I could listen to you telling these stories of yesteryear in a totally different lifetime for hours. I watch videos on the Appalachian way of life and the amazing music that is played and sang there, the famous and the families just having a good time. I hope you do more of these videos showing a stunning lifestyle, without money, but more than made up for with the love, unless there was a grudge between families of course, they could go on for generations. I know that because I am 1st generation Irish that were very similar kind of people and background. Thank you Jared.

I love these stories. Reminds me of back home when I was a kid. We hit the floors at 4:30 except Saturdays. We got to sleep in an hour. All the neighbors whopped our backsides if we did wrong. So we was raised by many families. Thank you Jared I hope I can now get my notifications now. I got me a new phone that actually works....lol I love you'll. STAY AWESOME!!!
We used to gather up like that at my uncle Pruitt's house. Aunt Lillian and my cousins Sheila and Becky and Jenny would cook up a big meal, all us kids ran the dirt road or out through the woods, and my dad and cousin Randy would break out the dobro or guitar or whatever was handy and sing and play. Those days were the best and I'd give anything to hear those songs and smell that chicken and taters cooking again.

Our little mountain first loved devil eggs. I would slip and give her one and she loved to lay behind my husbands recliner. Well, she would stink herself out of hiding. My husband told me, please don't give her anymore boiled egg. Lol
My grandmother owned the local store and every Saturday afternoon everyone would meet on the front porch and play bluegrass music. It was the only day Grandpa would sell homemade spirit's. They would come from miles around even the local Sheriff,he would always get his for free. This continued until the early 1970's.

Our little mountain first loved devil eggs. I would slip and give her one and she loved to lay behind my husbands recliner. Well, she would stink herself out of hiding. My husband told me, please don't give her anymore boiled egg. Lol

My grandmother owned the local store and every Saturday afternoon everyone would meet on the front porch and play bluegrass music. It was the only day Grandpa would sell homemade spirit's. They would come from miles around even the local Sheriff,he would always get his for free. This continued until the early 1970's.

Sir, you said we dont know what our words mean to you, I need to tell you, YOU dont know what your words mean to US! This is a connection to my family who the good Lord has taken home, including my Mom and Dad. My heart aches for them, my Grandparents, my childhood, walking and wading in New River,a field on one side and that big ole mountain on the other side of the bank, my heart craves the days long gone and those who filled them. You bring them home a little. It soothes my soul, and this is a little piece I can share with my own children who never got to know them. Thank you! From my heart, Thank You.

You are absolutely right... Childhood wouldn't have been the same without the good dogs that shared it! I miss those simple days... And the energy. Gods I wish I still had the sort of energy I had when I was young! LOL! I could certainly use it now!

Back in the old days was the best .Me and my siblings 9 in total we all slept in one bedroom with mom and dad.Yup like sardines lol but it was the best.
