MGM has one of the least convenient/antiquated reward systems in the industry, especially when it comes to poker. Every poker room is like an independent entity. You can play a ton of hours at Aria, but can't use your comps at any other MGM location. And even to use the comps, you have to go to the poker desk, know exactly how much you want to spend and where, and have them give you a voucher. Its like they are using a typewriter and the rest of the industry has Macbooks. BTW, thanks for the info. These type of videos are super helpful.
We have MGM Gold status with matching Emerald status with Royal Caribbean. It only lasts for that year. We have to call and get them to rematch the status every February. So I think MGM status only lasts through the calendar year you earn it and maybe January of the year after.
Great info Nomad, you don't see other poker youtubers breaking it down to the nitty gritty like this, at least I haven't. Makes a lot of sense if you're grinding full time to take advantage of this, would save a lot in the long run.
Damn, I was there during the 10x multiplier just to get platinum status. Had I known the status was good for the following year as well I would’ve gone for Diamond. Great info to have. Thanks
Thanks for the breakdown, Rice. Really good information. Your video also prompted a lot of useful input/data points from your viewers (especially for MGM properties), so that's a bonus. Thanks!
Good info Zach! Our play on our 2 to 3 trips per year gets us the free parking at both Caesars and MGM properties, which is great because we always get a rental car. And we get either comp'd or close to comp'd rooms too, but that next tier would be great to get past the resort fees. But again, good info on the numbers needed! Hopefully see you in December!
It looks like MGM doesn't match Caesar Diamond to anything anymore. A year ago Diamond matched to Gold. First half of this year to Pearl. Now need Diamond Plus to get Gold match. I like having Pearl or higher to get free self-parking. Parking at Caesar and playing there is fine tho.
No bother at all I asked Tim but he didn’t know. I don’t know if the same for all rooms but that’s aria anyway. Il stay in Bellagio for a week next week so il ask them as well.@@VegasPokerNomad
I took a screenshot of my conversation ,but you tube doesn't allow me post screen shots thats what aria said to me anyway. I dont know about the rest. If you feel it's low just txt aria poker room yourself. That was March of this year I asked. There's no free play etc with that it's just tier credit level. Plus 2 dollars comps per hour.
Ive called bellagio few hours ago. They are owned by MGM and they confirmed it takes 75 hours to reach each tier at the poker table. Also u are allowed to split and combine your time among all casinos just like within ceassar. And it will count towards your next teir
Bellagio said 75 for Pearl, 150 for Gold, 225 for Platinum? And claimed it can be split? I think someone had a good intention to help you out, but is just incorrect. Interesting timing though. Watch tomorrow's video. I've been saving it for the new year.
Resort fees are a joke along with charging for parking. They're pricing the average gambler right out of Vegas. The only reason I'm still going is thanks to Spirit Airlines $50 to $100 RT rates from Portland. And I don't even think they're doing the status card match anymore unless you're a new member.🙄
A little more info. You can log a total of 150 between the vegas properties (Mgm, MBay, Bell, Aria) and they will get you Gold. Key is you as the player must prompt the floor to get the hours for the combined properties. All of this came from the floor at MBay today. I hope this helps.
Hey Nomad, great info. Let's say I park at MGM grand parking lot for 5 days straight and I end up getting Pearl after 5 days. Do I have to pay the $90 parking fee for the first 5 days or does that get waived once I get Pearl status?
That's a very specific scenario. I don't know. -- A friend of mine parked, had his old card, but he did have the proper status, but the Rewards Desk was closed, so he couldn't get a printed card with the proper expiration date and status, and on the way out, he talked through the intercom to the parking guy and they opened the gate.

Yup. All true things I didn't mention in the video lol.
MGM is trash. Least generous of the big ones. Caesars beats them by far.

Even more info on MGM properties coming in a few weeks. I'm gathering info.
MGM is too complicated. They should combine their statuses so their customers can casino hop.
If you are a veteran you get pearl automatically, which includes free parking

I messaged aria a few months back. They messaged me back with the hours as I asked the question. It's 75 hours for pearl and 150 hours for gold.
Cool. If I were in Vegas, I would have gone around and asked at all 4 rooms. But a viewer asked for this video once I was already in Iowa.

That seems low?

Do you ever go on the Bahamas cruise or flight to Nassau ? I think diamond plus sent me a 3-4 night stay in Bahamas.
I don't get that offer. They usually offer me the Dubai trip. I don't use it though.
where do you go to get the free voucher drinks ?
There's a list somewhere of the places you can use them. I often use them at the pizza place in Paris.

@@VegasPokerNomad yeah that's what they said. Im going to vegas in February, i want to decide on the shortest path to no resort fees reward teir.

Ty bro
Does Caesar tier match to diamond if you have mgm gold ? Because Caesar just drop me down to platinum
I don't know. I've never matched.
It is 150 hours at Mandalay for poker and you will have gold. I confirmed today while on site.

@@DH-ss4me Cool. Never heard that before. Thanks for asking.
Where have u been using your $100 diamond celebration dinner at ?
Not always the same place. Pub and Grille last time.

You're the only person I've ever heard call Bellagio Bell. I swear every time I hear it I'm like where is that. I've never heard of it
Lol. A dealer at Resorts World did it out of nowhere and I was floored. Yeah it's rare, but I say it a lot so I shorten it.
can't you get diamond at Ceasars and have mgm match
Now you have to have Diamond Plus to get MGM Gold, new for 2023.
There are matches. Some seem to be going away. And some are for a one-time use for life, not each year. -- I've never matched.
I believe MGM will do a 1 time "tier match" from diamond to gold
It's possible. I know some places match each year, some once per lifetime, some are stopping altogether.
Bellagio Is 75/150 hours
Thanks. I should have gone around and checked all 4 rooms myself. But I'm gone.
150 for gold?
