I remember visiting CA to checkout Venice, Santa Monica, Hollywood etc a few years back before COVID. Easily the WORST "vacation" of my life. Being hassled by homeless people, terrible vibe and energy. I couldn't get back to Texas soon enough. Really not sure what makes people think this place is nice because it's nowhere near what it portrays itself to be. Maybe it was beautiful at one point in history, but that time has long gone.

If you’re still in California, you need to go to San Diego and skate the Local DIY park under the bridge. Washington street It was made by the locals and it’s insane. Or you should go skate the new skatepark in Hemet ca, tons of cool stuff at that park, I could show you a bunch of cool skateparks in the Area I’m from.

Skated Venice Beach last week for the first time - the area around it is a total dump despite the beautiful beach. Had a MUCH better time at Inglewood Pump Track which is only a short drive from Venice, CA.
California is easily one of the most coveted states to visit because of the associated weather and coast. But in order for those reasons to be worthwhile you have to remove every other aspect about it.
