to work in a warehouse with people in their 20s/30s/40s, there would be senior citizens in their 70s/80s also working there. No high school diploma necessary, no English necessary either, lots of illiterate immigrants and fresh-off-the-boat Islamic North Africans and Phillipinos would come in not speaking a word of English but get hired anyway, they couldn't read in English either, so a lot of sorting boxes required the ability to Read In English. Little to no training, had to learn from New Friends, not managers. High school social atmosphere x5000. Too much slave labor. Lots of robotic sorting machines were being installed in Spring of 2017, and I was already witnessing and being a victim of Not Enough Work/Too Many People, lots of verbal and emotional abuse form managers, just a lot of gossip and bullshit and Favoritism and Hurtful People. It wasn't emotionally or safe for me anymore. I left.
I'm glad you got out of there :) Lately i've been working at a pizza delivery place making more than what I made at Amazon without any physical or mental exhaustion. So happy i left, and everyone I knew at Amazon left shortly after I did and found better jobs. Amazon is a great place to teach people what a "bad job" is, so you can appreciate the good ones.
Holy crap! Tell me, did you interact with the A-Z customer service? I always got the impression the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
Amazon employees need to get together an unionize. I know amazon tries their best to stop it but seriously the pay and benefits you would get from unionizing in a company like amazon would be at least competitive to similar jobs with living wages. Up here in Canada Walmart pays their employees decently in the warehousing portion with solid benefits because they don’t want a union.
My hiring event is tomorrow I've worked as a fast food manager for a few years... I'd like to think I can handle this. It's gotta beat dealing with angry drunk people on closing shifts
Coming from a customer service job to Amazon, it's just less intense in dealing with people. It's a relief not having to deal with angry and aggressive customers.
Do you still work at Amazon? I start Wednesday 4 10 hour days then 3 days off. I am a food manager as well looking forward to not having to deal with people anymore. I am pretty introverted.
You wouldn’t hear forklift trucks or other vehicles blowing their horns at you if you were listening to music. It’s a huge safety concern. One slight work around is that most warehouses do allow radios by a computer station or on the truck itself. However, headphones are most definitely a no go. Never going to happen. They are watching you... it’s all on reports. They can easily tell if your numbers don’t line up. They knows exactly who touched what and when. I don’t know about Amazon, but some employers incentivize you by publishing these reports as if they are leader boards, showing who is the fastest. If you want to impress people mirror the problem solving team you mentioned. They are most likely the ones who will move up the ranks.
Gee - I feel guilty for shopping with them now after learning how badly fulfillment employees are treated. I'm sure you would all like to see Jeff Bezos work your job for a year as his own punishment!
I work there and i must say its great. I have contracted hours, I dont have to talk to anyone and i get paid weekly. They blast high energy music and everyone is chill. My job is packing. Once you're in the flow you turn into a robot and it goes so quickly. I really don't understand these horror stories. Maybe im just lucky
Always wear knee guards in warehouse work. They should be supplying them, but if they don't, get your own. I wore my own, but where I worked, they did provide some crappy ones. Being young, people think it's no big deal now, but good Lord...you feel it when you're older.
David Bushinski, this your your parole officer. I just wanted to quickly give you a notice that you have violated your parole. I shall be stopping by later this evening to confiscate your computer and sending you back to prison. Sorry buddy!
There are various different types of Amazon warehouses. They have sortable, non-sortable, Prime, Fresh, Sortation, Delivery Station, and recently they've started a thing called Vendor Flex where they have Amazon employees working in a vendor's warehouse. I'm sure there is more that I have not mentioned as well, but that's the gist of the various different types they have.
I thought the same thing I worked at ups for 3 months basically the same thing and was super bored all the time now I’m working part time at Best Buy and prefer the annoying costumers over being bored
I’ve been working for 5 days have to get to the warehouse at 5am and have only spoken to 2 other associates lol. Well off to bed gotta get up in 4 hours
Omg I work fulfillment for Target and the conditions are practically heaven in comparison to your story! Granted, I am in a store and not a warehouse. I do picking/packing and typically get a good 8-12 miles of walking in during an 8 hour shift. We can listen to music with earbuds in the back and even on the floor if you’re sneaky and don’t get a complaint. Plus I get paid $15/hr, though I know that’s standard for Amazon workers now too. I always talk to my coworkers on the job and am only alone doing stuff for maybe half my shift, not 10 hours of being alone with no music. Godspeed to anyone who is working in a fulfillment center like Amazon, I know I’m a lot more thankful for my job after watching this
I currently work at amazon FTW6 , 12 hour shifts 3 days a week. They work you to death and only care about numbers. When I applied they told everyone there’s only one mandatory day of overtime. But right now it’s peak season and they’re making Pickers work 4 weeks 5 days 12 hour shifts. ICQA 3 weeks , and Stow 3 weeks The easiest jobs at the big facilities are Pack and icqa. In stow and pick there’s more room for errors and more errors means you get fired.
Oh no standing on your feet ten hours a day and expected to have a certain consistency. How lazy people have become. Sounds like a pretty good job to me.👍🏻
Standing on your feet for ten hours isn't bad, its the mindless repetition for 10 hours with no difference day after day. For people who are unfamiliar with factory style labor, its hard to comprehend.
It's not really hard at all.. I'm a picker. And I'm actually pretty good at it now. I actually take pride in my work. I think a lot of people just can't handle actual work.
@@GamingTaylor lmfao Amazon is heaven compared to jobs like FedEx work at a job like FedEx as a package handler and you'll see how Amazon is 1000x better compared to that hell even for a fit guy like me Amazon is a piece of cake I get payed to walk practically
Lohst people are really lazy, in college I worked at enterprise which is car rental I had to climb in and around the cars cleaning them in a hot ass garage during the summer from 8am-6pm. At least I could wear headphones I would listen to podcasts to keep me sane
I Hope that Amaxon get problem here in Denmark befor there started here🙏👍👌✊ the union in Denmark are already in fight with that bad concern😎 - I Hope that Amazon never inter DK.
I was hired about 2 years ago as a Night Seasonal Stower (a bit slow moving of nights, 10 hours felt more like 12+)... Pretty much the same first week as you; however, while I was working there, I also worked part-time at Titan Aviation, which is the "Amazon Prime Airlines (Prime Air)" and "Prime Air Drone" Contractor, but not directly working for Amazon; then I got converted to a permanent (Blue) badge and transferred into ICQA (the people who count items) for about a month before I transferred over to Pick, since 10 hour ICQA nights felt like 15 hours (unless I was doing Damages), then went to Pick (by far the best entry level position if you like your night shifts feeling like they're going by faster ('sometimes') and after about 10 months of Picking nights, I became this facilities IT Human Resource Rep because of my Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and CompTIA + Linux Certification, and finally quit the Part-Time "Prime Air" job because I wasn't getting enough sleep between both jobs (I was like a zombie most days and working 7 days a week 60+ Hours during Peak with little sleep). I started off making about $12.25 per hour Seasonal with no bonus' (VCPs) until the (Blue) conversion, then I submitted my Degree and it went up to about $17 per hour for the same job (also $17 per hour was my starting pay with "Prime Air"), and by the time I reached I.T., I was making around $38 per hour; however, the normal IT people only made around $20 per hour, but I haven't seen anyone else with a degree or even a High School Diploma in that position yet, plus I think they might be idiots. I think they convert them just because their friends of people they know higher up. I wouldn't recommend working there unless you just desperately need a job (because money is necessary to keep your life rolling), you'll most likely stay stuck in the same category, and even if they ask you to train for another position, it's still the same pay and same quality of position because it's never a promotion until you reach a new Level (eg. Level 2, Associate 2) on your title. Well, good luck to you, if you don't get that, you're making the same pay and it's not a Promotion. It's possible, but if your young enough to go back to school, please take this job to help you get help on the finances of school, through your own employed budget. Good Luck. This company is evil, so if you can, please take your classes that Amazon will pay far as far as not doing anything they're trying to make do in their own classes that they mostly fund. Otherwise, just skip it! If you're a kid still who still has time to go to college, you can do better than this. Please kids, do something that's worth your effort. I want ALL you young people to do better than what Amazon offers by getting a REAL Job that pays real money... I don't recommend making any less than $30 per hour if you have a Bachelors Degree. Otherwise, just take what they offer only for the purpose of paying off your real school debts, sorry... but this is good if you just have to do it or need financial help for the purpose of living.
