Thanks for the video. But like a lot of others, I think you’re missing the use case for this product. It’s basically a shop grade dust buster. If you need to clean your shop floor that has dust and much larger items, I recommend using your shop vac … it’s not that much more of hassle and the shop vac has more suction and a larger entry path.
I own this and happy with it so far. I think you need to realize it's a small vac for small jobs and it's nothing fancy. I honestly only made it halfway through your video and with all the complaining i think you should either throw it out or if you have a wife give it to her lol.
Thank you for this video. Return it for a replacement if you can... We went through four different (ridiculously insufficient) handheld vaccums before buying this one and I haven't been happier! A friend recommended this vacuum to us and we all agree that it is the most amazingly awesome handheld vacuum any of us have ever had.
Dyson has the same issues, anything larger than a piece of popcorn gets stuck. Your review is pretty awful to be honest. So far I love this thing, does a great job with small messes, cars, shop stuff.
His review was awesome and was exactly what I needed to know. He said that he liked it except for the limitations in the long hose and the wall inside the nozzle. I agree with both points. And the Dyson comparisons were helpful. My only complaint about this video is that he didn’t include an affiliate purchase link in the video description so that I could pay him for his time.
@ForOrchestra not at all a good review my guy, all he did was complain about minor issues ( that for the most part aren't actual issues) like complaining about the design of the end of the hoes claiming its uncomfortable which in my experience is just not the case. Really the only thing he complained about that is an actual issue is the design of the floor attachment. He seems to expect it to what a shop vac will do when that is not at all what it is designed for its not made to pic up large quantities of saw dust so of corse its clogs when you do that. If you buy it to do what it's designed to do its a great little vacuum (little being important word there).
It has its place. As an electrician, if I’m working in an office setting it’s perfect for sucking up the dust/scraps and insulation without having to bend over. If there’s any big pieces I can pick them up by hand or sweep them up after and to me it’s still more convenient than the traditional style.
I bought one of these a month or so ago. I also got some cheap, aftermarket filters and some foam socks to go over them. The plan is to take extreme care of the original DeWalt HEPA filter and use it only in the house. The others will get blown out with an air gun regularly, which I suspect will 'open them up' a bit for even better suction. These better flowing filters will be covered with the foam socks and used in the shop, or anywhere else power is more important than HEPA filtration. The foam socks can simply be shaken off in the waste can and hand washed in the sink, then squeezed out and hung up to dry. So far it hasn't been a problem, but if the "flat face" in the floor nozzle - 6:36 - causes me too much grief, I will simply drill it out or adapt the nozzle from my old retired stick vac to it and never look back. So far so good. 😎
For some reason the reviewer seemed to have a negative attitude from the outset, kind of petty comments mostly. I love it.. It is a perfect vacuum with the straight pipe for vacuuming up dust and bugs around baseboards.. For the most part one of the worst reviewers I've seen.
I rarely comment on videos, but I just wanted to say that I tend to agree with your comment. The reviewer really doesn't understand the use case for this vacuum and clearly misinterprets some of the design features. Sounds like he needs a cordless shop vac as opposed to a Dewalt dust buster. Also at the end of the video, contrary to the video title, he says the hand vac does indeed have good suction lol.
That is one of the most annoying reviews I've ever seen. Whining about the packaging, the color doesn't match, comparing it to vacuums designed for totally different purposes (shop vac), or in a totally different price range. All in a 15 minutes video that could have been 2 minutes long and actually provided the useful information that was scattered throughout your review.
I thought this video review was absolutely well done. I hate reviews that don't take a critical lens to the product and are basically shills for the OEM. If the reviewer wants to test it on a dirty shop floor and it worked then I'd be reasonably safe to vacuum my baseboards. But if he only tested it on crown moulding cobwebs then how am I supposed to know if it will have sufficient power to vacuum some sawdust? Seems the comments on this video are unreasonably critical of the review. The reviewer hit all the points I was interested in, and did it is a very concise manner. Kuddos. I appreciated your honesty/authenticity. Dewalt isn't going to be sponsoring you anytime soon, but I'll happily watch your video reviews in the future. Thanks for posting this review!
Wow. Phenomenal review. As others have…unreasonably complained, one minute in I thought you were being highly critical. Then came more useful information in a single minute than other reviewers entire videos. Really well done. Anyone complaining either didn’t finish the video, suffers from biased brand loyalty, and/or doesn’t value a critical and thorough review. Furthermore, you validated my assumptions based on an hour of research. As someone in the DeWalt platform, I wanted to purchase it. But it appeared to have significant shortcomings(not long enough attachments, no carpet beater, small and cumbersome dust bin). Not bad for the price I suppose. Thanks for the thorough review. You answered every question I had plus more in only a few minutes. Easily one of the best product reviews I’ve seen, and I’ve watched over a thousand.
