I dont even think cutting the cage is alway imporant for guys like diego. When we have a cage, (i personally like to be more violent, but however) I can use that double step or galloping fient to just push you up against the gate, pressure you there for a bit, just a second or two wether its pop shots or just good wrestling pressure, then work my way back to center making it apparent i am not afraid of nor avoiding action, while actively making it look like youre running. I can pretty much force the ref to tell you to stand in front of me. A great example of this is, rodtang, jose aldo, and frankie edgar in some fights. Chasing a fighter that moves a lot creates opprotunities for them to do damage, but also continue to appear active.
Talking about fight IQ, DJ you take the belt with ease. Probably the best there ever has been on so many levels, but certainly on this one for sure. Speaking as a observational idiot myself though.

I didn’t understand the frowns but basically what I got was that it’s like wackamole. If you only ever react, you have a poor chance of actually catching them at the right moment. If, instead, you just throw stuff, be first, even if you’re not confident you will land, you drastically increase your chances. Maybe I misunderstood though.

Because Volk uses his IQ and movement so well he doesn't even have to do that much.. but if he did Diego would be ruined even faster.. Diego is not stronger he's not smarter but he still has a chance at a knock out if he can manage to land a decent shot..
I remember all the casuals saying Diego was gonna win lol Diego is actually terrible, striking technique is horrible and on top of it he just stands there like a bot getting pieced up .
I want to see Diego engage in the grappling exchanges more this time around he was effective against Silva and was dangerous off his back against movsar