i feel like i’d shoot myself if i worked at amazon, i work in a warehouse but i actually like it. we get to listen to music but we just have to have our earphones under our shirt and it’s so easy, it’s basically free money and 40 hours a week 12.50+ and optional overtime on saturdays, i work first shift from 8am till 4:30 pm with 3 breaks every 2 hours and after work i have the rest of the day 🤩 it’s great
Yeah imagine not having music or a phone, and not being able to talk to anyone for the majority of the shift. The repetition was just awful. It was one of those "NEVER AGAIN" experiences for me. I currently work part time as a pizza delivery driver making on average $18-20 an hour and hardly have to do anything. It's entertaining, get to listen to music, sitting down half the time. I am so glad I didn't stick with Amazon.
It's stable if you can consistently hit the rates they want you to hit. Otherwise they will slowly push you out, or try to get you to leave voluntarily. The big problem is that you don't feel a sense of respect or importance because someone can easily replace you at any time.
amazon hires new people everyday at its facts. they only care for their stuff going out. job security is a big thing for amazon. they can careless about you
Erect It’s bs, they can flex you up or down ( which means they don’t wanna pay you , they’ll tell everyone to go home early and they do this every other day
You will eventually get so damn tired of doing he same thing over and over again. There’s favoritism in order to move up and it’s tiring as well. I’m a picker and I Hate it and looking for a new job currently.
ricky bobby fr. I work at the “beast”, the biggest and busiest fc in the wold and its pretty chill. Ofc you have to work but managers are cool, work is not like unbearable, and pay is decent. Ppl who say its the worst job havent worked in construction, because in construction you have to pour concrete in 100 degree weather. Unlike in amazon at least you are indoors with ac so.
Promise • I worked in a recycling plant before Amazon. I had to separate garbage from recyclables through a conveyor for 8+ hours. We would get no lunch or break depending on the mood of the manager. I quit that job after 3 DAYS. I can assure you, amazon is 10X better.
WOrked as a sorter. The hardest job I had ever worked. Only worked 6.5 hours but was hardly able to drive home without stopping to sleep. Slept all of my days off. Hungry as a bear at the end of the shift. You are literally "dead tired". Stayed 2 years, but the turn over rate is very high. Good luck.
I got hired as a sortation associate here in Austin Texas..... and I’m so conflicted now. My hours are basically 1am to Noon. I’m dreading going now 😫😫
The overfill warehouses are just rented properties they throw some stuff inside. It would probably be some sort of a lease violation to throw in pipes and toilets
I imagine it's more along the lines of them needing to get government approval, which can take time sometimes. I know I worked in a sort center and they had 1 restroom(male/female split) and from the start they mentioned potentially getting an additional one, but it was pending government approval. We ended up getting an additional restroom and smaller break area about 6 months later. Now I work in a regular FC and we have like 8 restrooms that I know of and like 3 break rooms(Main, Temp, and on the mezzanine).
Good company staff is good, pays over minimum wage but should pay a dollar more. It is very very physically demanding. Your body can't do it for more than 6 months. 10 he shifts going so fast picking from boxes as be says. Dune bins are very low do every time you have to bend it's strain on your knees. You pick 350 boxes per hour minimum, it's very fast pace work. But the company is good.
Looking at you, you seem like someone who would rather just stay indoors and play video games all day. So for you, yes it is hell. But it is no way near as bad as warehouse jobs in other developing countries. Amazon warehouse is a typical American warehouse job for easy money.
i have worked at amazon for 4 years now and it is not all that bad if you do your job and keep your head down and the school than they will work with you to change your times you start work and days if need be i work 40 hours and go to school 3 times a week you just got to make time
Boycott Amazon by not buying or selling thru them. Quit your prime membership. The horrid ways they treat their people should not be allowed. But we vote against the Co with our dollars going elsewhere.
Sounds like many sci-fi movies over the years, but you are basically expendable labor, a “drone”worker ant. You are probably cheaper than a robotic warehousing system
i currently work for amazon here in canada! idk wut facility yall been at but mine was like brand new, robots everywhere. super clean, and it was a fun job experience. i applied with a friend and we were placed close to each other were we could chat the whole time we worked. it was fun and chill. managers were nice. idk if this is just a canadian amazon thing. but ya. still working there, night shifts and enjoying it a lot. obviously it general labour and is tough the frist few weeks, but i stuck through the first few weeks and my body adjusted and now its chill.
Amazon is not for the lazy. Walking is a big part of the job which can be a good thing. You can get fit working there. There are a lot of perks to working there. Any job is what you make it.
What I was doing required little to no walking, mostly standing, bending down, squatting, or kneeeling on concrete (i'm sure a lot of people will get fucked up knees from this). For me it was more of the mental exhaustion of extreme repetition.
I've done 10hr shifts before but we had a full hour lunch. 30min doesnt seem legal but I'm sure they did their homework on it. I do miss having 3 days off though.
Technically it's an hour because you get 30 minutes unpaid and 2 15 minutes paid. People will say the breaks are not their full length because of the time it takes to get to and from your work station and the fact that you have to be at your station RIGHT at the final minute. However I don't see how it's THAT big of a deal. Personally I don't even like sitting for long when I take a break because it puts me in a rest mode and I come back too relaxed. I've heard they also have 12 hour shifts as well and an additional 15 minute paid break is added as well.
For me it's the little things like taking part of your break from you that I don't like. I don't think anyone should put up even the small things, or they start to allow bigger problems and abuses because it starts to become normal if you get what I mean.
I used to be a security contractor for an Amazon fulfillment center, and I have to say I've never been more disgusted in a client than I have been with Amazon. The center I worked at treated their workers like total shit, and expected us to treat them as such as well. We had to patrol the facilities and watch employees like hawks to make sure people didn't have phones, ect. Needless to say I didn't stay there long. I feel really bad for anyone who works there.
Currently working at walmart as a stocker (in pharmacy) I was thinking about applying to Amazon, but since you said y'all only have a 30 min lunch I'm like GIRL BYE 👋 At walmart we get 1hr lunch, and whenever we're done stocking our stuff, we can either go help someone or ZONE. zone means get the stuff that don't belong to your department and take them to costumer service
Yeah when I was working I was getting $12.50 an hour (working the night shift), i think they've raised the pay to $15+ since then. I still wouldn't recommend the job as it really wears you down after a short time. Perhaps if Amazon pays $5-10 more than your current job it would be worth it, but besides that keep what you have, try to move up, or find somewhere else.
A job where I don't have to talk to people sounds nice.
that's the only reason why I chose that job lol
I have a lot of social anxiety in person, but trust me no interaction with others in a dreadfully boring repetitive position is not nice. xD

