just an incredible video all around. I learn more from insights like these than most games of magic I could play. Thanks for putting time into this Matt
For the last pick, assuming this is pack 1 pick 1 (no other cards were shown already taken), I'd take Torch the Witness over Maverick Thopterist, because it is monocolor and therefore more likely to end up in my final deck. Torch the Witness is a really strong card too.
love the conversation around the leyline keep against phoenix, not enough players realize positions where they're starting behind and need to lean into getting lucky to grab a game win.
i agree with everyhing you said for the same reasons pretty much, except for the huschenbeth? thoughtseize i think i would have taken bitter triumph over greasefang. awesome video! i was thinking 45 minutes is too long but i was too short!
I think the hand at 8:58 deserves a bit more of a consideration about wether to keep it or not. - a color of mana is missing so very little out to play amalia early - Wildgrowth walker on 2 with no follow up isn’t really scary to an opp so no pressure on them to keep a removal up, meaning they are able to deploy sorcery speed threat -Yes we can answer such threats with Skyclave bit is that good enough ? - i guess you have the threat of coco with wildfrowth on board if oppo deals with skyclave... You know what ? I was going to argue for a mull but i convinced myself in real time writing this that the hand is a keep :)
I like this type of videos, however, out of the first cca 8 scenarios, the only one that felt even worth stopping to think about was whether to remove Elvish Mystic, and now I am kind of worried about Paul Rietzl because of some of his submissions.

Video is good as ever but this emoji plus surprise face thumbnail has got to go. Please.
Someone hacked the account and uploaded that thumbnail