Got mine for $99.99 from Amazon a little over a year ago and you can't beat it, especially at that price! It's been absolutely perfect for the cars and I've used it all over in places I never would've thought like at a storage unit and cleaning out a friend's old shed. One of the best uses I've found is to clean my dryer's lint trap! I always hated peeling the lint off the screen and having dust get on everything and breathing it in, but now I have this awesome little vacuum hanging right there on the wall in the garage next to my washer and dryer! I don't even touch the lint now. Just suck it right up.
Thanks for sharing your inputs. Helps me have an informed decision. They could definitely improve the design in the next releases. Im gonna buy this now though.
Honestly, ALL of dewalts compact vacuums are terrible compared to the competition. The people in the comments that are upset you gave it a “bad review” are dewalt simps, pay them no mind. We need honest reviewers on RUclips, not corporate shills. I myself am a dewalt fan, and even I know that dewalt is really slack with their R&D on compact vacuums. Literally all of their previous compact vacs are awful. Which is a shame because their shop vacs are really good, so it’s weird they drop the ball over and over again with their compact vacs. Great review. Keep up the good work 👍
@ simps for who? I only own dewalt tools, so would you call me a dewalt simp..? The facts are, their compact vacs are not that good compared to others.
Op does a very good job with detailing everything about the vaccum but my only negative is only view about it is as a "shop vac" doesnt consider if your drilling holes or cutting some drywall in someones house. You dont need a shop vac just something that needs to suck up minimal dust/debris to get out quick that light and versitile. Without needing to pull out a acctual vaccum
That hook is for hanging in your belt when you are cutting drywall or wood and you don't have to Carrie with your hand since you hold the suction hose with one hand and with your other hand you are holding your tool lo
I have this vacuum and think it's great! Things can always be better, but I'm not spending $400 to $500 for a dyson! I love Dewalt tools and been using them for ever!
Regarding the HEPA Filter, the main reason for it is likely due to the filter from fine dust such as drywall or other types of fine suspended solids = a very wise design in my opinion and for the longevity of the vacuum's life.
I thought your review was great, I was going to buy one thinking that it would meet all my needs but in fact its really only good for dust busting. You got me thinking about vacuums to a higher level too so that I'll be looking at others more critically.
I don't use this vacuum to do maintanance,,I use for remodeling is good when you cut drywall or make holes with your tools you just hang it on your belt with that Little hook and you don't have to hold it with your hand you have more access to use your hands when you coting something, this is a very good vacuum
An excellent review. Direct, honest and to the point. Well presented. At no point was I bored and find the need to fast forward as I do with many reviews from other people.
I don't think airflow is a great metric for vacuum cleaners. The suction power seems to have a bigger effect on what the tool can actually pick up. For example the Makita cordless vacuum I got had a higher flow rate than it's 40V counterpart, but significantly lower suction power. As a result it sucks, and not in a good way. The 40V model performs much better from comparisons I've seen. I was just hoping the 18V model would have been adequate enough, but it's really not.
Yes, I’m thinking this criticism of your “test“ is sorta valid. As a measurement of suction power… It’s sort of like the difference between current and voltage. Your measuring the ‘current’ -how much air is moving through per second. But that’s not a Measure of the force with which that air is being pushed, i.e. the voltage. I’ve seen that one sort of standard measure of vacuum vacuuming strength that sales people use is ping-pong balls-how many can be held up in a tube before they start falling out the end.
Can you please do a review of the dcv100xe workshop blower? In Australia the new version is a piece of crap 💩! I bought one from a popular tool company ( tradetools) in Australia but they cut out after a minute with a 5AH battery! The sales rep was trying to BS me about protective circuitry to save the motor from overheating!!!! Yet when he tested mine on a 54 volt it kept going until the battery died and my workshop blower was hot to the touch! I said ok, thanks but no thanks and walked out. I went to our popular hardware and bought the same model thinking the tradetools version was a defect! But same and I swapped to another fully charged 5Ah and again it cut out. I took it back and i just bypassed the circuitry on my dcv100xe blower and beautiful! No cutting out and blows like brand new.
Should have bought a broom and not thag vacuum if you don't need half the features. It was also stated before you bought it so try reading description next time.
This thing sounds worse than my neighbors gas-powered leaf blower! If DEWALT could just spend a little bit of R&D on reducing its db output to a reasonable level...
Bought one despite watching this review. My wife and I both think its great and we use it almost daily.
Thanks for the video. But like a lot of others, I think you’re missing the use case for this product. It’s basically a shop grade dust buster. the round accessory, if you take the hairs/bristles off, it fits to many Dewalt tools. 😀
Dyson has the same issues, anything larger than a piece of popcorn gets stuck. Your review is pretty awful to be honest. So far I love this thing, does a great job with small messes, cars, shop stuff.
Glad you’re happy with it!
So is it good for facing out cars and say the baseboard of a carpeted home?

