An Emirates SkyCargo Boeing 777-200F makes a smooth touchdown into Adelaide Airport on a gloomy afternoon. Having flown in from Dubai via Singapore & Sydney, she then continued onto Manila carrying a broken engine from her sister ship, A6-EGA (Boeing 777-300ER) that diverted in the previous week, necessitating major repairs. A specialist team from GE was required to change out the massive engine core of the GE90-115B that powers the 300ER. The replacement engine was flown in the previously on another 777F freighter. After a successful repair, EGA is back in the skies and this engine will head to Manila where Lufthansa Technik has a major repair centre. After a few repairs she'll be back flying the friendly skies!