Do u get off on time?
I work for Amazon. I mostly pack. I have a very small ipod that I listen to every day. Take an old pair of ear buds and cut one of them off. Then string it up under your shirt to your ear. Having longer hair helps cover the wire. We go thru a metal detector at the end of shift. I bought one of those Coke cans that you can unscrew the top and I just put the ipod in there when I leave. I put the Coke can in my lunch box and security just thinks its a regular Coke.
Would an Apple Watch with Airpods be good? My first day is next week
I wouldn't wear both airpods because if someone starts talking to you you might have to take one out to be able to carry on a conversation. Definitely get one of those fake soda cans so you can get it out past the metal detectors and security. I ordered mine from Amazon.
Yep, I got an Ipod shuffle from Amazon. Very small and I just clip in on a belt loop. It really helps me stay sane during those 10 hour shifts.
Lmfao what the fuck. This sounds like prison
Yeah, they should give Amazon Prime to employees. Comcast gives employees free TV and Internet.
Time to work for Comcast.
Calvin ya, let’s all work for Comcast for a TV and Free wi. Totally worth it
I agree
Not completely free but might as well be. As an employee, would recommend.
my friend does and makes 50k+ and gets the fastest internet
The reason it took you so long to get a start date is because they had to wait until their current employee's burned out, got fired or quit. Amazon had you at their calling and waiting list to ensure they can fill positions.
Yeah, it speaks volumes when they have NO interview process. I guess it is good in case you want a job and not to be homeless.
J. Carson how’s it been?
@@roxcyn Sears is the exact same way.