I had a negative attitude because its not a good vacuum. The design is lazy and poorly done.
Have to agree very off putting from the beginning dude complains about everything instead of explaining and moving on.
@@willtay3016 100% agree

Takes up no room in the van and will clean your work area. For what it is it’s really good.

Lol

I use mine to clean out my car and it works great. Keep you expections in check...it's not a shop vac
Agreed!

I think it’s great, but I only use it for my kitchen instead of using a broom.
I wish they would have put a shoulder strap on it, like a guitar or a rifle.
Agree, might make 1

Regarding the HEPA Filter, the main reason for it is likely due to the filter from fine dust such as drywall or other types of fine suspended solids = a very wise design in my opinion and for the longevity of the vacuum's life.
Dust coming from drywall has very large particles, in the 10 micron size. HEPA is absolutely not needed for that.
I thought your review was great, I was going to buy one thinking that it would meet all my needs but in fact its really only good for dust busting. You got me thinking about vacuums to a higher level too so that I'll be looking at others more critically.
Should the led light stay on fow a while after turning it off?
This or the dwh161 model? 🤔 I think this is more powerfull
Honest review
I don't use this vacuum to do maintanance,,I use for remodeling is good when you cut drywall or make holes with your tools you just hang it on your belt with that Little hook and you don't have to hold it with your hand you have more access to use your hands when you coting something, this is a very good vacuum
Bought one for work, no complaints. In fact i bought a second one because the wife keeps taking mine to vacuum stairwells
Can u use a DCB103 OR DCB107 with this tool??? It calls for the DCB105...
Isn't that HEPA filter washable?
Thanks for the review, I'm really starting to wonder if I want to spend the money on it if it clogs up like that.
Been using this every day at work to clear up solder and wire cuttings. Not really sure whats wrong with it.
An excellent review. Direct, honest and to the point. Well presented. At no point was I bored and find the need to fast forward as I do with many reviews from other people.
Nice review mate
Was gonna buy 1. but if it fills 2 quick ie router works. I won't bother

I just bought it, but it seems like a nice vacuum, decent suction power, enough for car vacuum needs
Checking out reviews before I pull the trigger…… figured I’d go for dewalt as got plenty of batteries and chargers….
Can you please do a review of the dcv100xe workshop blower? In Australia the new version is a piece of crap 💩! Is it BRUSHLESS? That's kind of important to me.
This vacuum is amazing! It’s a daily use in our household.
Seems like all you want to do is whinge about it from the beginning.
Anyone noticed (not genuine British) all europeans say its not this and its not that?
has anyone compared it to the milwaukee 0882 (the compact handheld that looks very similar)?
I sweep the big stuff and vacuum the small stuff
Should have bought a broom and not thag vacuum if you don't need half the features. It was also stated before you bought it so try reading description next time.
Very informative, very helpful. Thank you very much!
Which shop vac is that
Its a old model, L250. It’s a 2.5 gallon 8amp vac.
great review - very practical and well presented ... cheers
I think it uses Hepa filter so its in compliance with health regulations on job sites
To be in compliance, the whole unit needs to be HEPA certified, not just the filter.
I have and I love it i use it for in the house
He could have a wife which is a burden, dont think he'll enjoy a gf on the side
Winge Winge Winge oh all those plastic bags oh you poor thing
Bro.. its not a dam shop VAC...its a cookie crumb vac duster for your car seats and car floors. not a workshop...
Good video, but gotta equalize your audio bro
Which part of the audio?
I love mine. Lots of power
This thing sounds worse than my neighbors gas-powered leaf blower!
If DEWALT could just spend a little bit of R&D on reducing its db output to a reasonable level...
... but they did, well over a year ago. It's called stealthsonic and runs at 60 db
Excellent review. Thank you for your honesty.
Great for camping
great vaccum bro
I have this vacuum, and his grate
what a Karen!😂
