it's september when i'm watching this but this house has such good christmassy energy that i kept humming "fueille d'automne" by indila (very holiday-y)!
I always thought about looking online or thru magazines to get ideas to build. I suck at building but thought if I had a blueprint to go by I could do it. Then again they say.....practice makes perfect! ;)

This is such a realistic family home! It feels nice and homey and perfectly cluttered! While I love the bay window seat in the upstairs kid's room, I'd prefer a square part for the kitchen. Isn't there a bay window you can add that is on a straight wall? That might require some fiddling with the upstairs, but than you could add counters there on a straight wall and make an l-shaped kitchen or do two l-shaped kitchen parts, you know, when the kitchen counters form first an outward facing corner before forming a "normal" l-shape. I just think with such a big family the kitchen would have also accumulated a lot of kitchen clutter and you'd definitely need a lot of cabinet space for that, even if they have sideboards/vitrines in the dining room. It just would make for an even more realistic kitchen than living room chairs in the bay window I feel. But maybe that's just personal taste. What drives me nuts is the one column between the kitchen and dining room that is diagonal while the other one is square-oriented. But that is fixed easily. Also I'd delete the mirror in the toddler bedroom. And maybe add a back deck or a conservatory plus deck in the back yard (might need a bigger lot though) and I'd add dog stuff, but again all personal preference. Overall this is a fantastic home for anyone that needs a big homey feeling family house and feels like they can't build it themselves.
I find myself wishing for more classical things like sims being able to dance to the piano, ballroom dancing, and ballet. And ball gowns for ballroom dancing. Idk at least for sims to hold each other when they are dancing together to the piano :)
Maybe just for me... but with my sims I would probably use the "plan a vacation" interaction before Winterfest, so this BEAUTIFUL house can be their winter vacation home.

Really like this build! Just a heads up about something that kind of bothered me with the layout: I have lived in over 10 houses/apartments in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, and something they all have in common is a hallway that is somewhat closed off/separated from the other rooms. This is really practical in a cold climate, as opening the doors usually brings a gast of cold air inside, and you wouldn't want rain or snow in your face while sitting on the couch. Also, you need a place to leave the clothes you've worn outside and to dry your shoes, because there is obviously no reason why you should bring that into the livingroom or kitchen and let the snow melt all over your floor. So yeah, if I were to use this in a gameplay I would definitely add that. Maybe something you can add too in your next snowy/rainy builds? :D

I wish the snow in sism 4 was more fluffy, i thought it was "flat" because i have mine on low quality graphic wise. But i guess its just flat, would love the snow to be knee deep or something
I have an idea for a build for you! maybe try building a family home where one parent is jewish and one is christian, so you could mix christmas and hanukkah decorations! i think it’d be a fun challenge with color palletes ;)

When you clutter tables etc and you move the furniture out of the way and ‘float’ the clutter to get it how you want and then put the furniture back under it, how do you do that please? I hope that makes sense! I love your builds xxx