nessie lewis are you working there now?
Rene Renee yes
I'm anti-social as well, but being anti-social doesn't mean you will enjoy doing mindless repetitive work in a warehouse while being monitored.
So now you've been there a while could you tell me how you found it please ?

Rafael Gonzalez how is it so far? Would you say it’s good or bad?
Christopher Medina It’s alright so far. People seem pretty nice, work is somewhat easy to do. Wish the benefits would be better for a multi-billionaire company, that doesn’t have to pay taxes
Rafael Gonzalez so it’s really not as bad as people say?
@@heroin__her0in All depends on the managers. Luckily mine are pretty nice and help alot
The only thing “bad” about Amazon is the wear and tear on your body. The pay, benefits, health insurance are some of the best around. If I were in my 20/30s it would be the best work out. Now it just beats me up and I’m manager even.
That's way better than working in a call center and getting yelled at all day by customers.
So Yes I'd say in the end it is slightly better than being a CSR but not by much.
steve b Yes it IS
You get yelled at by ur supervisors
And if u get sick ur screwed
10 hours standing takes a toll in your body! so fucking tiring standing all day!
Yup. I am in the process of switching from a call center to Amazon. Start Wednesday. Bye bye phones
It's more of a productivity problem people will change songs every 10-20 seconds for 10hr shift

