2001-2005 Honda Civic NO START, NO POWER, HAZARD LIGHT WORKS, SOLVED!

  • If you have a no start, no crank, no power, no electricity, but your HAZARD lights work only, most likely this is the issue! If you're messing with the alternator, make sure to disconnect your battery so you can prevent this from happening, or if you accidentally reverse your battery terminals. Some vehicles have 80 AMP fuse and some are 100 AMP fuse. In our case, it was our 80 AMP Battery fuse that was blown. This works for all vehicles, 7th generation (2001~2005) & 8th(2006~2011) Generation Honda Civic DX, LX, EX, EX-L, & Si(2-dr coupe & 4-dr sedans)

    I might need to try this I tried searching all over the web and so far just a ton of forums that don't seem to address my issue. I drove to work parked the car and now I'm leaving work and nothing. No beep, no dash lights (other than the ebrake and oil pressure), headlights don't work, interior lights all out nothing. Even if this IS the issue I have no idea how I'm going to get a replacement fuse since it's not a common regular fuse like a 15a etc.
    Edit: my battery was dead... jumped it and it started right up. I think I might have a bad alternator if the battery just randomly died

    • @TheJacyn313
      @TheJacyn313 2 года назад +1

      @@NutzAboutBolts probably about 10 years old give or take. After further troubleshooting I found the cause for the dead battery too. 01 civics have a little shitty plastic piece that keeps a small button depressed that activates your brakes. Apparently that little crappy button can just break over the years and for me as small pieces fall out my brake lights would occasionally get stuck on intermittently I just never noticed because it's so bright outside. My brake lights didn't always stay on and I never noticed it until 2am one day after parking so that's apparently a thing these cars can do. Just have the brake lights get stuck on for no reason.
      Cost like $6 for the stupid piece and bought a new battery as well since it was literally older than dirt anyways.

      @@TheJacyn313 wow, 10 years is pretty good for a battery, mine usually last 4-6 years. I’ve never seen a button to activate the brakes before, how interesting. But yes, having a light on can slowly drain the battery and cause it to die. Glad you found the issue 👍🏼

He put the battery charger on the car and it started? He somehow determined that by what the battery charger said.. I think it said 12 something. I do have a key issue as well, I need to switch out the fob w/a new one it was falling apart.
      How do you determine whether it’s the battery or the alternator?
      It is is totally possible it’s the Alternator. I just don’t want to spend all this $ on an Alternator and then actually be something else 😬😭.

      @NutzAboutBolts  3 года назад +1

      @@ilovecornell do you have an aftermarket alarm on your vehicle? That’s why it’s not cranking?
      When an alternator is the issue, the battery light turns on because it’s not charging the battery so the light stays on. If it’s just the battery, no lights would light up and it’ll be dead and nothing works. Your abs, brakes and traction light is on, could be something else if he just hook a battery charger on and it starts, 🤷🏽‍♂️ maybe he’s right but that’s from my opinion on working on vehicles.
