Enjoy banking your salvation on a verse that's not even talking about salvation.. We should live a certain way... There will be many that are saved (based on believing Christ died for our sins was buried and rose again) but they will have no rewards to show for there life because they never served Lord. You need to get into Paul's Epistles towards us!! Just sick of sinners trying to pat themselves on the back, "look at me" when they don't even have the first clue about how to be saved and get sealed with the Holy Ghost which is not of works as clearly stated... Salvation is a free gift as explained through Paul, or it's of works.. not of both.. You need to learn how to rightly divide the word of truth as spoken in second Timothy because your way off if your trying to bring your filthy works as a way to stand before God in any manner. I wish to know nothing among you save Christ and Him crucified.. Romans. Btw how many works do I need? What's the quality and quanity needed? We preach Christ crucified for our sins, not trying to perfect the flesh and be accepted by our effort before salvation or after.. our flesh is rotten and condemned in Adam under the law. You've created an entire doctrine off one verse in a book thats not speaking of salvation... Enjoy... If you wanna reject the clear verses set before you to hold fast to your works, or to prove your saved enjoy. Dead faith doesn't mean they aren't saved... It means it's not profitable to anybody because they aren't living the position they have in Christ. James is saying you have faith great, how is it PROFITABLE MY BRETHREN, to bless someone with word without giving them what they actually need... @ovalcap If youve never TRUSTED the finished work of Christ for a sinner standing condemned before him, you are not saved nor sealed with the Holy Spirit. He glorifies Christ. Not self. The only thing you can do REGARDING SALVATION is believe on the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. You don't deserve salvation, therefore YOU CANT EARN SALVATION. Salvation is Gods love towards us, a sinner cannot live God without acknowledging Christ finished work on our behalf.. no matter what verses you try to twist to prove otherwise. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and gave His Son as a proportion for our sins. Look it up.

However, if God commands his followers to do something (which he very much has) why do you think it's okay to not do those things? Jesus says that everyman must take up his own cross. Revelation 22:12 NKJV [12] “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. John 14:15 NKJV [15] “If you love Me, keep My commandments. This is what Jesus has to say. So obviously, you have to have good works. I trust him enough to do as he commands.