Worked there I think a 5th time, i even tried 3 different facilities. Only one was good. Amazon is a terrible place to work. The benefits are great but they treat employees like robots.
Indy so true. glad i got the hell out.
Half of their employees are pretty much robots though? Since most of the process is automated.
Hey how much do they max out there they are making a new Amazon warehouse in Bakersfield ca was wondering
@shiestjoo no, sociability in a job increases productivity and longevity in staying with a company.

Well your not sitting while working so when they train you, why would you sit? You still have your breaks and lunch so idk people are bitches about.
The military doesn't work that hard. You get a hell of a lot more benefits as well.
Not true standing in one place for 5 hours on concrete is a lot harder than moving.
writerconsidered Very true.
Are you still working seasonal jobs to get extra cash?
I'd rather clean inside the sarcophagus at Chernobyl naked than work for Amazon
Not long until those jobs are completely robotized
The employees are the Robots
Milano Martin when I was working at Amazon last year, there was a period where I was actually sent home with a few others as there was very little work because they were testing a fully automated FC.
They apparently sent too much work there and for the next few days... Barely any work came to us.
But yea from there on out it they said that the robot FC was only booted up as a support thing. They want people to work at their FCs as a Publicity thing.
@@Th3Broth3r Right. You're totally replaceable as an employee.
Some? Yes most? No. A lot of warehouse jobs require people to do.
Amazon sucks
I never had a space issue, but you are right. I hope you great success in your stowing future :)
GamingTaylor lol fair point then, our bins are jam packed and space is a major issue.

What is the company you work for?
Ba By At my FedEx facility it's the same. One ear bud is allowed. It definitely varies depending on management though. My old boss didn't allow headphones but the new one doesn't mind.
Lemme guess you work for Walmart
I may be wrong but, apparently having music played in the production floor is not allowed per "Amazon Safety Standard", despite that though my local FC's inbound and outbound department leaders occasionally blast their spotify playlist through their computer loudspeaker at random days and times aimed towards workers and may last anywhere between minutes to hours. Workers tend to generally enjoy it and asks on the voice of associates board for music to be put on more often, nothing is seemingly ever done about that specific feedback though.
You have sold your soul to the "nice company" that plays music. Go to school and improve yourself

Interesting video
Im an associate at a FC and no cell phones, no music, short breaks, you can charge your phone before or after work but not during work. On your feet all day.

