I grew up thinking my Grand Father was something above human. Never saw the man cry. Then this movie came out. He couldn't watch the first half hour of it. I didn't know why until my father explained that he didn't need to see a movie about something he went through.
77th anniversary today. My favorite band along with my favorite movie! To all the brave soldiers who fought and died that day, we will never forget your heroism under dire circumstances! And to the greatest band in history, \m/ Up the Irons!!!
awesome movie, awesome band, awesome song, i love this movie so much and do I ever love Iron Maiden, great Video man, good timing with events and lyrics too
Only respect and admiration for the ones that died in battle storming Omaha Beach i am not American i am Romanian but it doesn't really matter at all that doesn't change my admiration and respect for their heroism and patriotism
ive never heard a metal band that can orchestrate their instruments together as well as maiden and with bruce bellowing above it all it sounds like an angry opera
everytime i watch this movie, it makes me respect those who died for their countries. This may not sound great but my granddad fought for burma helping the americans against japan.
After seein that movie i have a totally new perspective on war and im so appreciative of everything the troops did for us on D-day I can't even say it.
Salute!!!! An amazing song, for a very, very amazing movie. I was only able to watch this movie one time,,it was just way too real, I think. When i was just a young guy I remember seeing actual videos and pictures if these wars, and battles,,and though I respected, and honored these men, I if course was also very saddened. So many had passed away, and they were hardly older than myself. Thanks to veterans of all wars.
we may not forget we may not retry we may not let it come so far as this EVER again thumbs up for the people who died in this hard a** battle for freedom
Wow... just... unbelievable. Definitely, by far, the best video ever uploaded to RUclips. Congratulations- this captures the spirit of the song like nothing else possibly could.
@lpsoldierchris My grandfather stormed Omaha Beach on that day. He told me that the defenders of that beach were the toughest SOB's he's ever seen. Big props to your Great Grandfather. The soldier doesn't fight for policy he fights for his buddies any true warrior knows that.
Do you really think the ratio was/is important? 73.000 Americans participated on D-Day. That's 73.000 brave men. The rest of the population supported them with everything they needed, i.e. food, ammunition and other supplies. They worked really hard. Not to mention that the Americans actually fought a two-front war which neither the British nor the Canadians did. All of you who participated in the war, civilians as well as soldiers, we salute you!
Their families? Don't give me that... Their families were safe home, just like the country was. They fought to gave Europe freedom. Still, a noble cause, I won't deny that :D
This phrase was said about the British pilots of the air battle of Britain you dumbass, not about the D-Day soldiers Even because the soldiers of the battle of Normandy were not exactly soo few
Funny to find this video because everytime i listened to The Longest Day, it was exactly the scenes fom Saving Private Ryan that came to my mind. Very good video, thanks for editing and sharing!
thank u soomuch u timed the video thank u soo much i watch every other video and ur the only one that timed the music and that waz a sad day for us long live USA!!!!
I agree. Hitler had a grudge against Stalin and communism and the bulk of his army were fighting in the eastern front. By the time the Allies landed on D-Day, The Wehrmacht had suffered from staggering casualties in the eastern front. Don't forget that America was also fighting in the Pacific as well. However, the Americans and British fought together in the western front.
This movie was writing about the text to the war journalist named Cornellius Ryan ("the longest day", wrote in 1959), and the singer Bruce Dickinson ,who has studies in history, He wrote this song, for the braves mens, whos bleed and dying in this damned beach, more respect for they memory, they dont choose the dying in this place. PD: La ignorancia no es ninguna virtud.Lean burros.
you're right, I'm glad that steven spielberg directed the film because we always wanted to know the war is like and we finally got a close-up of the war is like, thanks to spielberg,
Propoganda? Propoganda is something to make you hate or wanna fight against something. This is a great movie, and it shows the reality of war. This movie wasn't made to make us want to hunt down nazi's!
Omaha Beach 6/6/44 @ 6:30 A.M., the first wave of U.S. troops approached the beach. They expected little resistance but faced just the opposite as the U.S. aerial bombardment had evidently gone awry. Many soldiers drowned. Their landing boats, tanks and artillery also sank in the heavy tides. The Germans defenders fought at full strength on the other hand. Still, by 12:00 Mid-day: The bluff overlooking the beach was taken. Both sides suffered horrific casualities.
Only Iron maiden can capture the brutality and heroism of war in one song.
Yes but a7x can as well look at this means war with the saving private Ryan video
@@devilschild7022 And Sabaton.

My Uncle Kenny Williams was in the second wave to hit Omaha Beach. He survived and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Academy Awards are so thick that they didn't even award this brilliant war movie with a Best Picture and Best Screenplay
For those who have died Rest in Peace.
For those who have fought in war and survived you will always be remembered.
Let us all give honor and great admiration to this young men who sacrifices their lives for us. Long Live Allied Soldiers!!!
Супер!!! Не перестаю удивляться мастерству Iron Maiden. СЛАВА УКРАИНЕ!
The best thing about the movie is that the greatest cowards survived while all the heroes died horribly. The best moral message imaginable.
