I don't say "Modders are fixing Pharaoh" lightly, Agony really does do a lot to make it more realistic, challenging and down to Earth. Especially from a campaign perspective. Hopefully lot's more to come in future updates as there's more to do here but overall I've really been enjoying it and I think you might too! Let me know what you think in the comments below :)
it never ceases to amaze me how a small dedicated team, working for free, make amazing games... and then a huge studios, being paid alot, make games that are way below par.
Important note for anyone looking to play this : replenishment is possible in some outposts like wards IF the unit is stored in a province it was recruited from and takes a lot longer for high tier units because it depends of the unit tier upgrade chance.
legitimacy and kingdoms would fit amazingly in medieval 3 Imagine being duke of normandy, part of the french kingdom, going off to attack and take england, becoming king of england and now you own terrritory in france as king of england and it causes problems Not to mention royal courts, civil wars inheritance
Started playing TW:P Dynasties couple of days ago, put over 40 hrs already in it and i have to say i really, really like it and see myself playing it for houndreds of hrs. Great job CA Sofia!
A major part of the reason why I bought Pharaoh is that I know it is having a lot of modder attention currently, and I can look forward to those incredible improvements later on.
One of the reasons i still prefer Atilla and Medieval 2 to other total wars is the simplicity and how easy it is to differenciate units inside battles. When playing this i just cant connect or immerse myself because i need to have different ui's or bars to know what is on the battlefield. I prefer when the field is simpler but i can see clearly and distinguish the units more clearly

Why is the 'worker' class completely separated from the 'warrior' class? Didn't the majority of the lower level soldiers get conscripted from the worker class?
Actually, all population can either be "worker"/productive or "warrior"/military. All population in a region is a unit that is either in the recruitment pool, garrison (settlement or outpost) or got recruited into an army. If the unit got recruited into an army, it will be part of the military pop and reduce the amount of productive population that is available in the region/province. So yes, all population (pool + garrison) are starting out as workers until they get recruited into an army.
@mandabaltor2731 that's not the way he said it tho, he made it sound like they were 2 separate classes and only the pop cap of the warrior class could be recruited.
@@DraconimLt Yes, I can understand that it sounded like it but the way it works in the mod is as I described. Population grows into units that are in garrison or the recruitment pool and are part of the productive population and once recruited from the pool will show up as military population instead, so reduce the productive portion.
There's only 2 bad things on Terminator videos: 1 - At some point the video, sadly, ends. 2 - There's always PA or Volound fans that come to complain about every little details and praise Medieval 2, a completly un-historical game (good game but historic 0) Anything else is just on point, as always.
Ey Terminator, por favor for the sake of all of our time and sanity could you list a modpack with Agony and one aimed at vanilla. How true is that Pharaoh Coop campaign is broken and left unfixed by CA? I keep reading that on the forums and on reviews and I am on the fence about buying the game if COOP doesn't work as it does in Rome 2
I love pharaoh the way it is, so the mod is not really for me. Seems like it overcomplicates and slows down things which some people may enjoy. At the end of the day I am happy this might give the game more love from the community.
the only problem i see with this mod is the replenishment, i understand legendary troy melee fighters will be harder to replenish than other units but i do not understand the fact that i will have to play with a unit nearly dead for a lot of turns until they kill it because i cant replenish it
Man, I want to like the idea but did they really have to just delete the ancient legacies? Like that's a bit of Pharaoh I am really fond of (especially Akhenaten's)
Mods are rarely properly balanced and usually overly difficult with artificial difficulty. Pharaoh is a slog with countless meaningless garrison battles and hunting down raiding enemies
The mod overhauls all mechanics and throws in a million new ones but does nothing to address the fact that about ⅔ of the map are either Classical towns and countries that shouldn’t be there or literal fiction, at the same time a truck load of real Bronze Age kingdoms (and even provinces of Egypt (!!!)) that _should_ be there are missing, and probably the defining phenomenon of the entire Bronze Age era - the Tin Road - is basically not in the game. In short, yes, the mod does a lot of things, but ultimately it does not change the fact that this ‘Bronze Age’ game is _not a Bronze Age game_
It is to help with the overall goal to make especially elite units more valuable and their losses more meaningful. You will use them much more thoughtful in battle, as it is not easy to get them or replenish them as it would be in vanilla.
I dont know if I like the removal of Ancient legacies and Court, it takes away the unique elements, rebalance them mayble, but remove them? taking away features is never a good thing.
You might miss it for a couple turns but forget about it quickly and the campaign will actually become much more focused (as it used to be in older games that didn't have these separate mechanics)
@@mandabaltor2731 I mean yeah, but I actually think in modern historical TW games there should be unique mechanics for separate culture groups to encourage replayability , maybe not as gamey as Pharaoh, but something should be there.

I've been a total war fan for 20 years and I never gave a damn about population mechanics. Renaming Workforce to Population and simplifying the complex Egyptian society into "citizens" and "military" is just stupid and just serves as another cheap way of restricting the players' expansion. It's not realistic and definitely not innovating.
Workforce isn't renamed to population. The population is actually changing the recruitment system here completely while workforce was about building construction. Also, the population mechanic is not just affecting the player but the AI as well, though in affect it indeed slows down the campaign and especially the whack-a-mole dynamic.