I've been working at Amazon for about 8 months now. I'm doing nights at the new fulfilment centre in tilbury, UK. It's not bad for £10.31 an hour but it is draining. A jobs a job at the end of the day and I'll take their money lol
Do you have any idea how some agencies are stating £8? do Amazon pay the same as the agencies, or are agencies taking some off the top?
HunterJustGaming I wouldn't know for sure as I'm employed directly by Amazon but the 2 agencies that recruit for Amazon in my fc are PMP and Adecco and they both pay the going rate according to some of my mates who work there. Must be a different Fulfilment centre in the UK.
Plus people on days start off on £8.20 so it might be day rate.
Ok cheers. Any tips for new starters or things to watch out for?
HunterJustGaming it's hard to say really. I suppose it depends what job you're doing there. What FC are you joining?
The cheep bathroom part had me dying xD because Amazon makes tons of money to be having that kind of bathroom 😂
It was temporary while building was being finished. Bathrooms were being built.
This!
Listen to this lad. Anyone that hates Amazon has been there for a few years at least.
Holy crap! Tell me, did you interact with the A-Z customer service? I always got the impression the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
Which one did you work at? I currently work there
Amazon employees need to get together an unionize.
You look like a nice easy going guy 👦
Gee - I feel guilty for shopping with them now after learning how badly fulfillment employees are treated. I'm sure you would all like to see Jeff Bezos work your job for a year as his own punishment!
Ive been working at amazon for 3 years and its legit the easiest/ most boring job i every had lol its great
What position ?
i been there 2 months i find it pretty easy the poeple i work with are good i make 12.50 n hour so over all its not as bad as people said it was .
trever pitts what did other people make I'm looking to work here
trever pitts how come you getting 12.50 an hour. How long you been there.
Tf I make 13.50
I make $12
Next month will make 2 years for me and I love it there. The pay isn't great but we have fun and the company has been awesome to me.
You just explained my life! Fellow over night packer from CT
Always wear knee guards in warehouse work. They should be supplying them, but if they don't, get your own. I wore my own, but where I worked, they did provide some crappy ones. Being young, people think it's no big deal now, but good Lord...you feel it when you're older.
Taylor, this is your boss. Jeff B told me you were posting on You Tube - you're fired! We'll mail you your last paycheck.
lol
david bushinski Shush before I cast Blizzaga on you.
David Bushinski, this your your parole officer. I just wanted to quickly give you a notice that you have violated your parole. I shall be stopping by later this evening to confiscate your computer and sending you back to prison. Sorry buddy!
david bushinski lmfao
David stop lying.
I’m glad I cultivate cannabis for a living.

Can you hook me up?

Tiny Chihuahua I live in a legal state and I have a license to cultivate medical cannabis and sell to dispensaries.

