We have no choice buddy. Just had to put 450 bucks worth of VVTi sensors in my truck before towing the barge. Ouch. But...some people have real problems (as I often say)
Brenton, I have seen some of the people with E-bikes put on a front rack and they move the headlight under the rack. The Yamaha is amazingly quiet on the video .Nice bike.
Amazing how many things you that you RUclips, that I have experienced. I can remember that exact drive in speaker, in my case the early 1970s. I also have a T- dub. I only ride it off road, great bike. I've said it before, but you are a modern day Jeremiah Johnson. God bless you and Wavey.
You can bungee your tool box beneath the front rack along with two inner tubes, tire spoons, tow strap, and a battery booster. Don’t ask how I know you might need such things if you go on the TAT.
@@backwatersandbackroads Try to keep the weight down to a minimum especially if you plan to not skip Imogene, Engineer, or Bear Creek Pass in Colorado. There are you tube videos of jeeps crashing down the side of Bear Creek. I believe you told me heights bother you and none of the you tube videos give a true picture of what the drop offs really look like when you are actually there. Also picking up the motorcycle fully loaded gets heavier after the third time.
22 on a TW200 is a very nice ride. I have been using a Shinko 243 front tire for the last 10k miles. Capable road tire and ok off road. My gearing is 15/50. Great for 2 lanes.
Don’t be afraid to stand on your pegs to give the backside some relief. It makes a huge difference. When I roll through a small town, I stand on the pegs.
Thank B. Another great one. I’ve ridden all over our great State of Michigan including the U.P. North of the bridge is my first choice. Love hunting Luce county in the fall.
Luce County is a special place. They seem to be "improving" it the past few years, which means signs every where saying "don't do this...." running out of places to run! :)
I have put a few good miles on one of the earliest models of this bike it was a blast kind of fit in with one of my favorite rides my SR500 but a lot easier to crank. Keep the shiny side up.
Great video and Wavey is awesome. Just want to suggest that you use strong straps with steel buckles that cinch down tight to strap down Wavey's kennel and the other things on the back instead of bungee straps. Bungees are not secure or nearly strong enough in a tip over. Keep on ridin'!
I talled to you in Moran (just N of the bridge) while you were getting gas. Looks like you had a good ride. The TW is definitely the swiss army knife of bikes and the perfect UP bike. Cant wait for the next video.
Hello! I was hoping you'd find my channel. The TW200 is definitely the perfect UP bike. Maybe next summer we can cross dirt paths. I plan on routing from end to end on all dirt roads. I did maybe 30% of it on this trip hardly trying. We're so blessed to live in Superiorland;)
The front rack would be a great platform to add 2 50 cal ammo boxes. I’m sure you know they are great waterproof storage for tools etc. Safe travels. Really looking forward to following your winter adventures.
Thanks Mike. I'm going to try some bicycle panniers I have on the sides. Apparently I'm not the only one that noticed the uselessness of the rack ;) all over the forums. Off road only.
Those should work very well. Just be sure those fabric bags and mounting straps are tight. Check them often. I can tell you from experience a loose tie down strap finding it’s way into your front wheel will ruin your day.
Hello from the quiet sunny Ozarks Brenton! Another video of value. Hope your well and enjoying your day. Wester lower Michangan with all the sand dunes is awesome. Follwed the car barge from Ludungton to Wisconsin 4 years ago in 24 boat, Lots of memories.I agree Lake Michingan is Totally different than Lake Superior. What brand are those storage boxes on your bike? Thinking about adding them on my bike. it was a joy to spend time seeing your journeys! Tight lines and bent poles!
When I had my V Strom, the best seat improvement onba budget was a deer stand pad from walmart. It was about 1.5" thich and about 16"x16". It kept me from spending money on a seat. They tend to be pricey.
Great video about the speed, I put a 47 tooth sprocket on rear and I got to say, I cruise all day between 60 and 65 mph, rpms stay low and bike vibration is not bad at all.Oh one more thing get rid of the stock front tire it's called the deathwing and for good reason. I have a 140×80×18 on front of my bike, quite large but I like it, looking forward to next vid .
Sure! Very similar. The DR200se is a little quicker and has a little more legs on thr top end. Definitely squirrelier in the dirt and sand. The TW200 stays up right so easy on gravel roads I can film and ride at the same time :) the one thing I didn't like about the DR200 (and I had 3 over rhe years) the stupid petcocks always leak! You can't get a good one. Not even new. They will drain fuel into the crankcase until ita coming out the air cleaner onto the floor! The only thing that could be done is an I line shut off valve. Dumb!! Why they couldn't fix that simple issue is a mystery. Both great small do anything (slowly) bikes. I'd take either one.
That front rack might be for additional "panniers" or forward mounted saddlebags. Bicyclists use them all the time. I ride a KLR 650, similar cult following style bike.
In regards to the "drive-in" window speaker, usually drive-ins had a radio syation broadcasting the films audio. This way the cars could tune their radio in and have great sound. In the town i grew up in, Valparaiso indiana, southern tip of lake michigan, we had a drive in thats still in operation. It is called, the "49er drive-in".
Fuel range is definitely an annoying issue with the TW. That one is set up nice! For my TAT run I put a little windshield (actually I think it was a face shield off a harbor freight grinding mask? Anyways that helped for highway riding more than you would think. I can't remember the sprocket combo I went with but I could do 60 all day and rode it on the freeway from Duluth to Oklahoma, and after the TAT from Oregon to Duluth. We found out on the TAT that in really sticky mud that low hugging front fender impacted with mud and wouldn't let tire turn. Had to remove fender and mounted it to a rack I had above the tire. Kinda looked cool. I loved my TW. I can send you some more fun pics.
Yes! Please do Nate. You have my contact info. Any plans to finish the TAT? I plan on going coast to coast. Sooner than later. Love the TW200! I hear Clark makes a bigger tank. Definitely adding a wind screen. If you can remember the sprocket combo for 60 all day long...that's what I'm looking for. Having that option is nice when you need it.
@@backwatersandbackroads I don’t think you’re going to be doing high mountain passes soon but it ran terribly higher than 5000 feet but that’s just a jetting issue. (Maybe bring some jets if you climb high up ) and also with that sprocket combo there was one mountain pass I couldn’t do. (Because it wasn’t jetted for alpine ) and I had to ride all the way down the montain and go around. But I’m talking really steep and really high. I’ll send you some pics. I’ll search for my build receipts and see if I can figure out what combo I did. I might have a spare tube I just found yesterday I’d like to give to you. It’s huge. (Rear tire ) I have an owners manual to give away but I assume you have that too. Also when I did all those mikes on that trip several bolts vibrated loose. Foot peg, motor mount bolt , and a rack bolt all came out and I had to lock tight them.
Hey there I’m looking to buy a scooter or motorcycle. I see you have the TW200 but used to ride scooters. Why did you buy the TW? I’m torn between it and a scooter😊
Howdy. You need both! Lol. I'm loving the TW. It's a great all around bike for more/less anything. Scooters are cheap and will go places most people wouldn't guess. If I could only have one, I guess I'd choose the TW
