- The Electoral Court has issued directives in the uMkhonto weSizwe Party's bid to invalidate the elections.
The specialist court has given respondents until Tuesday to file responding affidavits.
The MK Party has appointed former Western Cape judge, John Hlophe as the party's Parliamentary leader.
In a statement, the party says Hlophe's distinguished career and unwavering Pan-African outlook have established him as a formidable force against systemic racism, particularly in the Western Cape.
There's been mixed reaction to this decision by the party.

It's a great thing tht judge Mandlakayise John Hlophe, has been appointed by MKP to led them, he is an intellectual black African who was humiliated by other nations who are not black Africans. I have a challenge of over and above making costitution doc as a saint document of reference. My view is that a thief stole from the blacks for more than 150 years, when he realised that the tide was turning against him he caved way into the 1994 dispensation and many laws of the land are mainly protecting and benefiting the thief and his loot.