I did this job for 2 days and quit... this job fucking sucks
Where the hell does this guy work at. Because the fullfillment center I work at is nothing like this.
David Dubois how did it go I’m starting my fourth week next Sunday
There are various different types of Amazon warehouses. They have sortable, non-sortable, Prime, Fresh, Sortation, Delivery Station, and recently they've started a thing called Vendor Flex where they have Amazon employees working in a vendor's warehouse. I'm sure there is more that I have not mentioned as well, but that's the gist of the various different types they have.
Don't forget the cross docks (IXD). I work at one. We ship inventory to the Fc's around the country. Right now there's 4 cross docks, I believe.
Marcus Discartin Oh yeah forgot about that one. I almost transferred to the one in Charlotte, NC
No AC ? That is crazy
I would love this job, me being an anti-social person and all, dealing with annoying people at a work place is a pain in the ass...
I'm literally the same you dont talk to no one except if the managers needs to talk to you other than that you dont talk to no one
I start next week any suggestions 🙄🤔
Pam411 P run. Lol jk just make sure to get well rested before every shift day
Johnny English ain’t that the truth
ICQA 3 weeks , and Stow 3 weeks
The easiest jobs at the big facilities are Pack and icqa.
In stow and pick there’s more room for errors and more errors means you get fired.
What does Icqa do?
Oh no standing on your feet ten hours a day and expected to have a certain consistency.
How lazy people have become.
Sounds like a pretty good job to me.👍🏻
Standing on your feet for ten hours isn't bad, its the mindless repetition for 10 hours with no difference day after day. For people who are unfamiliar with factory style labor, its hard to comprehend.
It's not really hard at all.. I'm a picker. And I'm actually pretty good at it now. I actually take pride in my work. I think a lot of people just can't handle actual work.
Tony Fleek a lot of people are also lazy.
This video was really helpful, thank you so much.
Unions....people......Americans died to get a Union at their workplace. Unions
If I remember right..... there's a no union policy
amazon will never have a union
Laborgreen Party
Unions can be bad as well.
Can be. But most of the time u get better wages benefits working conditions.
NAFTA destroyed our unions middle class. And manufacturing sector.
I'd rather have 🎶 playing to get the day done faster
amazon exploits its workers
So does just about every employer.
They will exploit you if you let them. I worked in restaurants and it’s far worse than working at a ups or fed ex
How?????????
Do you realise there was an Amazon advertisement played before I could watch this video?!
Where do you work at?
I think it depends on the facility you work at. Ive been @ amazon 4 over 2yrs. The 1st few weeks are the worst.
Is it a stable job? Hiring 40+ people with no interview seems like they would let you people go easily
It's stable if you can consistently hit the rates they want you to hit. Otherwise they will slowly push you out, or try to get you to leave voluntarily. The big problem is that you don't feel a sense of respect or importance because someone can easily replace you at any time.
amazon hires new people everyday at its facts. they only care for their stuff going out. job security is a big thing for amazon. they can careless about you
They do.
Erect
It’s bs, they can flex you up or down ( which means they don’t wanna pay you , they’ll tell everyone to go home early and they do this every other day
Do you get health benefits right away or after a year of work?
Thanks for sharing this. I went through the hiring process and now waiting for a start date. Hope its not three weeks like you did! Thanks again!
how long did it take ??
How long was it
You will eventually get so damn tired of doing he same thing over and over again. There’s favoritism in order to move up and it’s tiring as well. I’m a picker and I Hate it and looking for a new job currently.
Amazon is a pretty chill place to work depending on the facility and people
ricky bobby fr. Unlike in amazon at least you are indoors with ac so.
construction pays well though- and you get skills. warehouse work does not.
I’m dreading going now 😫😫
Thank you for making this video , I recently got a “ pending start date “ from this job , and this gave me great realistic expectations
Update: this job is horrible , I’m only going to work here a month then I’m out
Good review. Fair and unbiased; stating facts without sounding bitter. It's only been a week, but maybe that will change
Maybe u cant do it cus u a fat bitch
Looking at you, you seem like someone who would rather just stay indoors and play video games all day. So for you, yes it is hell. But it is no way near as bad as warehouse jobs in other developing countries. Amazon warehouse is a typical American warehouse job for easy money.
I have my orientation tonight i hope it goes well I’m making $17.50 an hour.
Chris Sing how’d it go? And do you like it so far?
I’m making 28.00$ an hour !
I go to orientation tomorrow for a personal shopper job for amazon at a whole foods. Hopefully it goes well haha. Thank you for the video!
Lexi Scott personal shopper?
Ooh, how is the pay?
i have worked at amazon for 4 years now and it is not all that bad if you do your job and keep your head down and the school than they will work with you to change your times you start work and days if need be i work 40 hours and go to school 3 times a week you just got to make time
Quick question, since have worked there for 4 years how do you apply for amnesty floor monitor i am intrested in that job and i and sort of new lol
Boycott Amazon by not buying or selling thru them. Quit your prime membership. The horrid ways they treat their people should not be allowed. But we vote against the Co with our dollars going elsewhere.
I had prime for a few months. Honestly wasn't worth it
Sounds like many sci-fi movies over the years, but you are basically expendable labor, a “drone”worker ant. You are probably cheaper than a robotic warehousing system
Really like this kinda videos.
3 and a half to 4 weeks for you to start? I waited 3 months for my start date.
You probably started at a new site or you picked a shift that wasn't in need at the time of applying.
I applied for something else ar another location and got something
Lol my start date took almost 5 months
Alice_mayami 😳 three fucking months shit you better than me I would've found another job by then.
My start date took three months to
i currently work for amazon here in canada! idk wut facility yall been at but mine was like brand new, robots everywhere. super clean, and it was a fun job experience. i applied with a friend and we were placed close to each other were we could chat the whole time we worked. it was fun and chill. managers were nice. idk if this is just a canadian amazon thing. but ya. still working there, night shifts and enjoying it a lot. obviously it general labour and is tough the frist few weeks, but i stuck through the first few weeks and my body adjusted and now its chill.
where in Canada?

Bet the robotics amazon is way better ima try to transfer
Do they do a background check for warehouse

Fucking hell mate. I better not cancel my prime membership just in case amazon lays some of you off....
I've heard they also have 12 hour shifts as well and an additional 15 minute paid break is added as well.
robert paulsen what job did you have
I was a lube tech at a dealership. 7am - 6pm four days a week with an hour lunch.
For me it's the little things like taking part of your break from you that I don't like. I don't think anyone should put up even the small things, or they start to allow bigger problems and abuses because it starts to become normal if you get what I mean.
Except they aren't a lot of places have the same policy for 10 hour shifts. Or that walking to the break room doesn't count. Example is a call center
Wow! That was the best video I’ve watched of someone explaining about working at Amazon. Thanks!
What's the best way to get in?
Hows the pay
Guys seriously, avoid Amazon fufillment centers at all costs..the turnover rate is so fucking high, why do you think they accept anyone who applies
120 items ain't that hard per hour you get multiples which really help
it's 120 at ur facility? we need to hit 200 per hour lool
